The purpose was to discuss national security in Nigeria in relation to peace education. The concepts of peace education and national security were presented. The reasons for national security were discussed. The researchers also articulated the efforts so far made in Nigeria to promote national security. The work also articulated the importance of peace education to national security. The major challenges to national security in Nigeria were highlighted and strategies for enhancing peace education for national security were documented. Part of the suggestions was that elders at family and society levels should show good examples and inculcate in the children, the culture of tolerance and coexistence in the plural society, as well as teaching them patriotism and civic responsibilities to the nation over and above allegiance to tribe or ethnicity as a way of achieving national security in Nigeria.

Two research questions guided the study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised 97 and 71 public and private primary schools in the Area respectively. A sample of 48 primary schools consisting 27 public and 21 private was used. The proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used for sampling. A checklist was used to obtain data for question 1 while a researcher developed questionnaire adapted from Implementation Guidelines on National School Health Programme 2006 of the Federal Ministry of Education was used to gather data for research question two. This study ascertained preventive measures for controlling fund wastages and misappropriations in... more This study ascertained preventive measures for controlling fund wastages and misappropriations in schools. One research question and one null hypothesis guided the study. The study was conducted in South East States of Nigeria using descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised 1241 public school principals while the sample comprised 870 principals. A questionnaire developed by the researchers duly validated by experts was used for data collection. The reliability coefficient of 0.75 was obtained using Cronbach alpha. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviations and t-test. Findings indicated that school principals do not use preventive measures for controlling fund wastages and misappropriations. It was recommended that principals should use the preventive measures for controlling fund wastages and misappropriations.

This study ascertained extent of teachers' classroom management practices for quality teaching an... more This study ascertained extent of teachers' classroom management practices for quality teaching and learning in public and private secondary schools in Ebonyi State of Nigeria. The research design adopted is descriptive survey. The population for this study comprised 3275 secondary school teachers while the sample for this study comprised 1641 respondents. A researcher-developed instrument duly validated by experts was used for data collection. The overall scale reliability coefficient for the instrument was 0.82. The researchers collected data with the help of six research assistants. Mean and t-test were used in data analysis. Findings indicated that teachers in private schools used instructional monitoring for quality teaching and learning in the classroom to a low extent. Accordingly, it was among others recommended monitoring team should be set up in all the schools in Ebonyi State.

The university education in Nigeria is faced with a lot of challenges. The result is that most employers of labour complain about the poor quality of the products. This paper therefore examines the roles and state of university education in Nigeria. It also presents the steps in strategic planning process and how to revive the university system through strategic thinking and planning. The measures to be taken in order to sustain the gains of strategic thinking and planning in Nigeria universities are also presented and recommendations were also made.
Social support within the workplace is very important for better job performance. Undoubtedly, so... more Social support within the workplace is very important for better job performance. Undoubtedly, social support offers a means through which employees can better cope with the negative effects of high job demands. It can comprise both support received from managers or supervisor and that received from co-workers. In the same manner, unions can provide a form of social support. The engine that propels this social support in the workplace is staff relations.

The main purpose of this study was to determine whether any significant relationship exists between principals' instruction supervision practices and teachers' job performance in secondary schools in Anambra State. One research question and one null hypothesis guided the study. It adopted the co-relational research design. The population of the study was made up of 6,342 public secondary school teachers in six education zones of the state. The sample for the study was 634 public secondary school teachers in Anambra state. Researchers-developed instrument titled: 'Questionnaire on principals instructional supervision practices and teachers job performance Questionnaire' (QPISPTJP) was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. The reliability of the instrument was established through a trial-test in public secondary schools in Enugu State. The reliability index of the instrument using cronbach alpha method was 0.92 and was deemed high for the study. The researchers administered the instrument directly on the respondents with the help of five research assistants and the Pearson's Product Moment correlation coefficient was used in the data analysis. Findings indicated that a moderate positive relationship exists between principals instructional supervision practices and teachers job performance. Among others, it was recommended that principals should use instructional supervision as an opportunity to equip their teachers with professional skills and knowledge.
