Transformers are one of the important equipment widely used in the transmission, distribution, an... more Transformers are one of the important equipment widely used in the transmission, distribution, and power systems of electrical energy. An equivalent circuit can be created and losses can be calculated according to various operating experiments of the transformer. In the study, the variation of iron losses according to the voltage values applied to the primary circuit of the transformer was examined and a non-linear change in iron losses was observed depending on the applied voltage. When a load is connected to the secondary of the transformer, it has been observed that as the load increases, the iron losses do not change and remain constant depending on the load. The copper losses at various loads were calculated by increasing the load connected to the secondary transformer. It has been shown with experimental studies and calculations that copper losses show a non-linear variation depending on the load.

Üç fazlı asenkron motorlarda rotor gerilimi ve frekansının kaymaya bağlı olarak değiştiği bilinmektedir. Yapılan çalışmada rotoru sargılı asenkron motorun statoru yıldız bağlanarak şebeke gerilimi uygulanmıştır. Rotor sargı uçları kendi içerisinde yıldız bağlıdır. Bilezikler vasıtası ile dışarı çıkarılan uçlara rotor gerilimi ve frekansını ölçmek için voltmetre ve frekans-metre bağlanmıştır. Üniversal motor yardımıyla asenkron motor döner alan yönünde ve döner alanın tersi yönde döndürülmüş kaymaya bağlı olarak rotor gerilimi ve frekansının değişimi ile ilgili yorum yapılmıştır. Rotor, stator döner alan yönünde döndürüldüğünde rotor gerilimi ve frekansı rotor devri arttıkça azalmakta ve rotor hızı stator döner alan hızına ulaştığında ise kayma, rotor gerilimi ve frekansı sıfır olmaktadır. Rotor, stator döner alanının tersi yönünde döndürüldüğünde ve rotor devir sayısı arttırıldığında kayma değeri 1' in üzerine çıkmaktadır. Rotor gerilimi frekansı 200 Hz değerine ulaşıncaya kadar rotor devir sayısı yükseltilmiş, rotor gerilimi ve frekans değerlerinde artış görülmüştür.

In accordence with high cost and low effienciency, solar panels and arrays should be operated at the maximum power point (MPP). Photovoltaic cells have variable current and voltage characteristics and MPP depends on solar irradiations and ambient temperature. Obtaining maximum power and reaching highest efficiency level in these panels is an important research topic [1], . Maximum power poin tracking (MPPT) is developed to capture maximum power level in variable atmospherically conditions [3], . In this study, the behaviour of varied incremental conductance (IC) MPPT algorithm implemented to PV modules. Larger-medium-small fixedstep sizes and variable step size were applied, analyzed under various conditions. In order to compare the step size impressions, all cases were simulated on MATLAB/Simulink platform.

Applying an electric current to the coils causes a magnetic field around them. The self-induction... more Applying an electric current to the coils causes a magnetic field around them. The self-induction electromotive force in this magnetic field depends on time, coil current, and the number of turns. This magnetic field can magnetize ferromagnetic materials such as iron, cobalt, and nickel. In the study, different values of Alternating and Direct current were applied to the coil wound on the square-shaped carcass under core and coreless conditions. Obtained values are interpreted with tables and graphics. In the application made by placing the silicon core in the coil under varying values, it was observed that the values obtained in the core and coreless cases were the same. In alternating current measurements, it was determined that the electrical current values obtained under both conditions were different. In this study, the effect of the core on the coil has been demonstrated experimentally in the electrical system.

Therefore, it is important to take power at high level in photovoltaic systems. The electrical energy produced by the PV panels varies depending on the radiation and temperature, and in some cases this energy is not sufficient for the maximum power transfer of the micro-inverter. The maximum power transfer level of the inverter is increased by providing battery support near the input voltage at which the micro-inverter can deliver maximum power. The output power of the PV system is constantly measured by means of sensors, and the inverter input voltage range near enough to the gentle is kept at a certain level by the microprocessor and the proposed algorithm and PV system efficiency has been increased this way.

Micro grids can be installed where energy is needed. In this research, a smart grid system has been constituted in the sample micro level. The system consist from PV panels, wind turbine, charge regulators, battery, microcontroller system, and grid system. Energy demand of the load group is provided from the wind and PV based hybrid micro grid. The electrical information taken from the PV and wind turbine device with the voltage divider and current sensor is transferred to the microcontroller system. The load electrical energy requirement is primarily provided by the PV / Wind energy conversion, then by the battery and by the network in the last stage, all of the cases have been managed by the proposed control algorithm. Also, the excess energy generated by the PV/Wind hybrid system is transferred to the grid....

