The study is based on a survey design and cross-sectional. The survey was conducted on 41 quality improvementadoption colleges in Iraqi higher-education institutions (HEIs). The study hypotheses were tested through correlation and regression analyses. The results supported the main hypotheses for the study, suggesting that Iraqi HEIs can benefit from KM processes. Pearson's correlation pointed out that all processes of KM have significant correlations with academic performance measures. Regression analysis showed significantly positive relationships. In addition, statistical analysis also indicated that the KM processes should be implemented collectively rather than separately. In conclusion, this study provided insight and further understanding of the effect of KM processes on academic performance, and therefore, allows decision-makers to get in-depth knowledge about the impact of KM processes in Iraqi HEIs context.

In order to keep abreast of these changes, companies need to change the way they manage their existing (conventional) operations management. Quality management practice (QMP) is a modern operational management practice that has been proven to promote effectiveness of company performance by many researchers. This exploratory study examined how QMP affects company performance through research and development (R&D). A total of 138 high-technology based companies in Malaysia that engaged in R&D activities took part in this study, which adopted the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method, based on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings of the study supported the importance of QMP, R&D resources, and company performance. This study also supported the QMP as a mediator between the R&D resources and company performance. Besides contributing to increasing knowledge and understanding of the relationship between QMP, R&D resources, and performance of high-technology based companies, the findings of this research coupld also allow the practitioner to obtain a deeper knowledge concerning the effects QMP in R&D when making related decisions.

It applies established theory from customer sutisfaction and educational psychology research to a sample of students. A total of 112 students undertaking undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management were involved in this study. Research results indicate that teaching and learning quality factors were strongly positive related to students satisfaction and explained 31.5 per cent of the variance in students degree programme satisfaction. /- -

Design/methodology/approach – This survey-based study was a cross-sectional study. The samples were drawn by using stratified random sampling procedure from large Indonesian manufacturing companies based on the directory provided by the Data and Information Center of Indonesian Ministry of Industry with the final number of respondents of 139. Four main hypotheses were developed and tested statistically by applying multivariate data analyses. Findings – The results provided evidence that lean practices should be implemented holistically. Lean practices have a positive and significant impact on both OP and BP. Moreover, OP partially mediates the relationship between lean practices and BP. Research limitations/implications – The data used in this survey represent self-reporting by mainly the middle or top management in production. Practical impli...

A requirement for exporting products to most major markets in the world today is verification that the producer has appropriate quality systems in place. The primary means of providing this verification is through ISO 9000 certification. Developing nations have recognized that building a reputation for quality is key to their success. Malaysia and Turkey are two such developing nations. Dr. Mahathir’s Vision 2020 provided the impetus for industrialization in Malaysia and the corresponding need for quality systems. The founding of SIRIM to provide ISO certification was in response to this need for quality system verification in Malaysia. In Turkey the motivation for quality came from the forming of the European Union and Turkey’s desire to become a member. Companies who desire to market to countries in the European Union are expected to be ISO certified. Separate...

The study was based on a survey design and time horizon was cross-sectional with least researcher's interference. Considering the domain of this study, the survey was carried out in 64 colleges selected randomly from four public universities in Iraq, which adopted quality improvement practices. The final number of participates for this study was 40 colleges. The study hypotheses were tested using correlation and multivariate analyses. The results supported all hypotheses posited for the study, suggesting that HEIs can benefit from TQM core elements. The correlation analysis indicated that all core elements of TQM have significant correlations with knowledge sharing. Regression analyses indicated significantly positive relationships among the study's constructs. Furthermore, statistical analysis also indicated that the TQM core elements should be implemented holistically rather than individually. In conclusion, this study provided insight and further understanding of the effect of TQM core elements on knowledge sharing, and therefore, allows practitioners to get in depth knowledge about the impact of TQM core elements in HEIs context.

Knowing the segments is imperative to help decide the type and amount of resources that should be allocated to target the desired segments. This study segmented five star hotel guests in Langkawi using sociodemography and psychography as segmentation bases. Applying Ward's Minimum Variance Method as the clustering technique, the findings of this research indicated that there are three categories of tourists that the participating hotels need to consider when designing their marketing strategies. The three clusters were the Fun and Excitement Holiday Seeker, the Active Weekend Holiday Seeker, and the Quiet and Meaningful Elitist Holiday Seeker: The characteristics of each cluster were described and a comparison of sociodemographic characteristics across clusters was made. Suggestions on how to best target each identified cluster were also provided.
