Given the complexity of business processes and the variety of users, it is a sought-after feature to show a business process with different views, so as to cater for the diverse interests, authority levels, etc., of users. This paper presents a framework named FlexView to support process abstraction and concretisation. A novel model is proposed to characterise the structural components of a business process and describe the relations between these components. Two algorithms are developed to formally illustrate the realisation of process abstraction and concretisation in compliance with the defined consistency rules. A prototype is also implemented with WS-BPEL to prove the applicability of the approach.

This capability helps improve the privacy protection, authority control, flexible display, etc., in business process modelling. One of approaches to generate process views is to allow users to construct an aggregate on their underlying processes. However, most aggregation approaches stick to a strong assumption that business processes are always well-structured, which is over strict to BPMN. Aiming to build process views for non-well-structured BPMN processes, this paper investigates the characteristics of BPMN structures, tasks, events, gateways, etc., and proposes a formal process view aggregation approach to facilitate BPMN process view creation. A set of consistency rules and construction rules are defined to regulate the aggregation and guarantee the order preservation, structural and behaviour correctness and a novel aggregation technique, called EP-Fragment, is developed to tackle non-well-structured BPMN processes.

In this demo we show an example of such an application and discuss how Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) makes the application fully flexible and easily extensible. The application brings SOA close to the end-user and gives possibilities hardly possible with other approaches.

These were previously only available in separate specialized devices with limited functionality or non-mobile equipment. In addition, mobile platform providers have taken a more open approach, enabling community-members to develop applications for their platforms and to deliver them as readily consumable services to the public. Both trends combined have led to a significant increase in the number of innovative mobile applications. More recently, leveraging mobile users' geolocation for provision of services has become the focus of a number of organizations active in the field. In this paper we propose a solution that addresses some challenges when creating location based social networks and offering relevant services to participants in these networks. We have applied this solution in a use case with an Australian based transportation service provider.

A novel Instance Knowledge Network (IKN) is built to generate and maintain semantic knowledge at the word, type synonym set and instance levels. Related algorithms based on graph matching are developed to train IKN with probabilistic knowledge and to use IKN for probabilistic word sense disambiguation. Based on the Senseval-3 all-words task, we run extensive experiments to show the performance enhancements in different precision ranges and the rationality of probabilistic based automatic confidence evaluation of disambiguation. We combine our WSD algorithm with five best WSD algorithms in senseval-3 all words tasks. The results show that the combined algorithms all outperform the corresponding algorithms. .

Carrying out this activity manually can be time consuming, since it involves searching in large service repositories. We present Maestro for BPMN, a tool that allows to annotate and automatically compose activities within business processes. We explain the main assumptions and algorithms underlying the tool, and we overview what will be demonstrated at ESWC. This work is partly funded by the EU 6th Framework Programme, within Information Society Technologies (IST) under the SUPER project (http://www.ipsuper.org). Thanks also to Alina Dima, Florian Dörr, and Mario Karrenbrock for their coding support and Christian Drumm and Christian Brelage for their advice.

We argue that the relative XPath expressions, although not widely used, should be used in preference to absolute XPath expressions in extracting content from human-created Web documents. Evaluation of robustness covers four thousand queries executed on several hundred webpages. We show that in referencing parts of real world dynamic HTML documents, relative XPath expressions are on average significantly more robust than absolute XPath ones.