Efficiency of solar photovoltaic generation plants depends not only on internal operational condi... more Efficiency of solar photovoltaic generation plants depends not only on internal operational conditions but also on external atmospheric conditions. Total efficiency is influenced by various weather conditions such as cloudiness, temperature, and irradiation. In order to generate maximum energy, photovoltaic (PV) arrays should be operated at their maximum power point (MPP), varying external factors like partial shading and surface temperature and amount of radiation coming from the sun. In modern PV systems, maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) have been used in order to reach the MPP, changing with the factors given above. MPPT units are implemented to control DC-DC converters that are connected to terminals of PV arrays. MPPTs operate according to some algorithms to reach the maximum power level in various conditions. This study presents a new modification of the incremental conductance (IncCond) algorithm, one of the best-known algorithms, to improve total efficiency of solar energy conversion systems. The proposed modified algorithm is able to catch the new MPP quickly compared to the conventional type and oscillations are also decreased, reaching a new operating point.

According to global energy statistics, the amount of energy consumed increased from 8557 Million ... more According to global energy statistics, the amount of energy consumed increased from 8557 Million Tons of Equivalent oil (mtep) in 1990 to 13509 mtep in 2016. Research has shown that life span of 200 years of coal, 40 years of oil and 60 years of natural gas. Therefore, it is foreseen that fossil fuels will not be able to respond to the increase in energy needs and will fall behind energy consumption. because of this reason, it has been considered important to search for new energy sources to prevent future energy crises. Today, it can be said that this searching mostly focuses on renewable energy sources. Research suggests that renewable energy will constitute approximately 40% of total energy in the future. Although the importance of hydroelectric and wind energy from renewable energy sources has been understood much earlier, it is seen that the importance of solar energy has been realized in recent years. It is estimated that the highest increase in renewable energy sources between 2018 and 2050 in electricity generation will be in solar energy. Based on the years 2010 and 2018, while in 2010 was obtained 40,871 MW energy from the solar and 180,854 MW energy from the wind, but in 2018 was obtained 485,826 MW energy from the solar and 563,726 MW energy from the wind. According to these results, the energy obtained from the solar has increased approximately 12 times in the last nine years, while the energy obtained from the wind has increased approximately 4 times.

The increase in the use of renewable energy systems in recent years has led to an increase in the... more The increase in the use of renewable energy systems in recent years has led to an increase in the importance of work on micro-grids. In micro-grids, energy is consumed where it is produced. This leads to a reduction in transmission and power losses in the lines. At the same time, the negative effects of the industrial plants that disrupt the quality of power are eliminated by the micro-grid model and more efficient and reliable grids can be established. Technological developments that impact each field have also affected the electricity distribution grids. Problems such as inefficient energy transmission systems caused by high power losses, problems in the integration of renewable sources into the grid, inflexible demand, and wage problems make it difficult to meet the increasing demand with the traditional structure. In this study, a smart grid system was set up in the sample micro structure. The system consist from a photovoltaic system with a consumer and a grid system that feeds this consumer. There are a photovoltaic system and also a battery group in the applied micro grid. The power of the photovoltaic system in the micro-grid is continuously monitored by a microcontroller. The energy level information of PV panel system, the battery, and grid are supplied by voltage divider circuits to microcontroller. The information transmitted by the voltage dividers to the microcontroller is evaluated by the control algorithm. Considering account possible possibilities, the receiver is primarily fed by the photovoltaic system, in other cases fed from the grid or the battery system, thanks to the semiconductor switches used in the microcontroller control. In addition, excess energy generated by the microcontroller is transferred to the main grid. As a result of this application, the level of use of the renewable energy system has been increased and the energy cost has been reduced.

Electrical parameters such as current, voltage and resistance are produced by the light-sensitive... more Electrical parameters such as current, voltage and resistance are produced by the light-sensitive sensor elements depending on the light. Therefore, optically sensitive sensors are widely used in light measurement and light control systems. LDR (A Light Dependent Resistor) and Photodiode, which are widely used in light detection systems, have been discussed in the study, they have been exposed to different lighting values in an indoor environment. Their electrical reaction values have been measured and susceptibility analysis has been conducted. In the light of the findings obtained, it has been seen that with 9.44 standard deviation rate photodiode has shown more light sensitivity than LDR.

