The end of the Long Century (1789–1914) saw accelerated growth in industry and arts, prominently ... more The end of the Long Century (1789–1914) saw accelerated growth in industry and arts, prominently displayed in world fairs and exhibitions. The worldwide suffrage movement impacted the arts in many ways, most notably in the emergence of women sculptors in the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893. This paper shows the overlap of four prominent sculptors and their interaction with the suffrage movement and the 19th Amendment in the United States.

The worldwide suffrage movement impacted the arts in many ways, most notably in the emergence of women sculptors in the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893.
