BACKGROUND: The roles of husbands to keep the psychological condition of pregnant and postpartum ... more BACKGROUND: The roles of husbands to keep the psychological condition of pregnant and postpartum mothers are low. Many husbands could not perform full attention and support during the pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period. Heretofore, the researchers do not find studies that include the roles of the husband from antenatal until postnatal care during the COVID-19 pandemic. AIM: This research aims to create Mezile’s model in the form of back massage and self-hypnosis based on information and technology with adequate design and effective implementation to lose the anxiety of postpartum mothers. This model also involved husbands taking the role from the antenatal until postnatal care. METHODS: This research and development used a true experimental design with pre- and post-test control group design. The researchers used simple random sampling. The subjects consisted of 50 participants in the experimental group and 50 participants in the control group. The experimental group receive...

Universal Salt Iodization (USI) where above 90% household use iodized salt became the main program to optimized population iodine status. This study aimed to analyze iodine in salt, iodine status and thyroid functions from three different IDD endemic regions. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study, with women of reproductive age (15 to 45 y old) as subjects, conducted in plain area (Yogyakarta) city (n5 250), mountainous area (Bukit Tinggi city) (n5 249), and combination of mountaneous and plain area (Purworejo regency) (n5 249). Urinary iodine (UIE), prevalence of hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism (diagnostic based on combination of TSH and fT4 level), also the presence or absence and level of iodine in salt were assessed. Result: Iodized salt coverage have reached .90% household in all three region, while titration found 75.6% with adequate level of iodine in salt (.30 ppm), with wide range of iodine level in salt (0.00-218.2 ppm). With that condition, population in plain and combination of plain and mountainous area have more than adequate iodine status (218 mg/L and 224 mg/L), while population in mountaneous area still in mild iodine deficiency status (UIE median of 88 mg/L). Most population is in euthyroid condition. Hyperthyroidism, subclinical hyperthyroidism, secondary hyperthyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, and hypothyroidism were found in 0.7%, 4.8%, 0.4%, 8.9%, and 0.9% population consecutively. There were no relationship between iodine status and prevalence of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, but subclinical hypothyroidism most prevalent in excess UIE population (12.5% vs 8.3%). Conclusion: All three regions have achieved USI target. But the risk of iodine deficiency still found in mountaneous area. Household iodized salt coverage discrepancy between rapid test and titration strengthen the need of more accurate but efficient test of iodine level in salt.

Thyroid dysfunction is frequently associated with psychiatric problems, such as anxiety or depression. On the other hand, thyroid dysfunction patients have little reason to be concerned about their mental health. Childbearing age women are included in the priority category because they require excellent health conditions to prepare for pregnancy and parenthood. Objective. This study aimed to investigate relationship between thyroid function (as evaluated by thyroid hormone levels and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels) with mental health in childbearing age women. There were no research found on the impact of cognitive stimulation combined with iodine intervention on child development status. The aim of this study is measuring the effect of parenting based cognitive stimulation combined with low dose salt intervention (30 ± 5 ppm) on child iodine status, home quality of care, and child cognitive development. Thyroid dysfunction may lead to the development of the metabolic syndrome. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between thyroid dysfunction and metabolic parameters in IDD clinic patients, Magelang Research and Development Center. A cross-sectional study of 83 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, TSH, and free T4 concentration had been measured in all subjects. BMI and blood pressure were measured. Concentrations of lipids, triglycerides, free T4, and TSH were analyzed. The mean age of the patient was 33.5 ± 8.6 of whom 6 (7.2 %) subclinical hypothyroidism, 17 (20.5 %) overt hyperthyroidism, and 17 (20.5 %) had subclinical hyperthyroidism. There was positive relationship between TSH and systolic; whereas, FT4 was associated with BMI, systole, and diastole after adjustment for age. Overt hyperthyroidism had significantly higher odds of hypertension after adjustment for age and BMI (OR 5.557 (1.310-23.578), p<0.05). Hyperthyroidism may induce hypertension.

The most important factors are poor cognitive stimulation and parenting. This study aimed to analyse the impact of parenting training on maternal skills to mediate cognitive development in children. The study was quasi-experimental pre-post with a control group design. A total of 78 mothers and their children, aged four to five years, from Purworejo participated in the research. Palpation to assess maternal goiter status and Mother-Child Picture-Talk Task (MCPTT) assessed the ability to perform cognitive mediation in children. The Smart Mother Class, a parenting skill intervention, was given for six months (16 meetings), each lasting 60-90 minutes. The risk of low family resources, both economic and caring resources, is indicated by the work and education of the fathers and mothers. Most mothers and fathers have elementary school education and below (60.3)....
