Empowerment is the process of enabling an individual to increase control over their lives, to gain control over the factors and decisions that shape their lives, to increase their resources and qualities and to build capacities to gain access in order to gain control. Empowerment is now increasingly used and connected to social development groups such as poor people, rural women, farmers, youth, older persons, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and marginalized people. Empowering women means encouraging them for their socioeconomic development. Farmers Interest Group (FIG) is a self-managed, independent group of farmers with a shared goal and interest. A study was conducted in Aurai block in two Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) namely, Hari Om ATMA Group and Chandani Mahila ATMA Group. Data for this study were collected through survey with the help of an interview schedule. After having interaction with the women beneficiaries and complete understanding of study area, the researcher was drafting a schedule to capture various aspects related to this study. It is observed that there is a positive transformation in the life of women after being a part of the Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs).

It helps an individual to communicate more effectively with the people around them. It not only helps to facilitate the process of sharing of information with others but also helps people to enhance their knowledge. Therefore, the importance of communication cannot be underestimated. This study was performed at the village of Masinadih in Samastipur district of Bihar state. The word "Underprivileged" refers to a "group of persons deprived of a number of fundamental rights". They are categorized under the Dalit and Mahadalit groups from the economic status and caste perspective. As per the need of the study, it was imperative to develop various communication aids on the selected messages related to health and nutritional practices.

A study was undertaken in Masinadih village of Samastipur district, Bihar, to study the socio- ec... more A study was undertaken in Masinadih village of Samastipur district, Bihar, to study the socio- economic and socio-personal profile of the Underprivileged community. The socio-economic and socio-personal profile of 50 respondents were assessed. For this purpose, primary data have been collected. The findings of the present investigation indicate that majority of the respondents (66 percent) were in the young age group and all respondents (100 percent) were from schedule caste. The maximum number of respondents (48 percent) were illiterate. The majority of the respondents (56 percent) were married. All respondents (100 percent) were from Hindu religion. The maximum number of respondents (6 percent) were having up to 5 members in their family. The majority of the respondents (72 percent) were having nuclear families. For this the developed knowledge test was subjected to the 50 respondents. For this purpose, primary data have been collected. The findings of the present investigation indicate that most of the respondents 58% were in the category of medium knowledge with mean percent score of 66.95 while 40% percent respondents were in the category of low knowledge with mean percent scores of 45.96 and 8% percent respondents were in the category of high knowledge with mean per cent scores of 100.

Women are the most affected and have been on leave for a long time. The word “Underprivileged” refers to a “group of persons deprived of a number of fundamental rights”. Underprivileged women are discriminated against not only by the upper caste individuals but also within their own communities. Underprivileged women’s issues and problems vary from those of other Indian women. Owing to illiteracy, poor environmental sanitation and inadequate awareness, the health and nutritional status of Underprivileged women is worse than others, rendering them more vulnerable to health problems. The present study is related to the constraints faced by them in acquiring various health and nutritional practices.
