Mostly, complex filter equations are used for deriving the correlation filters, leading to a filter solution in a closed loop. Selection of optimal tradeoff (OT) parameters is crucial for the effectiveness of correlation filters. This paper proposes extended particle swarm optimization (EPSO) technique for the optimal selection of OT parameters. The optimal solution is proposed based on two cost functions. The best result for each target is obtained by applying the optimization technique separately. The obtained results are compared with the conventional particle swarm optimization method for various test images belonging from different state-of-the-art datasets. The obtained results depict the performance of filters improved significantly using the proposed optimization method.

In this study the Feldstein-Horioko puzzle investigated in Pakistan which states that the existence of relationship between saving and investment is the indication of capital immobility. Methodology-The data of gross domestic product saving, capital formation and current account from 1980 to 2016 collected from State Bank of Pakistan, IMF outlook data base and Economic Survey of Pakistan. The ADF and PP test used to find out the stationarity of the variables. Famous Johansen cointegration used to check the long run relationship between saving and investment and between current account and investment. Findings-The results of unit root test indicate that all the variables are stationary at their first difference. The empirical results of cointegration test shows that there is no long run relation exist between saving and investment and long run relationship exist between current acc...

Research paper thumbnail of Impact of Pak-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on Trade and Industry of Pakistan

Electronic Research Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, 2019

This report is analytical in nature based on archival data retrieved from Thompson Reuters, online sources of Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Textile and ITC (International Trade Center). The Econometric Modeling is performed based on Time Series and Panel Data of Exports of last 15 years from July 2003-June 2017 to evaluate the impact of exports at industry level basis. The report also explicates the impact of exports on growth of trade flows of Pakistan, as researchers have evaluated the impact of the bilateral agreement between Pakistan and China. The researchers focus on Readymade Garments. Pak-China FTA’s first phase included Trade in Goods and Investments, while negotiations regarding Trade in Services took place in 2007, to expand the coverage of the agreement. The Data is analyzed though the E-Views. Moreover, Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression Model have been used together with Co-integration test to evaluate the long-term relationship between exports and trade flows of Pakistan. The report also links the strategy of exports with the Textiles Policy of 2014-19 and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) has also been analyzed for the purpose of identifying potential exports. The report explicates at the end certain policy implications based on analysis of Pak China FTA and overall impact of exports on trade flows of Pakistan.
