It improves glycemia, prevents oxidative stress, and normalizes level of organic peroxides. Selenium is an essential dietary trace element that has an antioxidant effect. It functions as an integral part of glutathione peroxidase in addition to its important role in vitamin E metabolism and normal pancreatic functions. Aim of Work: To determine the roles of ozone administration in amelioration of oxidative stress in STZ-induced diabetes so as to establish its potential use in the strategy for treatment of diabetes. The present study utilized the quasi-experimental research design. The researcher divided the participants into two groups. The innovative group used strategic reading techniques, while the control group did not receive any training except for the regular method. The main question raised in this study was to what extent were the strategic reading techniques effective in improving reading skills for Jazan University students? To this end, the researcher collected data through a questionnaire and a strategic reading test. Furthermore, a model of teaching program, based on using strategic reading techniques, is improved and tested with a group of learners in the chosen university in Saudi Arabia. CdTe thin films of 50 nm thickness have been deposited on glass substrates by thermal vacuum evap... more CdTe thin films of 50 nm thickness have been deposited on glass substrates by thermal vacuum evaporation technique and the γ-irradiation effect on their optical properties has been investigated. Transmittance and reflectance have been measured at normal incidence, in the visible region from 400 to 700 nm, and were used to evaluate the optical parameters and the band gap energy for CdTe thin films before and after γ-irradiation. Structure and surface morphology before and after γirradiation were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. XRD pattern of the as-deposited CdTe film shows an amorphous nature. Crystalline structure was observed to improve when samples were exposed to γ-irradiation at doses from 40-120 kGy in the (111) plane of the cubic zincblende structure. SEM shows a change in the surface morphology of CdTe films as a consequence of γ-irradiation compared to as-deposited sample. The optical properties such as refractive index, extinction coefficient, dielectric constant were found to decrease with the increase of the dose of γ-irradiation. Energy band gap was found to decrease from 2.47 eV for the as-deposited down to 2.20 eV for 120 kGy (blue shift compared to bulk CdTe), that was attributed to the small thin film thickness.

The design of this study is a pre-post, experimental-control group. The experimental group students were taught using critical thinking techniques, while the control group did not receive any training except the regular method. The main question raised in this study was what is the effect of critical thinking techniques in improving EFL reading skills? To this end, the researcher collected data through a reading test and a rubric for correcting it, prepared by the researcher, and judged by the jury members. The reading test was applied to the study sample before and after the implementation. The results of the study revealed that EFL reading selected skills "inference, evaluation, and recognizing vocab." improved among experimental group students because of using critical thinking techniques "debate, problem-solving, self, and pair assessment". This reveals the effectiveness of critical thinking techniques in developing EFL reading skills among Jazan University students. The researcher recommends using new techniques to develop EFL reading skills.
