The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise on anxiety and depression of ... more The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise on anxiety and depression of college students. A subject this study 90 untrained male and female college students were randomly selected from Rajarshi Shahu College Pathri, Dist. Aurangabad (Maharashtra), India for the present study. The subjects were randomly assigned in equal two groups (control group (N=45) and intervention group (N=45). Intervention group (30 male and 15 female students) participated in a 12 week physical fitness programme with a frequency of 3 session per week and 60 minutes per session but control group did not participated in any physical activity. The average age of students in the intervention and control groups was 20.47 and 21.19 years respectively. Data were collected from students using a Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) for depression, it consists of twenty items and Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) was used for test to anxiety. The t-test was used to test the effect of anxiety and depression level between intervention and control group. The significance level was determined as p<0.05. The result of the study reveals that there was significant difference in 0.05 levels effect of exercise on anxiety and depression among the college students.

The purpose of the study was to compare the aerobic/cardiorespiratory fitness level among the stu... more The purpose of the study was to compare the aerobic/cardiorespiratory fitness level among the students of different socio economic status. By using simple random sampling technique researcher had selected total 12 colleges with 2 colleges from each district from the Lucknow region. Again 3600 male students aged between 18-22 years were randomly selected from these 12 colleges and they were divided into three income groups, that is high income group, middle income group and low income group by using SocioEconomic Status Scale Questionnaire developed by G. P. Srivastava (1978) and from three groups a total of 300 students, 100 students each from high income group, middle income group and low income group were selected for the purpose of this study using stratified random sampling technique. The aerobic/cardiovascular fitness level was measured by 1 mile run. To compare aerobic/cardiorespiratory fitness level among the students of different socioeconomic status one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used followed by L.S.D. (least significant difference) wherever applicable. All statistical function was performed by the use of SPSS v.16 software and the level of significance was set at 0.05. It was found that significant differences were found in aerobic/cardiorespiratory fitness level between high income group, middle income group and low income group also.

The purpose of this study was to compare the level of mental health status between male sports pe... more The purpose of this study was to compare the level of mental health status between male sports person and non sports person of Rajarshi Shahu College Pathri, Dist. Aurangabad (Maharashtra state) who studying in undergraduate and post graduate level course. For the purpose of this investigation 100 subjects (50 sports person and 50 non sports person) were randomly selected as subjects of the study. Their age were ranged from 18 to 25 years. The standardized Mental Health Inventory (M.H.I.) test prepared by Agashe and Helode (2007) was used to observe the difference of mental health status between sports person and non sportsman. It consists of 36 questions. To compare the mental health status of male sports person and non sports person, the independent t-test was used for data analysis.

In this study 60 untrained male college students were randomly divided in to two groups. 30 male students participated in a 6 week physical fitness programme with a frequency of 3 session per week and 60 minutes per session. The average age of students in the experimental and control groups were 19.74 and 20.36 years respectively. Data were collected from students using a Sports Competitive Anxiety Test (SCAT) consists of fifteen items which include 5 spurious items, 8 positive items and 2 negative items. A group of sample 120 players, 60 men players of each State Universities with age group of 18-28 years were selected from West Zone Inter University Kho-Kho Competition 2013-14 conducted by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad, Maharashtra State, India through random sampling technique. Data was collected from only Kho-Kho men players using a standardized mental depression test of Prof. L. N. Dubey (1993) for evaluate the rate of depression. SOFA Software was used for statistical analysis. Data were analyzed by independent T test. By analyzing the proposed hypotheses at the P≤0.01 demonstrated significant difference between men kho-kho players of both state universities.

For the present study 40 male college sports persons (n=40) of Rajarshi shahu College Pathri were randomly selected as a subject and their age ranged between 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were randomly assigned into two equal groups such as circuit training group (CTG) and control group (CG) with twenty subjects each (n=20). The experimental (circuit training) group underwent their respective experimental training for six weeks and a session on every day. Control group was not undergone any specific training apart from their regular activities. The data was collected before and after six weeks of training period.
