We studied the embryonic morphology of Physalaemus camacan and P. signifer, two small foam-nestin... more We studied the embryonic morphology of Physalaemus camacan and P. signifer, two small foam-nesting frogs endemic to the Atlantic Forest. We analysed the development of transient embryonic structures and of the larval oral disc. These embryos have features typical of most congeneric species, such as the kyphotic dorsal curvature, three pairs of gills and the configuration of hatching and adhesive glands. Main differences regarding embryos of the P. cuvieri clade are the larger size and yolk provision at tailbud stage, less developed external gills and an apparently novel pattern of oral marginal papilla ontogeny. While some shifts could be correlated with variant modes of oviposition, others appear to be developmental modifications not related with ecomorphological aspects.
Maternal depression is known as an adversity condition that leads to more negative maternal child... more Maternal depression is known as an adversity condition that leads to more negative maternal child rearing practices, as well as being wildly associated with more behavior difficulties for children. These associations, however, are not very consistent regarding the influence of child sex. The present study aimed to approach these variables simultaneously, with the main objective of verifying the predictive effects of maternal depression, parental practices and child sex to the behavior of school aged boys and girls. Data was obtained from a community-based sample of 101 mother-child pairs, with children of both sexes between the ages of 8 and 11 years, distributed between two groups, as following: G1: 51 pairs, whose mothers were systematically diagnosed with depression; and G2: 50 pairs, whose mothers didn't present history of depressive disorder. For the inclusion and allocation of the groups, mothers answered the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (SCID), and children answered Raven's Coloured Progressive Matrices. Individual and face-to-face evaluations were conducted. Mothers responded to a General Questionnaire, related to sociodemographic and family data, to the Parenting Style Inventory, and to the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), a screening instrument for children's behavioral indicators. Data were coded according to the technical recommendations and analyzed by statistical procedures (p≤0.05). The comparative analyses showed, with statistical significance, that the mothers of the depression group (G1) reported more negative parental practices, as well as more practices of neglect, inconsistent punishment and permissive discipline. Regarding the behavioral indicators, children whose mothers had been diagnosed with depression presented more emotional symptoms. As for the comparisons between boys and girls, it was identified that the mothers of boys reported more use of negative control; and boys presented higher scores of behavior problems in general, conduct problems and relationship problems when compared to girls, as well as less prosocial behavior resources. Significant associations were identified between maternal depression with predominantly negative practices, children's emotional symptoms and low income. The covariance analyses indicated that maternal depression lost the predictive effect to children's behavior when the effects of child sex were controlled, but kept the predictive effects to the increase report of negative parental practices. Multivariate regression models showed that masculine sex, neglect, physical abuse and permissive discipline were the most important predictors of the increase report of behavior problems; in these analyses, being a boy was shown to be a more important risk factor for behavior problems than maternal depression. These results can contribute to the planning of more effective prevention and intervention programs for the general population, with a focus on guidelines on parental practices, and on particular demands of boys and girls, in order to minimize maternal and child mental health problems.

