The chemical structure of the compounds was confirmed by IR,H NMR and Mass spectral data. All the compounds of the series screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity studies. The result revealed that most of the compounds showed good to moderate antimicrobial activity.

ToF-secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) results showed that a very low bulk percentages ($1 wt.%) of additive led to an almost uniform covering of the polymer surface, indicating a strong surface segregation (blooming effect). Multivariate statistical methods (PCA) allowed us to quantify the additive surface concentration in the lower concentration range (0.3 wt.%). ToF-SIMS imaging con®rmed the uniform surface covering and, for higher concentration (5.5 additive wt.%), showed the formation of additive crystals on the top of the additive covered PETI surface.

Yet the structural state (i.e. local atomic packing), and the corresponding elastic and plastic mechanical response, of MGs is nuanced and dependent on processing history. Moreover, the interplay between small length scales and glass processing routes have produced seemingly conflicting results. Here, the influence of processing on MG mechanical behavior at sub-micron length scales is explored, revealing extreme sensitivity to ion irradiation, enhanced control over the mechanical response, and an underpinning of yield strength in thermodynamic properties. Using in situ testing methods, the deformation response of individual thermoplastically molded MG nanowires is studied. In contrast with previous literature reports the nanowire behavior is observed to be consistent with bulk deformation, exhibiting brittle fracture and shear band...

Further, the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activity. Materials and Method: A series of thienyl pyrazolo[1,5‐a] pyrimidines have been synthesized by the condensation reaction of 4‐(4’‐chloro‐phenylazo)‐5‐amino pyrazole with α, β‐ unsaturated carbonyl composites (chalcones) using NaOH in polyethylene glycol-400 as green reaction solvent. The dissemination technique recommended by the National Clinical Laboratory Standards Committee was used to study the antimicrobial activities of synthesized compounds. Results and Discussion: Polyethylene glycol-400 prompted an efficient synthesis of thienyl pyrazolo[1,5‐a] pyrimidines has been discussed. By using PEG‐400 as green reaction solvent, excellent yields of the proucts were obtained in shorter reaction reaction time. Reaction solvent was ...

Synthesis of bis(indolyl) methanes by the reaction of indoles with structurally diverse aldehydes... more Synthesis of bis(indolyl) methanes by the reaction of indoles with structurally diverse aldehydes and cyclohexanone in the presence of catalytic amount of bleaching earth in polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) as green solvent afforded the corresponding bis(indolyl) methanes in excellent yields. The effects of solvent, nature of substituents on the aromatic ring of aldehydes were investigated. The catalysts and solvent were reusable up to 4 times without significant loss of activity. The remarkable features of this procedure are high conversions, shorter reaction time and cleaner reaction profiles.

The condensation of substituted 2-hydroxyacetophenone with cinnamic acid to obtained (E)-2-acetylphenylcinnamate 2a-i derivatives, which on treatment with base leads to target 3a-i derivatives. A wide range of functional groups were tolerated in the developed protocol. The target molecules were obtained in good to excellent yield applying the current method. All target compounds are characterized by IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectral data.

A simple and eloquent procedure for the synthesis of a new series of thienyl benzo[b]1,4-diazepin... more A simple and eloquent procedure for the synthesis of a new series of thienyl benzo[b]1,4-diazepines is reported. They were synthesized by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine (o-PDA) with distinct hetero chalcones using NaOH in polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) as green and alternative reaction solvent. The significances of this present method are shorter reaction time, easy work-up, high yields, and mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, this method is environment friendly and without use of an expensive catalyst. The all newly synthesized compounds are characterized by the spectroscopic methods.

Here, we have reported detailed syntheses of 2,5-dichlorothiophene, 5-chloro-2-(benzylthio)thiophene, and 5-chlorothiophene-2-sulphonamide substituted analogs of isoxazoline from chalcones catalyzed by NaOH in PEG-400 as green solvent. In vitro antimycobacterial and antimicrobial activity of newly synthesized compounds were investigated. Compounds 2j, 2k, and 2l showed excellent activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other Mycobacterium strains tested. Compounds 2a–2c, 2i showed excellent activity against all bacterial and fungal species tested. The isoxazoline scaffold synthesized in the present study may be useful in the development of novel new antimicrobial agents.
