The measures are taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus and slowdown of economic activities could have major short and long term effects on the natural ecosystem and climate in the coming days. Based on the current scientific studies, the present perspective intends to examine the possible direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ecosystem particularly on medicinal plants. The natural compounds obtained from medicinal plants and herbal formulations provide rich sources of novel effective measures to control viral infections. The unpredictable COVID situation has affected the environment based on several aspects which may play a key role in impact on plants. The positive perspectives of the world pandemic are a significant improvement in quality of air, reduced carbon emission, increased water purity and reduction in other types of pollution. But at the same time, the negative consequences are much more, which mainly includes increased consumption of preventive medical equipment and medical wastes due to treatment and human immortality, which is continuously endangering the medicinal plants. These wastes may affect the natural cycling process and the natural habitat of the medicinal plants which are a promising solution for the prevention of viral diseases in the years to come. Hence, this perspective will be beneficial for the possible research studies and proper implementation of the strategies that might be support the global climate sustainability.

During alkaline hydrolysis of Chlorpyrifos to produce 1, 2, 4-trichloropyridine (TCP) in alkaline medium, which coupled with diazotized p-aminoacetophenone to form orange-red color dye at measure 505 nm. The color system obeys Beer's law in the following working range of 1.2 to 10.5 µg (0.048-0.42 ppm) in a final solution of 25 ml. The Molar Absorptivity, Sandell's Sensitivity, Correlation coefficient, Standard deviation and Relative standard deviation have been determined The method is highly reproducible and have been successfully applied for determination of Chlorpyrifos insecticides in environmental and biological samples.

The need to find an inexpensive and effective method for heavy metals abatement from water becomes inevitable. Adsorption is very effectively used technique for this purpose but cost is an important parameter and the types of adsorbents conventionally used are expensive. This work aims to evaluate the adsorption of some heavy metals on waste tea leaves as a cheap purification method. In this experimental study, thermo modified prepared waste tea leaves are used as adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions. Adsorption experiments were carried out as batch studies at different contact time, pH, amount of adsorbent, initial metal concentration and temperature. The objective of this study is to use the tea waste as a low cost adsorbent for the removal of metal concentration in various waste waters of industry effluents etc. The effect of variatio...

This work incorporates the quantitative analysis of total poly-phenolics in plant extracts determined with the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent. Standard used for the analysis was gallic acid. Concentration of 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05 mg/ml of gallic acid were prepared in methanol. The standard graph was obtained for Y=0.0061x + 0.0396; R2=0.9991. Concentration of 0.1 and 1mg/ml of plant extract were also prepared in methanol and 0.5ml of each sample were introduced into test tubes and mixed with 2.5ml of a 10 fold dilute FolinCiocalteu reagent and 2ml of 7.5% sodium carbonate. The Folin-Ciocalteu reagent is sensitive to reducing compounds including polyphenols, thereby producing a blue colour upon reaction. This blue colour is measured spectrophotometrically. The antioxidant activity of the plant samples was determined using the DPPH radic...

In one mode of application, the hydrated oxide of iron was deposited on coal by keeping it suspended in the aqueous solution of an iron salt and adding ammonium hydroxide to it. In the other case, the hydrated oxide was precipitated under exactly similar conditions in the absence of coal and was mixed with the powdered coal. For the same concentration of iron and under identical conditions of reaction, the overall efficiency of the deposited form of catalyst was found to be superior to the mixed type.

The present analysis was carried out to characterize the phytochemicals present in the leaves of five selected noteworthy medicinal plants. Leaf extracts of Clitoria ternatea, Calotropis gigantea, Mentha Arvensis, Aegle marmelos and Catharanthus roseus were made by using three solvents methanol, ethanol and chloroform and these extracts have been evaluated using Ultra Violet Visible (UV-VIS) and Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer. The results of FTIR and UV-VIS spectral values and the qualitative phytochemical screening done by standard methods confirm the presence of certain phytochemicals such as terpenoids, flavonoids, glycosides, carbohydrates, quinones, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, steroids, and phenols in the selected plant leaves. Methanol extracts of the plant leaves were found to consist of a good source of phytochemicals as compared to the chloroform and ethanol extract. The present study validates that selected plant leaves are an excellent source of significant phytochemicals and can be used in the production of herbal formulation, useful drugs and alternative medicines.

This method is very simple as there is no requirement of prior separation of the complex and reagents are commonly available. The method is based on enhancement of sensitivity of the [AMIYTP] + β-cyclodextrin and PEG molecules involved in formation of molecules inclusion complex, in presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG) medium. The mole ratio of [AMIYTP] + β-cyclodextrin and PEG molecules in inclusion complex were determined by the curve fitting method. The value of molar absorptivity of {[AMIYTP: (β CD)] PEG} complex in term of the drug lies in rage of (2.20 2.23) × 10 4 L·mole –1 ·cm –1 at absorption maximum 242 nm. The slope, intercept and correlation co-efficient were found to be 14.21, 0.0046, and 0.998, respectively. Water pollution is considered as one of the most important problem facing the world nowadays. One of the sources that causes water pollution, even in small concentrations, are the pharmaceuticals, as about 30–90% of the given dose can remain non-degradable in the human or animal body, & is largely excreted as an active compound. Especially release of antibiotics to the environment causes enhanced resistant bacteria, which makes related treatment difficult; therefore the removal of the antibiotics from waste water is very important to protect the ecosystem in long term. It is known that antibiotics are the new contaminants of concern in the aquatic environment as they pass through the body largely un-metabolized & directly enter into the water-systems. The purpose here is to determine the overall transformation potential of some antibiotic drugs in wastewaters with specif...