O presente artigo teve como proposito identificar as principais reclamacoes de clientes de uma industria de autopecas, situada no Sul de Minas Gerais. Com isso, fez-se um levantamento junto ao banco de dados da empresa em questao, para avaliar as reclamacoes entre os anos de 2014 a 2015. Os dados coletados foram organizados, seguindo os tipos de problemas como: visual, pintura, dimensional, mistura, etc. Quanto a classe de problemas com mais acionamento por clientes, esta o visual (45%). This study addresses a practical application of road works on soft soils, through a case study re... more This study addresses a practical application of road works on soft soils, through a case study related to the construction of the BR-470 doubling track viaduct meeting embankment, in the intersection with BR-101. The studied area is located in the city of Navegantes, Santa Catarina. The presence of a reinforced earth structure stands out. The evaluated geotechnical solution consists on the use of EPS blocks (Expanded Polystyrene) for the construction of the mentioned embankment. At first, a theorical foundation is presented based on the following topics: soft soils, theories used on soil mechanics, parameters and geotechnical tests, constructive models of embankments on soft soils and, at last, EPS specifications. The multifaceted enzyme-like activity of CeO 2 nanoparticles (CeNPs) expands the prospects for th... more The multifaceted enzyme-like activity of CeO 2 nanoparticles (CeNPs) expands the prospects for their potential biomedical applications. In this regard, there is a need for a comprehensive analysis of the redox behavior of CeO 2 nanoparticles in relation to key molecules of free radical homeostasis. Here, the prooxidant potential of CeNPs towards H 2 O 2 was investigated to elucidate both prooxidant capacity and prooxidant activity of CeNPs. To describe the kinetics in the luminol-H 2 O 2 system at pH 8.5 upon the addition of citrate-stabilized CeO 2 sol (3 nm), a numerical model of three reactions is proposed. The rate constants being a measure of prooxidant activity, were k 1 = 9.0 • 10 4 µM −1 min −1 , k 2 = 2.0 • 10 −6 µM −1 min −1 , k 3 = 2.9 • 10 −5 µM −1 min −1. The functionalization of CeO 2 nanoparticles surface with ammonium citrate increases their prooxidant capacity by twofold , while modification with maltodextrin decreases it by six-fold. It was shown that the prooxidant capacity of citrate-stabilized CeO 2 sol in Tris-HCl is approximately four-fold higher than in phosphate buffer solution at pH 7.4.

The increase in on-demand transport and new trends in micromobility, such as e-bikes and e-scooters, have become, along with walking and cycling, means of transport that promote sustainable urban mobility (Vij et al., 2013; Lima & Machado, 2019). They are cleaner transportation options used for short distances (Davies et al., 2020) which are important, mainly, for first/last mile travel, making necessary their integration with public transport (PT) (Meng et al., 2020). Public transportation provides an accessible and sustainable mobility service, essential for the economic vitality and well-being of society, especially for the promotion of social equity (Zuo et al., 2020). RESUMO A execução de intervenções na malha rodoviária para sua ampliação ou para sua melhoria imp... more RESUMO A execução de intervenções na malha rodoviária para sua ampliação ou para sua melhoria implicam interferências em diversos tipos de relevos, incluindo os ondulados e os montanhosos. Considerando a grande variedade de fatores físicos e antrópicos coexistentes ao longo dos traçados de interesse e ressaltando-se a ocorrência de eventos extremos de precipitações pluviométricas, a necessidade de se avaliar previamente a suscetibilidade a movimentos de massa nas encostas que margeiam as vias torna-se cada vez mais alta. A existência de estudos para identificação de áreas instáveis visa prevenir a ocorrência de transtornos aos usuários devido a interdições no tráfego, danos à infraestrutura e, até mesmo, a vítimas fatais. Na presente pesquisa, analisaram-se os deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais para um trecho da rodovia BR-280, localizado em Corupá e em São Bento do Sul, no norte de Santa Catarina. Para isso, foram levantados mapas da identificação do meio físico, bem como foram realizados ensaios de laboratório para a obtenção dos parâmetros de resistência dos solos. Com os dados obtidos, fez-se a interpretação dos deslizamentos translacionais e rotacionais, por meio dos modelos SHALSTAB e Bishop, respectivamente, os quais foram aplicados espacialmente em um Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG). Assim, adotou-se um padrão semafórico para a união dos resultados de deslizamentos translacionais e rotacionais, o qual indica, no mapa, as zonas de maior instabilidade, que requerem maior atenção, conduzindo à aplicação de medidas preventivas, como obras de contenção e de drenagem.

