A sample of 902 was drawn from students of and staff of NOUN, National Universities Commission and conventional Federal Universities in Nigeria. Construct validated Program Theory-based Evaluation Questionnaire with reliability coefficient of 0.79 was used. Ten hypotheses were tested using ANOVA and independent samples t-test at 0.05 alpha. Results indicated that great discrepancy exists between the expected and actual outcomes of NOUN as it is significantly inadequate in addressing 'higher education for all in need' intervention for which it was established. Though the objectives for which NOUN was established has been partially implemented as defined and aspects of its objectives achieved. The study recommends that the defected aspects of NOUN should be modified to meat stated objectives.

Though as the major agency for both personal and national development, university education is expected to be the main driver in the realization of the national goals of Nigeria; the country has continued to pay preposterous attention to it. Consequently, compared to other universities as shown in the various objective rankings of universities in the globe, Nigerian universities are nowhere as they bagged highly ludicrous ranks. No Nigerian university qualified to make the top best 3000 universities as ranked by Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings, and Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Even the very best university in Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University, as ranked by the liberal Ranking Web of Universities in 2013, did not qualify to be among the top 1100 best universities in the world. The almighty University of Ibadan is ranked 2,109 th ; the much talked about American University in Nigeria bagged 6,367 th position; the unique University of Port Harcourt is ranked 7326 th ; and as much as 101 of the 125 universities in Nigeria do not qualify to even fall within 10,000 universities in the world. In Africa alone, Nigerian universities are trailing far behind.

The teacher has been identified as the most important factor in meeting the Human Capital Needs of Nigeria in Mathematics, Science and Technology (MST). Thus the country's goal of becoming one of the 20 greatest countries of the world by the year 2020 must adequately focus on the teacher. The Teaching Profession is at the peak of all professions - it is the profession that creates other professions. All the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria, STAN, MAN, and other organisations have not eradicated the acute shortage of mathematics and science teachers. It is recommended that putting back the Teaching Profession at the pinnacle it used to be in Nigeria (The Teaching Profession is at the pinnacle and has always been at the pinnacle in other parts of the world), will check the exodus of trained teachers. This way, the leakages being experienced in the profession would be eliminated and...

Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study was 745 respondents which comprised 491 lecturers and students in the Faculty of Education of Rivers State University and 254 lecturers and students in the Faculty of Education of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. Simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 260 fixed using the Tsaro Yamen Formula. Data was collected through a questionnaire developed by the researchers titled Examination Malpractice and Academic Achievement (EMAA) with a reliability coefficient of 0.79 computed with the Pearson's Product Moment Correlation test statistic. The research questions were answered using means and standard deviations. The null hypotheses formulated were tested at 0.05 level of significance using the z-test. Results indicated that there is no significant difference in the mean perceptions of lecturers and students on the types, causes, consequences of examination malpractice that hinder academic achievement of students, and measures adopted to minimize the rate of examination malpractices to improve academic achievement of students in higher institutions in Rivers State. It was concluded that that the act of examination malpractice is dishonest, illegal and immoral. Given the above, the study recommended that the enacted government legislations on examination malpractice should be enforced to the letter to serve as deterrent to others, adequate teaching and learning materials should be provided to make teaching and learning more effective, and parents and guardians should avoid putting undue pressure on children.

The correlational research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 800 respondents, while 30% of the population was used to obtain a sample size of 240 senior secondary school students. The simple random sampling technique was adopted for the study. A structured questionnaire titled "Social Intelligence and Academic Achievement" (SIAAA) with a four point rating scale was designed, and a reliability coefficient of 0.81 was obtained using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. Mean was used to answer the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation analysis. It was found that significant relationship exist between self-awareness and academic achievement of students; self-motivation and academic achievement of students; and empathy and academic achievement of students. The study concluded that self-awareness, self-motivation, and empathy enhance the academic achievement of students. It was recommended among others that teachers/instructors need to take into account their students' diverse self-awareness, self-motivation, and empathy in designing instructional methods that take care of these diversities. The research questions were answered using means and standard deviations. The null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using the One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Independent Samples t-test. Results indicated that though the Business Education Programme has been partially implemented as defined with aspects of the objectives achieved; great disparity exists between the expected and actual outcomes; and that Business Education Programme is significantly inadequate as it lacked properly equipped business studios for practical experiences of the learners.
