This study aimed to explore vocational school computer programming students’ motivations to learn... more This study aimed to explore vocational school computer programming students’ motivations to learn programming. The study used a survey research design and surveyed 165 first-year and second-year students studying computer programming. The data were collected using the “Learning Motivation in Computer Programming Courses Scale” consisting of nineteen items. The data were analysed using the frequency, mean, and standard deviation values. The independent-samples t-test was used to determine the difference between groups. The analysis results showed that computer programming students had a good level of learning motivation in computer programming courses.

Therefore, identifying the level of environmental awareness among prospective teachers during their education process is important for training teachers with a greater sense of environmental awareness. For this reason, a descriptive survey study was conducted to measure the level of awareness of prospective teachers pertaining to environmental issues. The participants of the study consisted of 470 prospective teachers in the junior and senior classes of the faculty of education at a state university (256 juniors and 214 seniors) in Turkey. Ayrıca Çukurova Üniversitesi'nde verilmekte olan dersleri web üzerinde sunmak ve ülkemizdeki uzaktan eğitim konusundaki çalışmalara katkıda bulunmak üzere çalışılmıştır.

Fakat, bu kurumlarda kaldiklari sure boyunca, bu ogrenciler bazi problemlerle bas etmek zorunda kalirlar. Bu makalenin amaci, iki farkli ulkedeki (Turkiye ve Belcika) UOlerin karsilastiklari problemleri belirlemek ve benzerlikler ve farkliliklar acisindan degerlendirmektir. Turkiye (23) ve Belcika’daki (58) UOler, misafir olduklari kurumda karsilastiklari problemleri belirlemeye yonelik 18 maddeden olusan bir anket (guvenirlik = .94) doldurmuslardir. This study set out to identify the learning styles of associate degree students who receive vocat... more This study set out to identify the learning styles of associate degree students who receive vocational education in order to contribute to the design of learning environments and activities. The study used a survey research design. The sample consisted of 651 associate degree students. The Grasha-Reichmann Student Learning Style Scale (GRSLSS) was used in this study as data collection instrument. The scale is a 5-point Likert type scale and consists of 60 items. The GRSLSS has six subscales (Independent, Dependent, Participant, Avoidant, Cooperative, and Competitive), each of which has 10 items. In this study, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was found to be 0.83 for the total scale. In the process of analyzing the data, mean scores on the GRSLSS were calculated to identify students’ preferred learning styles and the results were analyzed according to the range of mean scores (low, moderate, and high) for each learning style. This study aims to compare the social presence and motivation of students taking a database II co... more This study aims to compare the social presence and motivation of students taking a database II course using either the virtual world Second Life (SL) or the Enocta learning management system (LMS)/Adobe Connect. The study group consisted of 60 undergraduate sophomore students enrolled in a fully online computer programming program. Students were divided into two groups of 30. The first group was the experimental group taking the course on Second Life and the latter was control group taking the course through the Enocta LMS/Adobe Connect. A matching-only pre- and post-test control group design was applied. The data were collected through the Perceived Sociability Scale of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning Environments (Sociability Scale) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The results of the study showed significant differences in motivation and social presence scores in favour of the students taking the course through Second Life.

Accordingly, this study aims to identify academic success of participants and analyze their views related to their first aid knowledge levels before and after the application of first aid training. Also, participants' views about training have been taken after first aid training. Within this context, research problem is: "What is the effect of first aid training on participants? Mixed design research model has been used in this research. Study group of this research include 120 participants from different sectors and institutions who attend first aid training. Within the scope of this study, academic success test, participants' views about their first aid knowledge levels survey and participants' views about training survey have been applied. Within the context of this study, it is concluded that first aid training-which is planned on basis of adult education principles-increases academic success related to first aid topics and that participants' views about their first aid knowledge change in a positive way after first aid training program.

The microteaching method offers opportunities to pre-service teachers for both planning and apply... more The microteaching method offers opportunities to pre-service teachers for both planning and applying teaching methods-techniques. This method generally focuses on teacher behaviors. In teacher training programs, pre-service teachers learn the theoretical underpinnings of pedagogical strategies, and then they practice these strategies, ensuring them have internalized these skills. Education Faculty needs to be able to review research demonstrating the efficacy of microteaching to feel confident about utilizing this practice in their programs. The aim of this research is to identify pre-service teachers' views related to microteaching practice. This research is a descriptive survey study. The participants include pre-service teachers who study in Computer and Instructional Technology Department in Education Faculty. The Interview Form, the Peer Review Form and Self Evaluation Form were used to collect data in the study. Content analysis method was used for analysis of the data. Within the scope of the research, most of the pre-service teachers reported positive views about micro-teaching. In addition, pre-service teachers' views on peer and self-evaluation were also identified.