Para isto optou-se pela figura da Mulher Maravilha, a qual foi criada por William Moulton Marston, um defensor do feminismo, em 1941, e que se tornou simbolo do surgimento de um novo estereotipo de mulher, principalmente em um universo que ate entao era dominado apenas por herois masculinos. Sendo o uniforme e o corpo elementos que fazem parte da composicao imagetica da heroina, ambos foram escolhidos para a analise, a qual foi realizada atraves da comparacao de imagens e informacoes disponibilizadas nas diversas midias pesquisadas. Se ela realiza um trabalho do negativo, a negatividade que ela expressa impulsiona a subjetivacao, pois sua atividade e seus efeitos sao absolutamente necessarios, entre outros, para a construcao do duplo limite psiquico (Green) e para a realizacao do primeiro trabalho psiquico verdadeiro (Rosenberg). RESUMO A previsão e a remediação de problemas gerados pela ocorrência de movimentos de massa em t... more RESUMO A previsão e a remediação de problemas gerados pela ocorrência de movimentos de massa em taludes rodoviários têm ganhado repercussão e, por isso, têm sido alvos de estudos. O alto impacto ambiental, o elevado custo de manutenção e de recuperação e, também, as interdições no tráfego são exemplos de efeitos ocasionados pelos deslizamentos de encostas. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar o estudo e a análise de deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais para um trecho da rodovia BR-101, localizado na região sudoeste do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, entre os municípios de Paraty, de Angra dos Reis e de Mangaratiba. A metodologia utilizada para a previsão desses eventos baseou-se tanto no levantamento de mapas envolvendo os fatores físicos da região quanto em parâmetros de resistência dos solos, obtidos em ensaios de campo e de laboratório. Após a obtenção desses dados, realizou-se a análise da instabilidade dos taludes em questão. No caso de deslizamentos translacionais rasos, utilizou-se o modelo Shallow Slope Stability Model (SHALSTAB) e, por sua vez, no que diz respeito aos deslizamentos rotacionais, utilizou-se o método de Bishop, ambos aplicados sobre o Modelo Digital do Terreno (MDT). Dessa forma, através da união dos resultados de deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais, elaborou-se um mapa de padrão semafórico contendo zonas de maior e de menor instabilidade existentes ao longo do corpo estradal. Ao final, foram analisadas as áreas de maior instabilidade que requerem atenção e a posterior aplicação de soluções geotécnicas pertinentes.

The mechanisms underlying the impact of maternal depressive disorders on children's behaviors are... more The mechanisms underlying the impact of maternal depressive disorders on children's behaviors are still poorly understood, especially those concerning positive practices. This systematic review is intended to fill in this gap by taking into account the direct or mediating effects of maternal positive parenting practices. The main objective was to identify and analyze the methodologies and the main results reported by recent empirical studies that addressed the positive parenting practices of mothers with depression and their potential influence on children's behavioral problems and socialization. PRISMA normative guidelines were adopted and were included studies published from 2008 to 2020 and indexed to the main databases. The following combination of keywords was used: Parenting, Maternal Depress* and Depress* Mother. Thirty-two studies were analyzed, and 25 studies of which presented significant direct or mediating effects for positive parenting practices on children's outcomes. Low levels of these practices intensified internalizing and externalizing problems, while high levels increased children's social adjustment resources. These findings indicate that maternal positive parenting, in the context of maternal depression, eased children's behavior problems and favored socialization, which highlights the importance of preventive measures intended to improve the positive parenting skills of depressed mothers, as a way to prevent problems and promote children's mental health.

Na presente pesquisa, analisaram-se os deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais para um trecho da rodovia BR-280, localizado em Corupá e em São Bento do Sul, no norte de Santa Catarina. Para isso, foram levantados mapas da identificação do meio físico, bem como foram realizados ensaios de laboratório para a obtenção dos parâmetros de resistência dos solos. Com os dados obtidos, fez-se a interpretação dos deslizamentos translacionais e rotacionais, por meio dos modelos SHALSTAB e Bishop, respectivamente, os quais foram aplicados espacialmente em um Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG). Assim, adotou-se um padrão semafórico para a união dos resultados de deslizamentos translacionais e rotacionais, o qual indica, no mapa, as zonas de maior instabilidade, que requerem maior atenção, conduzindo à aplicação de medidas preventivas, como obras de contenção e de drenagem.