There is a lack of published peer-reviewed research comparing the efficiencies of distributed ver... more There is a lack of published peer-reviewed research comparing the efficiencies of distributed versus central sensor-controlled LED lighting systems. This research proposes improving the smart illumination of a room with external fenestration using central and distributed light sensors. The optical and electrical measurements of the daylight have been made in the case where the light was not distributed evenly and not sufficient. Test results show that the proposed distributed light sensor illumination system has increased the efficiency by 28% when compared to the proposed central system. It has also been shown that the two tested systems are more cost-effective than common smart illumination systems.

In wind energy conversion, the output power can change depending on the speed and intensity of the wind while in solar energy conversion it can change depending on the solar radiation and temperature. The energy conversion that combines these two energy types is called hybrid system. The energy produced by the wind and PV, hybrid power systems shows variance depending on the speed and intensity of wind and irradiation and temperature of PV panels in some cases the wind power and the PV power may not be at the expected level for the on grid micro inverter. This study aims to increase energy sustainability on grid based the hybrid power systems. The hybrid power system's output voltage is constantly measured with a voltage sensor. The input voltage range of the micro-inverter has been tried to be kept at a value that can give energy to the grid. In order to achieve this, the energy continuity is increased by providing battery support at voltages close to the minimum power value that will enable micro-inverter conduction.

Thus, these sensors are widely used in light measurement systems, light control systems, and opto-couplers. In this study underhand, the electrical values produced by the application of increasing light on the photodiodes and phototransistors are analysed. According to values obtained, the 9.44 standard deviation shows that photodiode has a better performance than phototransistor in terms of light sensitivity.

Yapısında bobin bulunan elektrik devrelerinde, manyetik etkileşim söz konusu olmaktadır ve bu kav... more Yapısında bobin bulunan elektrik devrelerinde, manyetik etkileşim söz konusu olmaktadır ve bu kavram transformatörlerde, enerji iletim hatlarında ve elektrik motorlarında önemli bir parametre olarak sayılmaktadır. Aynı nüve üzerinde yan yana olan bobinlerden bir tanesine doğru akım uyguladığımızda bobin etrafında sabit bir manyetik alan ve öz-indüksiyon gerilimi diğer bobinde ise indüksiyon gerilimi oluşmaktadır. Aynı demir nüve üzerinde yan yana bulunan bobinlerin birisinden alternatif akım geçirdiğimizde ise bobin etrafında değişken bir manyetik alan oluşmakta ve bu değişken manyetik alan kendi sargısını ve diğer sargıyı kesmesi sonucu ortak endüktans meydana gelmektedir. Yapılan çalışmada silisli sac paketinden oluşan nüve üzerine iki adet aynı kesit ve sarım sayısına sahip bobin seri bağlanarak önce doğru akım sonra alternatif akım uygulanmıştır. Bobinlerin üzerine düşen gerilim değerine, bobinlerin bağlantı şekline (alan yönüne), bobinler arasındaki mesafeye, bobinlerin nüveliyadanüvesiz olması durumlarına göre indüktans, ortak endüktans, kuplaj katsayısı, akım değişimleri çıkartılan tablo ve grafikleri hakkında yorum yapılmıştır.

While it is environment-friendly, silent and non-fuelled, its high investment costs and low efficiency in terms of energy conversion bring about various disadvantages. Therefore, studies on the improvement of systems operated via photovoltaic energy gained importance and the researches and developments within the field of current power conversion systems enabled the photovoltaic systems to gain momentum. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) must be used to obtain maximum performance from the solar energy system. In this study, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm-the most commonly used algorithm in MPPT systems-was analyzed, an approach towards eliminating oscillation problems, improving speed to obtain more power value, were maintained and reference current value was obtained from P&O algorithm under changing and constant PV panel radiation conditions. Finally, the proposed P&O algorithm was simulated and the results are discussed.

Although the importance of hydroelectric and wind energy from renewable energy sources has been understood much earlier, it is seen that the importance of solar energy has been realized in recent years. It is estimated that the highest increase in renewable energy sources between 2018 and 2050 in electricity generation will be in solar energy. Based on the years 2010 and 2018, while in 2010 was obtained 40,871 MW energy from the solar and 180,854 MW energy from the wind, but in 2018 was obtained 485,826 MW energy from the solar and 563,726 MW energy from the wind. According to these results, the energy obtained from the solar has increased approximately 12 times in the last nine years, while the energy obtained from the wind has increased approximately 4 times.

