Con objeto de examinar los efectos de un programa de entrenamiento en interaccion enfermera-pacie... more Con objeto de examinar los efectos de un programa de entrenamiento en interaccion enfermera-paciente sobre el bienestar percibido y la recuperacion medica de pacientes hospitalizados en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital publico de segundo nivel, 18 enfermeras y 120 pacientes se asignaron aleatoriamente a un grupo experimental o a uno control en lista de espera. El entrenamiento consistio en un curso intensivo de ocho semanas a las enfermeras, que incluyo materiales de lectura, instruccion verbal, modelamiento, ensayos conductuales y realimentacion descriptiva (sobre videograbaciones). El programa busco establecer, en las enfermeras, conductas especificas tales como hacer contacto visual, saludar al paciente, ofrecerle ayuda, tener proximidad fisica, elogiarlo, sonreirle, hacerle solicitudes verbales, darle contacto fisico de apoyo y evitar criticar, reganar, gritar o ignorar al paciente. In order to test the frequency of depression in a sample group of patients with Chronic Renal Ins... more In order to test the frequency of depression in a sample group of patients with Chronic Renal Insufficiency (CRI) due to Diabetic Nephropathy (DN), an Expost-Facto study, of transversal type, was done. In this study it is typified every particularity about this problem. The subjects that participated in this study were 100 patients that attend to the continuous Intermittent Peritoneal Dialysis Program, in a public hospital from the health sector in San Luis Potosi. The diagnose of Diabetic Nephropathy was done by their own doctors. The presence of depression was measured with the GHQ-28 instrument (General Health Questionnaire), and the validated, trustful, and Spanish standardized version was used in this study. The dependant variable to consider was the evaluation of the index of depression estimated through the GHQ-28 scale; the independent variable was the socio-demographic aspects and chronic degenerative condition of the complications due to diabetic nephropathy. The burnout syndrome (BS) is characterized by emotional fatigue, loss of personal identity and lo... more The burnout syndrome (BS) is characterized by emotional fatigue, loss of personal identity and loss of personal realization feelings. BS is frequent among professionals that assist people (health care workers) and among those that have interpersonal contact; the occupational characteristics are among BS contributing factors. The objective was to ascertain BS prevalence among nurses affiliated to the San Luis Potosí General Hospital. A cross-sectional survey was carried out with a groups of nurses who gave their informed consent to participate. The Brief Questionnaire of Burnout version standardized for Mexico was used to collect the information. This version explores the following areas: emotional fatigue, loss of personal identity and personal realization. Also, participants answered three questionnaires about their socio-demographic characteristics, occupational satisfaction, family variables and emotional dysfunction. 70 licensed nurses participated.
