Background: To evaluate and compare the ultrasound (US) features of transient small bowel intussu... more Background: To evaluate and compare the ultrasound (US) features of transient small bowel intussusception (SBI) with those which required surgical management. Materials and Methods: US features of 26 children with 32 intussusceptions from January 2014 to August 2014 were recorded and compared with follow-up imaging or surgical findings. Results: Transient SBI when compared to surgically managed intussusception has shorter length of intussusception (mean 2.25 cm, range 1.8-4.5 cm vs. mean 5.6 cm, range, 2.3-7.8 cm), smaller transverse diameter (mean, 1.2 cm, range 0.8-2.3 cm vs. mean, 3.3 cm, range 2.9-5.4 cm) and thin wall (mean, 3.3 mm, 2.3-4.9 mm vs. mean, 6.8 mm, range, 4.3-11.2 mm). Four out of five surgically managed intussusceptions were associated with the lead point while none of the transient SBI had any lead point. Peristalsis was absent in all surgically managed intussusceptions. Conclusion: Transient SBI is associated with a shorter length of intussusception, smaller transverse diameter, thin walls, absence of the lead point and visible peristalsis. All these findings may help in distinguishing it from those requiring surgical management.

Pregnancy in a rudimentary uterine horn is a rare event with an estimated incidence of 1 in 76,00... more Pregnancy in a rudimentary uterine horn is a rare event with an estimated incidence of 1 in 76,000 to 1 in 1,40,000 pregnancies. Unicornuate uterus with a rudimentary horn has a high incidence of obstetric and gynecological complications. Ruptured ectopic pregnancy in the rudimentary horn is one of the most dreaded complications, which can have grave consequences for both mother and fetus. In the majority of the cases, it is detected after rupture of the horn, usually during the first or second trimester of pregnancy. An ultrasonographic diagnosis made prior to rupture of the rudimentary horn may prevent this catastrophic outcome. We report a case of a G2 P1 L1 with a ruptured left rudimentary horn pregnancy at 16 weeks of gestation that was misdiagnosed as a pregnancy in the left uterine horn of a bicornuate uterus on prior prenatal ultrasound. The patient presented to our hospital with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. A diagnosis of ruptured left rudimentary horn pregnancy was made on the basis of emergency ultrasound and was later confirmed on laparotomy. The left rudimentary horn along with the ipsilateral fallopian tube was excised.

This exposition presents the analysis of the successful attempt to apply sensor and control techniques on 3D human computer interfacing for changing 2D visual to 3D visual. The 3D input device virtual reality data glove is used to provide interactivity for handling and manipulating various 3D icons and 3D graphical objects on the computer screen. IT successfully handles the issue related to six degrees of tracking since manipulating 3D objects requires the handling of Six degrees of freedom (DOFs), i.e. three independent axes of movement and three axes of rotation for every object. In the situation of a 2D, the surface limitation does not allow large no of windows and icons to be positioned on the screen whereas in 3D ,the number of windows and icons can be situated top, down, left, right, and even in back surface since the windows are pushed back their appearance is smaller due to ...
