Indramayu Regency is one of the rice centers in West Java with 56% of its area is rice fields. But in recent years rice productivity has been reduced due to drought. The Indramayu District Agriculture Office noted that in 2012, 2015 and 2018 paddy fields. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of 2012, 2015 and 2018 wetland agricultural drought areas and their relationship with rainfall in Indramayu Regency. The VHI drought index (Vegetation Health Index) is used to determine the pattern of distribution of the drought area of agricultural land. VHI is a combination of VCI (Vegetation Condition Index) and TCI (Temperature Condition Index) derived from NDVI data processing (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), LST (Land Surface Temperature) of Landsat 7 and 8 images. The processing resul...

Compared to the previous decade, there are more than twice the number of floods in the world. Essentially, flood often occurs in lowland area with compact river systems. Unlike the case that often happened in the area around the Upper Citarum Watershed, floods occur because of the physical characteristics of the basin in the bowl-like form. In addition, rain that occur consecutively for a certain period of time in a day can result a surplus runoff water falling to the surface of the earth. Observation of rainfall has actually been carried out quantitatively since the 19th century. Satellite-based rainfall observation has the main advantage of being quite accurate in spatial and temporal coverage. This research is intended to see the pattern of rainfall distribution in relation to flooding in the Upper Citarum Watershed using remote sensing methods to process satellite images of PERSIANN CCS i...

Soil erosion in Java estimated the loss of US $400 million per year. This study aims to estimate of erosion rate by using the Modify Universal Soil Loss Equation (MUSLE) is already integrated into the modeling Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT). SWAT can provide simulation results based on the physical characteristics of the Hydrological Response Unit (HRU) that is considering climate parameters such as rainfall, temperature, solar radiation, humidity, and wind speed. The results showed that the highest rate of erosion on the upstream sub-basin 15 (Ci Janggel) to contribute to the erosion of 184 tons/ha/year classified as heavy erosion. The high rate of erosion occurs on the characteristics of the area with 25-45 % of slope, clay loam soils, land use, and agricultural drylands.
