The basic purpose of this inquiry was to consider women\u27s issues (specifically women\u27s educ... more The basic purpose of this inquiry was to consider women\u27s issues (specifically women\u27s education) in two cultural contexts, Iranian and American. The differences and similarities of American and Iranian attitudes toward women\u27s education was investigated by conducting research on 80 Iranian and 83 American females and males, married and single, attending universities in the midwestern United States. The semantic differential technique was used to construct an instrument with 16 situations related to women\u27s education as concepts. The Iranian questionnaire was in Farsi; American subjects had an English version;Factor analysis showed six qualifiers to be loading high (.77-.85) in both language/culture groups (reasonable/unreasonable; good/bad, fair/unfair, right/wrong, acceptable/unacceptable, appropriate/inappropriate). Although many higher educational administrators recognize some benefits of online education, such as flexibility for students, they need to assess the value of online education for their own organizations before allocating resources. One of the concerns cited in the literature is the effectiveness of online education. Although several research studies have been done on the quality of online courses, more research is needed concerning the learning effectiveness of online courses. This study examines student’s perceptions of online courses versus face-to-face concerning several quality indicators mentioned in the literature. The results of our study indicate that for all the examined quality indicators the online and face-to-face learning are the same from students ’ perspectives. Many organizations are engaged in e-commerce using the Internet in addition to the brick and mort... more Many organizations are engaged in e-commerce using the Internet in addition to the brick and mortar methods of doing business. To this end, firms are engaged in designing functionally sound and effective websites to attract customers. Customizing organization's website is used as a tool for interacting and providing information for customers and business partners. Universities and colleges have been using their websites as a student recruiting means. An effective website design is very important for higher education institutions to attract students. This research explores the effectiveness of the university websites from students' perspectives. The findings of this study are compared to a study conducted ten years ago. Some recommendations are made based on the findings.

Anti-computer forensics conceals and deletes computer data. Currently, organizations rely on computer investigators or fraud specialists to conduct audits to unveil misconduct. There is an increased need to develop a preventative anti-computer forensics framework to assist organizations who are not privy to a specialist. In this paper, we propose a preventative anticomputer forensics framework and brief demonstration. This framework will assist organizations with strengthening their approach to thwarting tools and procedures conducted by criminals.

Organizations have been slow in adopting strategies and developing policies to secure their information resources. Firms’ budget allocations appear unaffected by the accelerated rate of computer security incidents. Although many higher educational administrators recognize the value and flexibility of online education, research is needed concerning course design, assessment, and student's perceptions of online programs before allocating more resources for online programming. This study examines student's perceptions of online courses/programs and concludes that higher levels of experience with online learning lead to more favorable perceptions about online courses. Suggestions for higher education institutions considering the adoption of online courses/programs are provided.

This study assesses one major Human Resource Development (HRD) project that was implemented in on... more This study assesses one major Human Resource Development (HRD) project that was implemented in one of the Less Developed Countries (LDCs), Eritrea. This study argues that some HRD projects may not positively affect organizational performance mainly due to the inability of organizations to effectively retain, motivate, and utilize the trained workforce. It concludes that HRD investments tend to be made relatively easily but what is difficult is retaining and effectively utilizing trained personnel. That is, HRD is necessary but not sufficient for enhancing organizational performance. Implications of these findings and future research directions are also discussed.