In micro-grids, energy is consumed where it is produced. This leads to a reduction in transmission and power losses in the lines. At the same time, the negative effects of the industrial plants that disrupt the quality of power are eliminated by the micro-grid model and more efficient and reliable grids can be established. Technological developments that impact each field have also affected the electricity distribution grids. Problems such as inefficient energy transmission systems caused by high power losses, problems in the integration of renewable sources into the grid, inflexible demand, and wage problems make it difficult to meet the increasing demand with the traditional structure. In this study, a smart grid system was set up in the sample micro structure. The system consist from a photovoltaic system with a consumer and a grid system that feeds this consumer. There are a photovoltaic system and also a battery group in the applied micro grid. The power of the photovoltaic system in the micro-grid is continuously monitored by a microcontroller. The energy level information of PV panel system, the battery, and grid are supplied by voltage divider circuits to microcontroller. The information transmitted by the voltage dividers to the microcontroller is evaluated by the control algorithm. Considering account possible possibilities, the receiver is primarily fed by the photovoltaic system, in other cases fed from the grid or the battery system, thanks to the semiconductor switches used in the microcontroller control. In addition, excess energy generated by the microcontroller is transferred to the main grid. As a result of this application, the level of use of the renewable energy system has been increased and the energy cost has been reduced.

Therefore, optically sensitive sensors are widely used in light measurement and light control systems. LDR (A Light Dependent Resistor) and Photodiode, which are widely used in light detection systems, have been discussed in the study, they have been exposed to different lighting values in an indoor environment. Their electrical reaction values have been measured and susceptibility analysis has been conducted. This research proposes improving the smart illumination of a room with external fenestration using central and distributed light sensors. The optical and electrical measurements of the daylight have been made in the case where the light was not distributed evenly and not sufficient. Test results show that the proposed distributed light sensor illumination system has increased the efficiency by 28% when compared to the proposed central system. It has also been shown that the two tested systems are more cost-effective than common smart illumination systems.

In wind energy conversion, the output power can change depending on the speed and intensity of the wind while in solar energy conversion it can change depending on the solar radiation and temperature. The energy conversion that combines these two energy types is called hybrid system. The energy produced by the wind and PV, hybrid power systems shows variance depending on the speed and intensity of wind and irradiation and temperature of PV panels in some cases the wind power and the PV power may not be at the expected level for the on grid micro inverter. This study aims to increase energy sustainability on grid based the hybrid power systems. The hybrid power system's output voltage is constantly measured with a voltage sensor. The input voltage range of the micro-inverter has been tried to be kept at a value that can give energy to the grid. In order to achieve this, the energy continuity is increased by providing battery support at voltages close to the minimum power value that will enable micro-inverter conduction.

Thus, these sensors are widely used in light measurement systems, light control systems, and opto-couplers. In this study underhand, the electrical values produced by the application of increasing light on the photodiodes and phototransistors are analysed. According to values obtained, the 9.44 standard deviation shows that photodiode has a better performance than phototransistor in terms of light sensitivity.

Aynı nüve üzerinde yan yana olan bobinlerden bir tanesine doğru akım uyguladığımızda bobin etrafında sabit bir manyetik alan ve öz-indüksiyon gerilimi diğer bobinde ise indüksiyon gerilimi oluşmaktadır. Aynı demir nüve üzerinde yan yana bulunan bobinlerin birisinden alternatif akım geçirdiğimizde ise bobin etrafında değişken bir manyetik alan oluşmakta ve bu değişken manyetik alan kendi sargısını ve diğer sargıyı kesmesi sonucu ortak endüktans meydana gelmektedir. Yapılan çalışmada silisli sac paketinden oluşan nüve üzerine iki adet aynı kesit ve sarım sayısına sahip bobin seri bağlanarak önce doğru akım sonra alternatif akım uygulanmıştır. Bobinlerin üzerine düşen gerilim değerine, bobinlerin bağlantı şekline (alan yönüne), bobinler arasındaki mesafeye, bobinlerin nüveliyadanüvesiz olması durumlarına göre indüktans, ortak endüktans, kuplaj katsayısı, akım değişimleri çıkartılan tablo ve grafikleri hakkında yorum yapılmıştır.

While it is environment-friendly, silent and non-fuelled, its high investment costs and low efficiency in terms of energy conversion bring about various disadvantages. Therefore, studies on the improvement of systems operated via photovoltaic energy gained importance and the researches and developments within the field of current power conversion systems enabled the photovoltaic systems to gain momentum. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) must be used to obtain maximum performance from the solar energy system. In this study, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm-the most commonly used algorithm in MPPT systems-was analyzed, an approach towards eliminating oscillation problems, improving speed to obtain more power value, were maintained and reference current value was obtained from P&O algorithm under changing and constant PV panel radiation conditions. Finally, the proposed P&O algorithm was simulated and the results are discussed.
