Barus is an area located in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. Barus has been inau... more Barus is an area located in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. Barus has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ir. Joko Widodo as the first place for the spread of Islam in Indonesia. The President of the Republic of Indonesia also signed the inauguration of the Zero Point Monument of Islam Nusantara in Barus. This determination was based on studies by researchers, public requests, and various historical literature which indicated that Barus was the location where Islam first descended in Indonesia. This can also be seen by the presence of Islamic relics in Barus. One of the remains of the Mahligai tomb site and the Papan Tinggi tomb site which spread Islam is estimated to be in the 5th century AD. However, establishing Barus as the initial location of Islam in the archipelago has raised debate from historians and certain communities. So far, the public considers that Aceh is the location of Islam for the first time in Indonesia. The debate about the entry of Islam has made the author need to dig deeper into the traces of Islamic history in the city of Barus.

One of the traditions that has survived to this day in the area of Stone Belah Kec by Kab. Kampar... more One of the traditions that has survived to this day in the area of Stone Belah Kec by Kab. Kampar is the tradition of the Balimau Kasai bath that is performed in the month of Ramadan with the aim of purifying yourself. This study examines specifically the Balimau Kasai bathing tradition in the village of Stone Belah, reviewing the historicity of the tradition and its impact on society. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive, with the collection of data from live interviews and sources from books, journals, and articles related to the dissemination of research. The results showed that the Balimau Kasai bathing tradition was carried out by Muslim society in line with the arrival of Islam, and the influence of Islam was felt in Kampar in the 14th century. So the tradition of bathing Balimau Kasai is one of the traditions resulting from the harmonization between custom, the elements of old beliefs (Hindu and Buddhist), and the teachings of Islam. Islam in Indonesia as a religion with the most adherents has its own uniqueness in the history of... more Islam in Indonesia as a religion with the most adherents has its own uniqueness in the history of its development. Indonesian Islam is propagated, taught and adhered to peacefully and without coercion. There are several theories about the history of the arrival of Islam in Indonesia.The diversity of theories is caused by the phenomenon of complexity, namely Islam does not originate from one place/country, nor is it brought by one group of people and not all at once Islam was developed by Ulama through three channels namely; cultural (da'wah, education, art, culture, and marriage), structural (politics and power), economy (trade routes). In other words, the process of Islamization in Indonesia is influenced by political power and the spirit of preaching.

Hingga mulai muncullah banyak versi bacaan, yang sebagian telah diakui validitasnya, yaitu memang benar berasal dari Nabi, namun sebagian Qirâ’at masih diragukan kebenarannya, dan ada kemungkinan tidak berasal dari Nabi. Oleh karena itu, ulama Qurra’ mensyaratkan tiga kriteria untuk mengvalidasi versi Qirâ’at tersebut. Ketiga syarat tersebut adalah pertama diriwayatkan melalui sanad mutawâtir, kedua, sesuai dengan mushaf utsmani dan ketiga, sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Arab. tujuannya untuk mengetahui ayat-ayat al-Qur’ân yang berbeda Qirâ’at (bacaan) dan Pengaruhnya terhadap penafsiran Wahbah al-Zuhailî dalam Tafsîr al-Munîr. Walaupun Allah telah menurunkan al-Qur’ân dengan bahasa Arab yang jelas, tetapi belum semua umat Islam paham dan mengerti makna kata-kata yang terdapat dalam al-Qur’ân. Khususnya mengenai makna dan penafsiran kata Rûh. Maka yang menjadi pokok penelitian skripsi ini adalah menguraikan bagaimana makna dan penafsiran kata Rûh yang terdapat dalam al-Qur’ân, serta bagaimana penafsiran kata Rûh menurut Ibnu Katsîr dan Quraish Shihâb. Walaupun Allah telah menurunkan al-Qur’ân dengan bahasa Arab yang jelas, tetapi belum semua umat Islam paham dan mengerti makna kata-kata yang terdapat dalam al-Qur’ân. Khususnya mengenai makna dan penafsiran kata Rûh. Maka yang menjadi pokok penelitian ini adalah menguraikan bagaimana makna dan penafsiran kata Rûh yang terdapat dalam al-Qur’ân, serta bagaimana penafsiran kata Rûh menurut Muhammad Quraish Shihab. Pada konteks apa saja Rûh itu dimaknai Jiwa (potensi hidup manusia), Jibrîl, maupun al-Qur’ân, dan apakah ada makna lain selain yang telah disebutkan di atas.
