Abstract This paper aims to discuss morphological processes of verb forming in Kutai Language. Th... more Abstract This paper aims to discuss morphological processes of verb forming in Kutai Language. The data in this research were analyzed by using one of modeling morphology which is called Item and Process (IP) in Morphology Generative. The data used in this paper are taken from Hatuwe’s paper. Besides, this data also obtained by using an online dictionary of Kutai Language. Method applied to find out the process of morphophonemic is descriptive qualitative method. The result of the analysis shows that the Item and Process (IP) model is appropriate to explain the morphological processes of verb forming such as an assimilation process of nasal sound /n/ as the underlying representation of prefix changed into sound /m/, /ŋ/ and /ɲ/ as the variations of morpheme /n/ which is called allomorph.
