By examining the artistic products of the decade-specifically Langston Hughes' "I Too Sing America"-the audience may begin to understand the interplay of culture, art, and politics in twentieth century Harlem. This discourse studies the meaning and power of Hughes' poem and efforts to understand how racial identity originated and evolved.
