Little is known about the obstacles and opportunities Kuakata has in implementing sustainable tourism. The purpose of this research is to look into the various prospects and challenges of sustainable tourism at Kuakata sea beach. The qualitative methods used in this study consisted of semi-structured stakeholder interviews; thematic analysis identified five key challenges such as environmental degradation, infrastructure and facilities development, socio-cultural issues, behaviour problems, and marketing, monitoring, and evaluation. The most significant obstacle to promoting sustainable tourism in Kuakata is beach erosion. Along with these challenges, this study has identified four new prospects such as exploring new tourist sites, developing community-based tourism, introducing a new tourist route, Payra seaport-new door to possibilities of tourism.

Th e research involved primary data collection in Kuakata during COVID-19 in March 2021. Correspondence analysis on tourists' perceptions shows that tourists have an overall concern towards sustainable tourism with respect to the quality of the destination and desirable features. However, they moderately feel that the lack of certain things (i.e. medical and fi rst-aid services, parking areas) is making tourism activities worse and that's why tourists were unsatisfi ed. Tourists are also interested in sustainable tourism development. For instance, they prefer to stay in those hotels that are doing well for the environment and also spend extra money on garbage cleaning and village development. Besides, there is a signifi cant mean diff erence in the perceptions of tourists towards sustainable tourism development at Kuakata sea beach with respect to tourists' house location from Kuakata sea beach and monthly family income. Furthermore, perceptions and attitudes toward sustainable tourism vary signifi cantly dependent on the characteristics of the visitors.

All the main religions (Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist) enjoy religious freedom in praying, pilgrimage, and celebration regardless of their numbers. Best architectures are displayed at thousands of ancient/new mosques, churches, pagodas, and synagogues scattered around the country. Thousands of people travel to see the Architectural ornamentation of various praying institutions. Spiritual tourism generates millions domestically and millions of foreign currencies for international spiritual travelers. Religious tourism is one of the largest contributors in overall tourism industry. Tourism not only creates jobs in the tertiary sector, but also encourages growth in the primary and secondary sectors of industry. The study shows that in Bangladesh there are tremendous opportunities to grow religious tourism because it has a lot of religious, cultural and archeological heritage, historical heritage, which could be potential destinations for tourism. The report also discusses issues with the growth of religious tourism and recommendations are also provided to motivate religious visitors to visit the country's numerous religious sites and to stimulate economic growth in Bangladesh.

Since the Padma Bridge opened to the public, there have been a lot more tourists visiting the area. This paper examines the perception of local residents toward sustainable tourism in Kuakata sea beach with applying of factor analysis. The simple random sampling technique was used to identify study participants. The result of the mean analysis indicates that the economic, environmental, and socio-cultural effect of tourism has a substantial influence on the mindset of the locals. The five factors identified by factor analysis show that residents of Kuakata have a positive view of sustainable tourism development as a whole. On the other side, this analysis demonstrates that local communities have some negative perceptions towards sustainable tourism. Besides, the demographic variables such as gender, age, educational qualification and occupations has a great impact on the perceptions of residents towards sustainable tourism on Kuakata sea beach.

Bangladesh is also a beneficial country like many others in the world since this country is full of potentials with natural resources and tourism industry. Tourism often seems a blessing for the nation. However, mass tourism has both useful and harmful impacts on a country like Bangladesh. Sometimes the rate of negative consequences is higher than the positive ones. Mass tourism brings dangerous results to the local economy, community, culture and environment of a country. However, these dangers can be lessened through proper monitoring, investigation and appropriate interventions of the government as well as other private agencies. This paper explores both the good and bad effects of mass tourism. It also analyzes the significance of effectively monitoring mass tourism so that benefits outweigh the risks.

For tourism and recreation, they are also a major feature, providing an important component of natural landscapes, a source of recreation from fishing to rafting, and in the case of major rivers such as the Nile, Rhine and Yangtze, a route for cruises. But while there is a large literature on rivers for outdoor recreation, there are comparatively few academic studies on river tourism. A recent CABI book edited by Prideaux et al. (2009) aims to rectify this by to exploring a number of issues related to river tourism, raising awareness of the roles that rivers play in tourism and identifying areas that require further research. The book chapters are now indexed on the Leisuretourism.com database. The book covers rivers and river systems in areas including North America, Africa and Australia, and activities including cruising, fishing and white-water rafting. It also considers conflicting demands made on rivers, with tourism and recreation often impacted by the creation of dams and water extraction for irrigation and urban use. The introductory chapter of the book (Prideaux et al.) develops a typology of factors that impact rivers and can affect their use for tourism. This first chapter argues that river systems are complex ecosystems that are noticeably influenced by many human activities, including tourism and recreation, and that the continued tourism use of the world's rivers must be monitored and well managed to be able to conserve the natural and cultural wealth of these ecosystems. A river which has been used by man for millenia, and has dominated the history of a region, is the Nile. Cooper (2009) discusses the geography, human history, and current tourism resources of the river Nile, showing that it is important in tourism terms for many countries besides Egypt and Sudan, and that the range of tourism attractions and activities throughout the length of the river is much wider than that of viewing ancient civilizations or of river cruising. In Ethiopia there is a developing white-water rafting tourism industry, while the wildlife supported by the Nile in Ethiopia and other countries attracts ecotourists. For Nile cruising, in Egypt over 225 boats operate on the Nile with a capacity of 12,300 rooms, while for the more adventurous many operators also offer day or multi-day trips on the 'felucca', Egypt's traditional Nile sailboat. But the author also reports that, as with most major water sources in these days of climate-change concerns, the Nile is also in danger of becoming a victim of international conflict over the scarcity of water. Another river which has played a major role in a country's history, and is both a tourism resource and a site of headline-hitting development for hydroelectric power, is China's Yangzi. This river is discussed by Arlt and Feng (2009), concentrating on the tourist activities on the river, and the river's main attraction, the 'Three Gorges.' The chapter also examines the need for a 'Yangzi River Tourism Region'. Currently the river has no unified market approach and it is suggested that the lack of a regional approach has created a number of difficulties. The authors say that the concept of a tourism zone exists as a geographic space but not as an administrative reality. The establishment of a tourism region offers a number of advantages from planning and marketing perspectives but given the current scale of competition between the regions along the river this may take some time to occur. River-based tourism in the USA is discussed by Timothy (2009) with regard to tourism and recreation on the Colorado and Mississippi rivers.
