The aim of this study was to assess and compare motives for exercise participation among basketba... more The aim of this study was to assess and compare motives for exercise participation among basketball players and football players. Sixty Delhi state levelbasketball players and football players(n=60) were selected for the purpose of this study. The data was collected by using the Exercise Motivations Inventory 2 (EMI-2) developed by Markland and Ingledew. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and independent sample 't' test. There was no significant difference in Stress Management, Endurance, and Nimbleness among basketball players and football players. While there was significant difference in Affiliation and Competition among basketball players and football players. The level of significance was set at 0.05.

The aim of the study was to access and compare lower back and hamstring muscles flexibility among... more The aim of the study was to access and compare lower back and hamstring muscles flexibility among 14 to 17 year old school boys. For the purpose of this study 400 school boys studying in various schools of Delhi were selected. The age of the subjects ranged between 14 to 17 years. The selected subjects were divided into four groups, Fourteen (n=100), Fifteen (n=100), Sixteen (n=100) and Seventeen (n=100) according to their age category. Lower back flexibility was measured by sit and reach test using Flexomeasure. Descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA and for pair wise comparison LSD was applied. There was a significant difference between fourteen and seventeen year age group and fifteen and seventeen year age group while there was no significant difference in the remaining age groups. It can be concluded that seventeen age boys have better lower back flexibility than fourteen and fifteen year old school boys. The significant value was set at 0.05.

Two hundred government school boys (n=200) and two hundred private school boys (n=200) were selected randomly with age ranging between 14 to 17 years. The subjects were taken from different government and private schools of Delhi and were assessed for body fat percentage using skinfold caliper. Triceps and calf skinfold sites were selected and slaughters equation for calculating body fat percentage was used. The data was analysed by using descriptive statistics and independent sample ‘t’ test. There was a significant difference in body fat percentage between government and private school boys. It was concluded that private school boys have more body fat percentage than government boys. The level of significance was set at 0.05.

The purpose of the study was to compare depression, stress, and anxiety between sports and non-sp... more The purpose of the study was to compare depression, stress, and anxiety between sports and non-sports persons for this purpose the subject (sports person) were selected from Department of Physical Education (IGIPESS), University Of Delhi, Vikaspuri New Delhi and non-sports person were selected from coaching institute these are preparing for competitive exams. For this study DASS questionnaire was used as a tool to collect the data. The age group of the subject was 20 to 25Years. Descriptive statistic and independent paired “t” test was applied. There was a significant difference in depression and stress between sports and non-sports persons. While the results also revealed that there was no significant difference in anxiety between sports and non-sports person. The significant difference was fixed at 0.05 level.

The data was collected by using the Brunel Mood Scale (BRUMS) developed by Terry et al. The data was analyzed by using group statistics and independent sample test. The results of the present study revealed that there was a significant difference obtained in the anger, confusion,depression, fatigue, tension and vigor between female and male teachers. The level of significance was set at 0.05.

N=30 competitors (15 Senior boys Archery players and 15senior girls Archery players of India) were chosen as subjects of the study. The age of the subject were 19 to 30 years with the mean age (M= 25.76). For the appraisal of focused state anxiety "Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2" (CSAI-2) was utilized as standard measure and t-test was used as factual apparatus for investigating information. Result shown that that the level of focused state anxiety among the senior boys and non-senior boys Archery players in India was not noteworthy (P ≥0.05). There was no huge contrast between the level of somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety and self-confidence among senior boys and non-senior boys Archery Players in India (P ≥0.05). Thirty school heads, general line teachers and physical teachers (n=30) were selected randomly as subjects (10 from each category) from different schools of district Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. The data was collected by usingDASS, the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The results of the present study revealed that there was significant difference in the depression and stress between the different categories of school employees but there was no significant difference in anxiety between the different categories of school employees. The level of significance was set at 0.05.

The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between height, weight, triceps skinfo... more The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between height, weight, triceps skinfold and biceps skinfold. The subjects were selected from different schools of Delhi. The age of the selected subjects for this study ranged between 14 to 17 years. Height, weight was measured by stadiometer, weighing machine respectively and triceps and calf skinfold was measured by skinfold caliper. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation was applied to check the results. The results revealed that height and weight are positively correlated, triceps and calf skinfold were strongly positively correlated and triceps and calf skinfold were positively correlated with weight. The significant value was set at 0.05.

Forty four urban and rural adolescent boys (n=44) who at least have played inter school sports competition were selected randomly with age ranging between 14-18 years. The data was collected by using the CSAI-2 developed by Martens, Vealey, and Burton (1990). The data was analyzed by using group statistics and independent sample test. The results of the present study revealed that there was a significant a significant difference in cognitive anxiety and self-confidence between rural and urban adolescent boys but there is no significant difference in somatic anxiety between rural and urban adolescent boys of Kashmir. The level of significance was set at 0.05.
