The radical copolymerization of methyl-and butyl methacrylates with an electrondonor monomer: N-(... more The radical copolymerization of methyl-and butyl methacrylates with an electrondonor monomer: N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-carbazolyl methacrylate and an electron-acceptor monomer: (/~-hydroxyethyl)-3,5-dinitrobenzoyl-methacrylate respectively, in dioxane at 60~ was investigated. The reactivity ratios of the binary systems were computed by using the Kelen-TiJd6s method. The azeothropic compositions were established according to the respective copolymerization diagrams.

Herrn Pros Dc ~ ~ Can~w zu semem 6~ GeburtsMg herzlich gewidmet SUMMARY T studies on copolymers o... more Herrn Pros Dc ~ ~ Can~w zu semem 6~ GeburtsMg herzlich gewidmet SUMMARY T studies on copolymers of methyl methacrylate and of butyl g methacrylate with N-(2-hydroxyethyl) carbazolyl methacrylate as electro-donor and respective with methacryloyl-B-hydroxyethyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoate as electro-acceptor comonomer have shown that the glass transition behaviour can only be explained by the effect of triad sequences. Introduction of the electro-donor (or electro-acceptor) group into a methacrylate triad allways increases the T contribution of the homopolymer g triad, whilst the introduction of a methacrylate group into the electro-donor (acceptor) triad decreases the respective T contribution. g
