The purpose of this study was to determine of oxygen diffusion rate during the blind feeding period of intensive shrimp culture of vaname (L. vannamei). This research was conducted for 30 days blind feeding period of intensive vaname shrimp culture, the research using concept of expose facto causal design. Furthermore, the oxygen diffusion rate is calculated mathematically and a regression test is carried out on the associated water quality parameters. During the blind feeding period, the oxygen diffusion rate fluctuates and dynamically, with a diffusion rate ranging from 0.015-0.028 mgO2/L/hour. This condition is followed by a stabilizing and optimum condition of pond water quality parameter values throughout in the aquaculture. Diurnal periodically, the oxygen diffusion mechanism has an influence on the level of oxygen solubility in ponds. This relationship is modeled by the equation Y = 0.006 + 0.002x. This means that for each diffusion transfer increase of 1 mgO2/L/hour, there will be an oxygen increase in the ponds of 0.002 mg/L. The conclusion of this study is that the oxygen diffusion rate during the blind feeding period of intensive vaname shrimp culture obtained an average at 0.020 mgO2/L/hour, ranging from 0.018-0.023 mgO2/L/hour for 30 days of culture. From the results of this study, it is hoped that research can be developed study regarding of mechanisms, dynamics, and the effect of oxygen diffusion on the intensive shrimp farming ecology.

The highest content of lipid, carbohydrate and protein of C. pyrenoidosa was in the treatment of 20% tofu wastewater, reaching 1.56%; 28.92%; and 28.92%, respectively. Meanwhile, the highest growth rate and the smallest doubling time in the treatment of 20% tofu wastewater accounted for 0.8264 day-1 and 0.0349 hours-1. Moreover, the rates of BOD and TSS of the tofu wastewater at the end of the study decreased. It can be concluded that administering different concentrations of the tofu wastewater can affect the lipid, carbohydrate and protein content of C. pyrenoidosa. It was suggested that further research is needed to conduct semi-continuous cultivation of C. pyrenoidosa using a higher density so that the results obtained can be optimized.

The success of Nile tilapia culture production depends on the fish growth during cultivation as well as pond environment. Many studies have revealed that quality of water strongly affects fish growth in an aquaculture pond. This study aims to investigate the relationship among water quality like Physico-chemical (temperature, transparency, pH, dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrate, and phosphate) and biological (phytoplankton abundance) factors and the specific growth rate of Nile tilapia in a freshwater cultivation pond in Batu City, Indonesia. The data was analyzed using the path model. Results indicated that the most significant factor for fish growth was the phytoplankton abundance. However, since nitrate and phosphate also played roles as determinants of phytoplankton abundance, they can be considered indirect water quality factors of Nile tilapia growth.

It requires excellent water quality to ensure its growth rate and production. Therefore, intensive culture system is considered. However, the system threatens the sustainability of the adjacent environment and thus proper water treatment is necessary to increase the quality of water used in shrimp farming as well as the wastewater it produces. In this study, we explored the use of a silvofishery system that integrates mangroves into a pond as a potential solution to this issue. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the silvofishery system at treating water inputs and effluents of a whiteleg shrimp pond in Probolinggo District, East Java, Indonesia. Eight physicochemical water quality parameters and a phytoplankton community at four sampling sites during neap tide period were examined in this study. The effectiveness of the silvofishery system in increasing water quality was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), while t he diversity of phytoplankton for biomonitoring was measured with the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H'). The results showed that the mangrove effectively increased the quality of the water supply and wastewater in the intensive whiteleg shrimp pond-especially in terms of nutrient removal-as well as the biodiversity of its phytoplankton community. Other parameters such as TOM and ammonia also decreased, though this was not statistically proven.

Pond stability of milkfish especially in fingerling phase (young phase) influenced by several factors including water quality and organism availability (periphyton). This recent study aimed to assess the milkfish traditional pond stability in fingerling phase based on water quality and periphyton availability aspects. These aspects are quite important to milkfish production and their growth as well as their food habit. The research was conducted in traditional pond located in UPT Fisheries Brackish and Saline Water Probolinggo for three months. Water quality and periphyton analyses were in situ and ex situ. The result shows that all the water quality is belong to good condition (stable) except in ammonia, TOM, and orthophosphate. However, this fluctuated value is not significantly impacting to the living organisms (milkfish). The research concluded that the fingerling milkfish...
