This paper brings into question a new imperative in current education: the teaching curriculum and educators must find ways to meet the needs of students with a wide range of experiences, skills and interests. Understanding the ways in which cultural specificity influences the educational context, opens the way for better communication between teachers and students. Teachers need to understand not only how culture influences student behavior, but also how it influences their own perceptions and behaviors. Like students, teachers reflect in their classroom attitudes preferences, perceptions, abilities, and expectations that specifically shape their communication. Teachers often question culture, viewing it as a limitation of the student. Students who overcome their culture succeed. Students who do not want to make this adjustment fail. Teachers rarely reflect on t...

However, many researchers recognize a number of attributes as easy to define and interpret. In this paper we will carry out a detailed analysis of each of these components of the basic model of communication (Hargie, O., Dickson, D. 2004, Dickson, 2001, Hargie and Tourish, 1999, Dickson et al., 1997). Interpersonal communication is a transactional, intentional, multidimensional, irreversible and (possibly) inevitable process. It is strictly determined by factors such as the situational context of the person, cognitive, affective or temporal elements. The participants in the communication carry and reflect the whole personal “baggage”, of which the accumulated knowledge and experiences, motives, interests, values, emotions, attitudes, expectations and personal dispositions are part. To these are added the self-image, the beliefs about one’s own abilities to succeed (self-efficacy). Al...

Current education has already included communication competencies as independent objectives in the education of young generations. Communication is a multidisciplinary existential basis and that is why its understanding is not easy, and must be approached scientifically, conceptually and structurally. This paper aims to emphasize the importance of communication in the teaching-learning process and its direct correlation with school success but also with success in life. Teachers need communication more than anyone. Their verbal communication occupies 70% of a class lesson (Haslett, 1987). The appeal to the elements of emotional intelligence, to the motivation / interests of the students, becomes a necessity and at the same time they are constituted as factors that can improve and make efficient the didactic communication. In this paper we will analyze the main functions of teacher-student communication (g...

There are many ways to bring the arts into the classroom on a daily basis. But how to do it? On the basis of the review, it is clear that there are compelling reasons to nurture arts education in the elementary years. And it is also clear that there is no single approach best suited for all students; what is required is a multiplicity of approaches Here are four reasons for cultivating a wide number of strategies for embedding arts education into the fabric of children's daily lives (Fox, 2000)196:1. Children differ from one another and, consequently, often learn in profoundly differing ways, even within the arts.2. Cultural and regional characteristics require flexibility in approaches to teaching and learning, in order to maximize opportunities for children to thrive in their communities.3. Teachers bring differing strengths and areas of expertise to the teaching of the arts.4. Arts education must include learning in, about, and through the art...

That includes the cultural diversity of children but also of the educators. The author ia particularly interested in helping teachers understand the ways in which diversity influences classroom communication and learning orientations. Analyzing intercultural competencies, there will be a better understanding of student-teacher communication and interaction. The new way of implementing the intercultural education ideas is the culturally responsive teaching, presented in this chapter with its most important characteristics. Teachers can also use different means of communication in classrooms, and that is why the author gave a great importance to exploring the communication skills that are indispensable to any teacher in his/her educational interaction. All these modern educational elements are includ...

T... more Popular theories abound when it comes to discussion on the role of emotions in decision making. Traditionally, affective register is characterized as opposed to the rational one, in management efficiency. This paper examines the possible connections between affective experience and efficiency in decision making. Contrary to popular belief, that generally, emotions affects in a negative way decision-making, from experiments it was found that individuals who have experienced stronger feelings and emotions have reached a higher level of performance in their work. Moreover, individuals who were able to better identify differences between their own emotional states, have reached a higher level of efficiency in decision making, via their ability to control the potential causes that induced those feelings. Experiments also suggest that individuals may induce feelings of different kinds of preferences in making decisions that will divert their decisions in a clear manner. From this perspect...

It is also widely agreed that emotions are a central feature in any psychological model of the human mind. Beyond these two points of agreement, however, almost everything else seems to be subject to debate. Some theorists view emotions as being characterized by unique and relatively consistent patterns of subjective, expressive, and physiological responses. Others note the surprisingly loose of coupling among emotion response components, and highlight the variability in responses associated with any particular emotion. Still others emphasize the idea that all mental states involve subjective experience, expressive behavior, and physiological responses and suggest that these three responses don’t really provide a unique definition of emotion per se...

