Teaching Natural and Social Sciences, because of its particularity and interdisciplinary effect, is suitable for application of different innovative models. One of the possibilities in which students are thoughtfully engaged, and teaching is intensified and weaknesses of traditional subject-class teaching are overcome is the application of tasks of different level of complexity. This paper represents a part of vast research which shows that individualization of teaching Natural and Social Sciences with the tasks of different level of complexity of students' achievement, when we talk about quality and durability of knowledge improvement, and students develop very positive belief of that sort of teaching and gain motivation for further work and learning. Special attention is given to advantages, but as well to problems, uncertainties, and obstacles we have faced during application of this innovative model.

The responses of 35 third year undergraduate students of the Class teacher study program were analyzed. The analysis has shown that the respondents did not have major difficulties in attending classes via video-conferencing and in working with learning materials posted on online platforms. They are satisfied with their participation in the distance learning, as well as with teachers’ efforts to maintain the quality of the teaching process in a different context. Although the majority of the respondents were not able to assess whether distance learning is less successfull than the traditional one, more than half of them agree with the proposal that in the post-pandemic period a part of the classes be organized online.

Teachers use speech to ask questions, make requests, provide children with information or instructions, explain, praise or criticize. On the other hand, when communicating with teachers, children enrich their vocabulary, develop their culture of speech and communication skills. It is a common belief that everyone who can speak and communicate on a daily basis possesses developed communicative competences, especially when having 3- to 6-year-olds as interlocutors. In order to successfully communicate with children, preschool teachers need to have a good knowledge in pedagogy, psychology and methodology, to be familiar with children and spend time with them, to base the relationships on mutual trust and respect. Communication is easier to establish and more successful...

Learning through play that enables children to move, positively affects their motivation to be focused on the content. New educational paradigm involves overall modernisation through using different means, forms and methods of working with children, towards applying integrative approach, innovative strategies, and modern pedagogical technology. Integration implies, whenever possible, to combine different subject contents because children easily memorise logically integrated topics. In this case, children are actively involved in the educational process, they develop in concrete social surrounding and are not just objects waiting to memorise an information. In line with the fact that Engli...

Searching the possibilities of improving university teaching quality, we examined students' attitudes (N = 174) in order to determine whether students recognize the importance of joint activities with teachers, project planning and implementation, in the context of their motivational readiness for more efficient learning and higher quality acquisition of knowledge. The research was performed using a descriptive method and a scaling process. Research results confirm that students recognize the importance of joint project activities they implement with teachers during instruction, as well as of step-bystep learning (by smaller units), further motivating them to learn. These results point the researchers to the directions of action aimed at developing a syste...

The beginnings of outdoor learning can be found in the works of pedagogical classics (Russo, Froebel, Pestalozzi, Montessori) at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century, but also by Serbian pedagogues, primarily Sreten Adžić, the first headmaster of the Serbian Royal Men’s Teacher’s School in Jagodina (1897), although they teach intuitively different skills, children’s play and stay outdoor is as old as human civilization. It wasn’t until the late eighteenth century that children began to be seen as individuals in their own right; previously they were regarded by society as miniature adults .. In the paper, we analyze the advantages and importance of outdoor learning for children at an early age and present the results of the students survey - future preschool teachers of the Faculty of Education of the University of Kragujevac, who, for the first time within their for...

These reforms were mostly only partial, focused on corrections and changes in the direction of improving certain segments of the educational system (plans, programs, textbooks, and extension of education) so that the expected results were not in fact achieved. Taking into account that the teacher is a key player in an educational reform process (because he/she educates those who will educate future generations), the education policy makers in 2012 formed a Strategy for the Development of Education in Serbia until 2020, which included, besides other things, measures, proposals and solutions to improve teacher education. The aim of the paper was to use the comparative and theoretical analysis method in order to determine whether there is discrepancy or cohesion between the competences expected of teachers in the 21st century and those that future teachers acquire at the Faculty of Education in Jagodina, University of Kragujevac. By comparing the study programs of the final years of basic academic studies of students − future class teachers and the Regulations and standards of competencies for the teacher profession (primarily class teachers), we have come to the conclusion that the elements that were the subject of our analysis are not sufficiently coherent, mutually unrelated and incompatible. On the basis of the results of our research, we propose that a reform of the study programs of compulsory subjects (primarily the teaching methodologies) should be carried out during the next accreditation period. The research will outline some amendments that could be introduced and will enable future teachers to attain the highest standards of competencies and, in all teaching areas, better qualify for their profession.

Apart from the fundamental characteristics and importance of using research approach, the paper also presents the results of an empirical research aimed at the influence of different ways of implementing focused activities on children's motivation and curiosity as well as developing thinking and reasoning skills. The research was carried out in the field of Basics of Science, specifically contents about magnetism and it was performed using a method of theoretical analysis, experimental research method (experiment with parallel groups) and interviewing technique. The research results show the existence of differences in children's motivation for discovering scientific concepts through play and their curiosity. On the other hand, their thinking and reasoning skills were not measured in this research because it was not possible in their age due to their inability to read and write.