Para isto optou-se pela figura da Mulher Maravilha, a qual foi criada por William Moulton Marston, um defensor do feminismo, em 1941, e que se tornou simbolo do surgimento de um novo estereotipo de mulher, principalmente em um universo que ate entao era dominado apenas por herois masculinos. Sendo o uniforme e o corpo elementos que fazem parte da composicao imagetica da heroina, ambos foram escolhidos para a analise, a qual foi realizada atraves da comparacao de imagens e informacoes disponibilizadas nas diversas midias pesquisadas. Se ela realiza um trabalho do negativo, a negatividade que ela expressa impulsiona a subjetivacao, pois sua atividade e seus efeitos sao absolutamente necessarios, entre outros, para a construcao do duplo limite psiquico (Green) e para a realizacao do primeiro trabalho psiquico verdadeiro (Rosenberg). RESUMO A previsão e a remediação de problemas gerados pela ocorrência de movimentos de massa em t... more RESUMO A previsão e a remediação de problemas gerados pela ocorrência de movimentos de massa em taludes rodoviários têm ganhado repercussão e, por isso, têm sido alvos de estudos. O alto impacto ambiental, o elevado custo de manutenção e de recuperação e, também, as interdições no tráfego são exemplos de efeitos ocasionados pelos deslizamentos de encostas. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar o estudo e a análise de deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais para um trecho da rodovia BR-101, localizado na região sudoeste do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, entre os municípios de Paraty, de Angra dos Reis e de Mangaratiba. A metodologia utilizada para a previsão desses eventos baseou-se tanto no levantamento de mapas envolvendo os fatores físicos da região quanto em parâmetros de resistência dos solos, obtidos em ensaios de campo e de laboratório. Após a obtenção desses dados, realizou-se a análise da instabilidade dos taludes em questão. No caso de deslizamentos translacionais rasos, utilizou-se o modelo Shallow Slope Stability Model (SHALSTAB) e, por sua vez, no que diz respeito aos deslizamentos rotacionais, utilizou-se o método de Bishop, ambos aplicados sobre o Modelo Digital do Terreno (MDT). Dessa forma, através da união dos resultados de deslizamentos translacionais rasos e rotacionais, elaborou-se um mapa de padrão semafórico contendo zonas de maior e de menor instabilidade existentes ao longo do corpo estradal. Ao final, foram analisadas as áreas de maior instabilidade que requerem atenção e a posterior aplicação de soluções geotécnicas pertinentes.

The mechanisms underlying the impact of maternal depressive disorders on children's behaviors are... more The mechanisms underlying the impact of maternal depressive disorders on children's behaviors are still poorly understood, especially those concerning positive practices. This systematic review is intended to fill in this gap by taking into account the direct or mediating effects of maternal positive parenting practices. The main objective was to identify and analyze the methodologies and the main results reported by recent empirical studies that addressed the positive parenting practices of mothers with depression and their potential influence on children's behavioral problems and socialization. PRISMA normative guidelines were adopted and were included studies published from 2008 to 2020 and indexed to the main databases. The following combination of keywords was used: Parenting, Maternal Depress* and Depress* Mother. Thirty-two studies were analyzed, and 25 studies of which presented significant direct or mediating effects for positive parenting practices on children's outcomes. Low levels of these practices intensified internalizing and externalizing problems, while high levels increased children's social adjustment resources. These findings indicate that maternal positive parenting, in the context of maternal depression, eased children's behavior problems and favored socialization, which highlights the importance of preventive measures intended to improve the positive parenting skills of depressed mothers, as a way to prevent problems and promote children's mental health.