This makes them different from the "monolithic" cultures of the 40's; but the question you can ask is: what in the culture unit remains and what has changed? In such renewed contexts, art itself goes into a process of change, of renewal. However, the creators of art appeals more or less the elements of culture, the patterns that already exist in the society in which they live.Ralph Smith (1983) professor of art and critical philosopher proposes four attitudinal modes of approaching the art of other cultures. The models which he analyzes reflect different types of interaction. He also emphasizes the educational implications of each of the proposed models. The starting idea is that of transposition of the categories used by Kaufman (1977) in the literature on visual arts. The first attitudinal model refers, to "those who r...

This concept puts into question the emotional level of personality (feelings, affections, emotion... more This concept puts into question the emotional level of personality (feelings, affections, emotions, passions, dispositions, along with motivation, self-control, and the ideal of life) and represents an important basis for structuring and developing the personality of the children. Our paper proposes an art intervention within the school, having as a working hypothesis the positive effect of art in the development of emotional intelligence at school age. Expression through art contributes to the harmonious development of personality, to the refinement of emotional meanings, and to a better communication and interaction with others. It can also contribute to shaping the ideal of life, to a better integration into the community. The correlation between portraits and emotions provides educators with an opportunity to better understand the children's personality, a precious means of educational intervention. This work proposes an experimental model that can be approached by any educator at different levels of education.

It also analyses the results of a psychological experiment realized with adolescents with PMD, using role playing method, body techniques and cathartic methods (drawing) aiming for optimization, personal development and improvement of resilience and rehabilitation of these teens. The research approach is integrated in the general trend of positive psychology, which focuses on cultivating individual skills and inclinations. It is also proposed a new method of working with teenagers with PMD: the intervention through art in school, which has proved to be beneficial in overcoming states of stress, nervousness or frustration. The experimental analysis is connected with a comprehensive project on teenagers with PMD, conducted by the Rusu, M. in previous years 2 .

The work proposed by us puts into question a new aspect of the process of creativity: finding and solving problems, inserting the cognitive and ideational elements into the artistic creative process. Artistic personality represents a complex interaction between diverse psychological factors: intellectual (lateral, creative-thinking and convergent thinking) and nonintellectual factors (temperament, character, motivation, affectivity, abyssal factors, special aptitudes). To these are added also, the biological factors (heredity, age, gender, mental health) and social factors (economical condition, historical epoch, socio-cultural conditions). In the same time, the artist's success also appears to be linked to his ability to find and solve new problems in artistic themes, to his ability to correctly formulate questions, and then to find original, genuine answers. The present paper summarizes the conclusions of some researches from abroad as well as the author's regarding the integration of young people with physical deficiencies and proposes a series of intervention methods in order to facilitate this process. Educators are the ones who have an important role to play in changing the negative perception of the deficient person and a better understanding of the concept of deficiency as well. Attitudes of rejection and marginalization are the consequences of social conditions induced by culture, language, history, mass media, etc. All of this can be changed by cultivating counter-values as empathy, acceptance of diversity, tolerance, respect and responsibility. A modern society has to be characterized by humanism, understanding of the other that is different, empathy towards suffering, tolerance and support for those with a deficiency. Our paper is an invitation for educators and social workers to be mindful of changing the negative attitude of young people towards those with disabilities.

Prominent representatives such as A. Maslow, C. Rogers or R. Assagiolli, along with the psychoanalyst C. G. Jung, have defined the basic concepts that help us today to better understand the individual evolutionary path from intuitive thinking structures and primary group integration, to elements of metacognition, creativity and integration into society through high moral values. Self-realization is a complex process that needs to be addressed from a number of perspectives, to provide a more complex and true picture of how individual development takes place. The paper aims to identify the role of family, interpersonal relationships, to understand which are the functions of knowledge and emotional experiences during development and actualization of individual's own potential. Achieving self-realization involves going through some stages, overcoming various difficulties and, above all, practicing self-regulation over individual emotions and behaviors. Education also provides the logical-scientific basis of going beyond the stages of self-realization, it provides insight and understanding, but it also means overcoming the theoretical boundaries, through personal involvement in actions that reflect moral and humanistic values. Positive and active approaches are ways that lead to self-realization.

In this paper we propose two hypotheses in the case of adolescents with physical motor deficiency (PMD) 1 : if positive elements can be identified in adolescent behavior with PMD, considered as components of resilience and if, by the psychological intervention, there was a better resilience. Psychological tests with deep resonance within the personality were applied: WM Personality Inventory, Introversion-Extraversion-Neurosis Test, DEAN Questionnaire. There have been also used projective methods. Following the quantitative-statistical and qualitative analysis of the results obtained in the group of teenagers with PMD, were identified a series of specific traits and also some compensatory features along with compensatory conducts as elements of resilience. Resilience is interpreted through compensation (features and conducts), through individual and social valorisation, through integrating teenagers with PMD in school and social groups. Other related concepts are discussed: compensation and expectance, idolizing normality, labelling etc.
