Efforts to strengthen the Arabic language subject can further strengthen the flow of the Dini Int... more Efforts to strengthen the Arabic language subject can further strengthen the flow of the Dini Integrated Curriculum (KBD) in Malaysia. The mastery of this subject can be measured based on the readability of students' text. This study aims to identify the readability of the KBD Form Four Arabic textbook (al-Lughah al-Arabiah al-Muasirah) in Government Aided Religious Schools (SABKs) based on linguistic characteristics. A quantitative survey design was implemented on 694 students in five SABK zones using the proportional strata random sampling technique. The technique has passed the instrument validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed by text, descriptive, and inferential analyses including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Kuder Richardson 20 test, and Pearson's correlation test. The findings of the study of linguistic features show that word form dominates a high level of uniformity in the text for word category and Balagha for sentence category, while the content category is in the moderate level. The readability of the textbook is at a disappointing level. There is a strong significant relationship between verb sentences and long verb sentences with the readability of the KBD Form Four Arabic textbook. The results of the study can also be utilized by authorities to ensure the materials in Arabic textbooks can attract students to continue reading and learning more actively.

However, because few exploratory studies exist on the characteristics of quality teachers in the field of language education, this study aims to identify relevant past studies from various virtual sources through a hybrid literature review method, and to provide a comprehensive review in this field. The study sets out a research question and follows five systematic processes based on it. The results show a long list of language teacher characteristics that include (1) relationships, (2) knowledge and credibility, and (3) delivery. The analysis proves that the language of this list is still raw because it includes the universal characteristics of the teacher and a small number of characteristics that are influenced by external factors. Teacher is an important factor swaying students' achievement. The success of an educational entit... more Teacher is an important factor swaying students' achievement. The success of an educational entity reflects the quality of the teachers engaged. Teacher factor is identified as one of the main obstacles to the Arabic education. Assessment process of the teachers' quality would help those concerned identify the weakness before preventive and remedial actions being taken. This study intends to identify the features of quality for Arabic teachers agreed by students and teachers as the first step in a continuous assessment of the teachers' quality. The respondents of the qualitative approach are 9 excellent Arabic teachers and 90 students from SMKA throughout Malaysia. The qualitative data are analyzed through descriptive and comparative methods using the Atlas.ti. installer. The finding of this study regarding the experiences of excellent Arabic teachers shows that there are 17 GBA quality characteristics that are seen in 4 categories, i.e. 1) Personality, 2) Assessment and Feedback, 3) Class and Student Management, and 4) Teaching and Learning (T&L). The outcome also uncovers types of similarity and difference in determining the teachers' quality based on teacher and student perspective. The teachers are found as leaning to more comprehensive assessment compared to the students who prioritize the quality of a good teacher-student relationship.

Metodologi-Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan protokol berfikir lantang, pemerhatian dan temu bual sebagai instrumen pungutan data. Kerangka konseptual kajian ini dibina berasaskan teori strategi pembelajaran bahasa (SPB) dan strategi pembelajaran kosa kata (SPKK). Seramai 17 pelajar tingkatan enam dari dua buah sekolah dipilih sebagai peserta kajian ini. Mereka diberi tugasan mempelajari 13 kosa kata berimbuhan bahasa Arab. Data protokol berfikir lantang dan temu bual dianalisis untuk mencari tema dan diberi kod. Dapatan-Dapatan kajian menunjukkan peserta kajian menggunakan pelbagai pola strategi pembelajaran kosa kata ketika belajar kosa kata baharu berimbuhan bahasa Arab. Namun tahap penggunaan strategi dalam kalangan peserta adalah rendah.

However, studies related to the readability of Arabic texts have been found to be limited and there are still weaknesses of students in using language learning strategies.
