The culture values supporting of innovation behaviour are really important aspect of the business development. The aim of this paper is the analysis of the organizational culture impact and potential within innovation processes in organization. The most important part is a partial research result presentation concerning state of innovation organizational culture in the Slovak medium sized enterprises from 2010 to 2014. A considerable reserve of the adequate background for encouragement of an employee's innovation behaviour was discovered. Therefore a general proposal of step by step methodology with point evaluation of an orientation rate of the organizational culture to the innovation was created during the formation of the adequate organizational culture. A case study of the level of an attribute in the three monitored enterprises endorsin...

Foreign trade in furniture indicates the suc cess of the sector and its competitiveness on international markets. The aim of t his paper is to evaluate the trade competitiveness, and its trend, in the furnit re manufacturing industry in both the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic for a period of ten years, through the implementation of indicators based on ind ustry foreign trade data and using mathematical and statistical methods. A system of indicators was set up and the hypothesis: “In the furniture industry the compe titive potential is used insufficiently” was proposed. The results achieved confirmed the hypothesis, however, despite the furniture industry showing an active foreign trade balance, it contributed little to the country’s trade balance s urplus and low values of the indicators of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) w ere achieved. Therefore, the industry gradually loses its c...

Wood processing industry (WPI) is a sector based on renewable natural resources of wood and therefore capable of sustainable growth. The interest of the European Union is to build economy based on renewable natural resources, resulting in the need to pay increased attention to the development and support of the WPI. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the impact of foreign trade in WPI on the economic performance of the sector in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. To achieve the goal we have set up a system of indicators and tested a hypothesis: Increasing export performance of the sector has a positive impact on its economic performance. Achieved results have shown that although the WPI generates an active trade balance, sectoral performance during the analyzed decade declined due to changes in the net exports.

The paper deals withmodern methods of business performance measurement. Among the best known concepts and methods belong: Balanced Scorecard (BSC), Six Sigma, Activity Based Costing (ABC), Total Quality Management (TQM), Total productive maintenance (TPM), Kaizen, Method 5S, ISO Norms, Benchmarking, Process controlling. The aim of the paper is to describe how to use modern method the BSC to implement business strategy. We put forward information and definitions of the most used indicators, tools, methods and management models at generally. The attention in the paper is paid also to research results focused on using modern methods of business process management in Slovak industrial enterprises from selected branches.

The object of interest of this paper is a modern management approach based on corporate performance evaluation by measuring the performance of internal processes. The paper aims to prove that the use of modern indicators and the measurement of internal processes belong among factors that have a direct positive impact on corporate performance. To reach the aim, empirical primary research was carried out. The paper focused on research results regarding the use of modern indicators for the measurement of business processes in Slovak industrial enterprises from selected branches. The primary quantitative research was conducted using questionnaires. The research aimed to test the hypothesis stating that enterprises using modern indicators to measure process performance have been reaching more positive ROE values...

This calculation in its own base takes into account costs during the whole life cycle and creates a precondition for precise information database for decision making. The utilization of this calculation is often connected with the issue of the Environment. The aim of the paper is to propose LCC utilization in condition of goods transport by truck. Case-Based-Methodology for cost estimation as well as the time factor of discount rate for expected payments calculation of two vehicle acquisition cases with Net Present Value determination are used in this paper.

To achieve the required processes performance means to ensure the required quality and capability of processes. The partial aim of this paper is to confirm the positive effects of the Six Sigma methodology (SSM) on the corporate performance in the Slovak Republic and an investigation of the dependency of SSM implementation on the certified quality management system (QMS) as a set-forward condition via a questionnaire survey carried out in Slovak industrial enterprises. The survey results confirmed the above-mentioned assumptions. The SSM using DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) was applied in real conditions of two manufacturing enterprises with a different level of quality management system. The results of the research study proved a possibility to implement SSM and to use the same methods in enterprises aside from a level of QMS. However, more remarkable results were achieved by the enterprise which introduced QMS. The first application of SSM in enterprises within specific conditions of furniture production processes can be considered to be a contribution of the research study, as well. The result of the work is the model including the methodology and the appropriate combination of methods and tools for assuring the sustainable performance of the business processes.

Implementation of a process approach to the business management is considered one of the biggest breakthroughs of 20th century. Traditional functional managerial systems are ineffective therefore new system has to be developed. The answer on this question is the Process Management. The aim of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) framework is to improve level of processes maturity. This model could be used as a base for implementation of process approach in the business management. The aim of the paper is create briefly description of CMM and to point out relation between financial performance of Slovak enterprises and process control level (a maturity of processes). The theoretical base has been created after theoretical knowledge study. The CMM has been used in this paper as a base for creation questions of primary quantitative research. Research results have been evaluated using the statistical methods. The process control level of enterprises has been identified. Subsequently the relation between process control level and reached level of Return on Equity (ROE) has been examined as well as dependence between ROE and the utilization of ISO standards.

There are several solutions to improve manufacturing sustainability. This paper deals with the possibilities of the utilization of mathematical methods to solve optimization problems in the production process of furniture. The aim of the paper is to create a mathematical model of the key processes in order to maximize productivity and cost reduction by identifying key processes and parameters influencing manufacturing effectiveness. After identification of the parameters describing the key process (milling), an abstract model of the manufacturing process was created. Identified input parameters were the cutting velocity, feed rate, and a total volume of removed material. The output parameters were surface roughness, process duration, and process cost. The experimentally measured and calculated values of the output parameters were analyzed by a multiple regression tool. The method of an artificial neural network was used as a numeric method for optimization. The results showed that the maximal effectiveness of the sub-process can be achieved if the CNC machine is set at the cutting velocity of 4398.23 m•min −1 and feed rate of 11.00 m•min −1. Maximal values of the created neural network showed optimal values of input and output parameters.
