Back ground There is evidence that the prevalence of certain noncommunicable diseases, such as d... more Back ground There is evidence that the prevalence of certain noncommunicable diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, is increasing rapidly, particularly in the urban areas, and that significant demands are being made on the health services by patients with these diseases. Methods & Materials Descriptive survey approach and design was used by selecting random sample technique. From Three village’s i. e Karad, Kale & Vadgaon, samples were collected. The 400 Families were selected randomly for door-to-door survey to find out cases of diabetes & hypertension. The structured questionnaire is used data collection& analyzed by using descriptive & inferential statistics. Results Maximum 31 (41.33%) from age group 51-60 years, 50 (66.67%) female, 41 (54.66%) were having HTN, 22(29.33%) having DM & 12 (16%) having DM & HTN & taking regular treatment. 28(37.33%) having hereditary history about disease. Most mother and fetuses in labour are healthy; emergencies can and do occur during intrapartum period. An adequate knowledge of what to do during an emergency is a requisite for mothers during labour. Careful maternal and fetal assessment and to make them survive during the labour and birth through the increasing the knowledge of Primi Para mothers. By using non probability purposive sampling technique with randomly allocation of groups by tossing coin. The experimental group was given ‘Krishna Poshak mix’ laddus 50 gms two laddus daily for one month. Whereas control group receives adlib ICDS supplementary diet for one month. Objectives: To assess the knowledge, attitude & practices regarding reproductive health among adolescent girls from secondary school students, of Karad taluka, India. Materials & methods: An epidemiologic study was undertaken using cross-sectional study method among 60 school-going adolescent girls’ aged13-16 years. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used for data collection. Statistical analysis was done by calculating the percentages of each frequency. Results: maximum participants were aware about menstruation prior to menarche, and mothers were the main source of information for them. Depression in patients with cancer not only affects the patients themselves but also has a major negative impact on their families. OBJECTIVES : To assess the level of depression among cancer patients& to find an association between demographic data and level of depression among cancer patients admitted in Krishna hospital karad. MATERIAL AND METHODSdescriptive survey approach, 60 samples by using structured interview technique (Hamilton depression rating scale) used by convenience sampling technique. Results: Hamilton depression rating scale used and out of 60 patients 14(23.33%) are normal, 24(40%) had mild depression, 20(33.33%) had moderate depression and 2(3.33%) had severe depression. India is free from Yellow Fever. Government of India has provided facility for vaccination against Yellow Fever for those who are travelling to yellow fever endemic countries. Objective: Present study was conducted to understand the travel purpose, pattern and socio-demographic profile of persons coming for Yellow Fever Vaccination. Materials & Methods: Study was conducted in Yellow Fever Vaccination (YFV) centre of APHO Mumbai. A total of 150 persons attending YFV centre of APHO Mumbai were enrolled for the study by using systematic random sampling. Due to this ‘old age’ people may face number of psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, feeling of insecurity and social isolation etc. OBJECTIVES:- To assess the level of stress and depression experienced by senior citizens and coping strategies adopted by senior citizens. METHODS & MATERIALS:- a descriptive survey approach, non-experimental research design was adopted, 50 samples were included by Convenience sampling technique. RESULTS: - According to stress scale, majority of samples 39 (78%) are having stress sometimes & very few 2(4%) are there who is never getting stress. As per depression scale, majority of samples 27(54%) are always having depression and majority of the samples 29(58%) are using coping strategies sometimes where as minimum samples15 (30%) are using always. Background: A girl child is undesirable in many reason of the world. The world is correctly depri... more Background: A girl child is undesirable in many reason of the world. The world is correctly deprived of over 100 million women. China and India are alone responsible for 80 million missing females. According to census statistics, the experts now estimated that there had been a continuous dieseline in sex ratio, but it has shown some improvement in the last 10 year, the state of Kerala with 1081females of every 1000 males has the best sex ratio in India where as in the state like Haryana the sex ratio has gone done badly. The current sex ratio of India has improved from 933 in 2001 to 940 in 2012 that is 940 females of every 1000 males. Methods: The study group comprised of 60 grandmothers residing in Malkapur. An attitude scale was used to assess attitude and family support. The descriptive design was used; grandmothers were selected by using purposive sampling technique. Result-The finding of the revealed that the mean attitude score of grandmother (17.867%).the mean family support (15.650%).There was significant difference in the attitude and family support towards the birth of girl child. Conclusion-Grandmother had more favorable attitude towards the birth of the girl child where as family support to the girl child was unfavorable
