According to the World Reference Base for Soil Resources, the objects of the study were defined as Folic Cambisols, Rubic Arenosols and Reductigleyic Gleysols (Gelic). The leading primary pedogenic processes have been identified. The estimation of intensity of weathering and mineral mass metamorphization processes of the middle part of soil profile in relation to soil-forming rock was carried out. The most intensive processes of weathering and metamorphization are manifested in the middle horizons of soils of Folic Cambisols group, where they are represented by disintegration, brunification and soil-structuring of mineral mass, which is indicated by both relative increase of physical clay content and oxalate-soluble compounds of iron and aluminum hydroxides. The leading primary pedogenic process in soils of Rubic Arenosols group is rubification. These soils are chara...

However, the wide distribution in the territory of the Amur-Zeya Plain of forest soils of light granulometric composition that were formed on loose sedimentary deposits makes it possible to identify an area of Arenosols and Podzols, for the first time described within the study area. The common features in the researched soils are a well-structured thin humus horizon and quartzfeldsparic mineralogical composition causing low intensity of the processes of weathering and metamorphism of mineral substance. The initial stages of biochemical weathering of mineral matter are diagnosed in soils of the Humic Arenosol subgroup. The most intensive processes of weathering and metamorphism of mineral matter are diagnosed in the middle horizons of the Rubic Arenosol group, which is associated with the formation of seasonal frost and the associated cycles of freezing-thawing of the soil p...

Detailed crystal chemical characterization of human pathological cardiovascular deposits (PCD) wa... more Detailed crystal chemical characterization of human pathological cardiovascular deposits (PCD) was conducted applying wide set of the instrumental methods (XRD, FTIR, Raman, SEM, different chemical analyses). There was some progress achieved in the understanding of it formation mechanism. The obtained data evidence that pathological cardiovascular deposits are presented by non-stoichiometric water-bearing B-type carbonated hydroxyapatite just like other apatites of the human body. But PCD apatite is characterized by higher concentration of B-type carbonate ion (up to ~ 6 wt%) which leads to the increasing influence of the carbonate-ion on the unit cell parameters in comparison with water and other substitutes. Another difference between PCD apatite and other pathogenic apatites of the human body is the smaller variations of the unit cell parameters, caused by smaller variations of the blood chemical composition. It was shown that apatite on the surface of PCD is characterized by the more non-stoichiometric composition compared to apatite inside these deposits. It is assumed that the formation mechanisms of the PCD apatite and the bone apatite may be similar.
