The major determinants of the technology acceptance model (TAM) and consumer value theory are used to explore their impact on buying attitudes toward behavior.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, a model has been conceptualized to examine the influence of hedonic and utilitarian motivational values along with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on actual buying behavior under pandemic conditions. A structured questionnaire has been prepared for an online survey, and data have been collected from 395 online shoppers. The structural equation modeling technique has been applied to analyze the data using SPSS and SmartPLS 3 software.FindingsThe results of this study support that perceived enjoyment and utilitarian attributes (price, convenience and health aspects) positively affect online buying attitudes along w...

E-learning not only enhances learning quality, but it has also become the only medium of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people have been forced to stay at home. Due to the pandemic, most countries have initiated online learning to continue the learning process, thus lessening the study gap. Against this backdrop, it is imperative to explore the perception and satisfaction level of e-learners regarding e-learning tools. In this study, a quantitative approach was conducted on the students of two leading public universities (graduates and postgraduates) to identify the impact of the determinants of the SERVQUAL model (reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and website design), as well as ‘learning content’, on overall perceived quality and satisfaction. In total, 895 respondents participated in the study, and data were analyzed wit...

In this paper, an intelligent agent system, which was initially designed and implemented for the specific application of supplier selection, is proposed to act for consumers in the matters of gathering information of expected suppliers and making an optimal choice from these suppliers. This agent system is composed of two subsystems, product gatherer and decision maker, to address the two key issues, finding out right products and making a right choice. First, Web Ontology Language (OWL) is utilized to define the ontology, which is used for processing the semantic content of gathered supplier’s information. Decision maker subsystem utilized the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which is a structured technique for dealing with complex decisions, to make an optimal decision to contr...

Travel websites provide customers with diverse services including travel information and products through the Internet. In practical environments, Internet users face a variety of travel website service quality (TWSQ) that is vague from human beings’ subjective judgments. In the face of the strong competitive environment, in order to profit by making customers proceed with transactions on the websites, travel websites should pay more attention to improve their service quality. This study discusses the major factors for travel agency websites’ quality from the viewpoint of users’ perception, and explores the use of Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS) for the evaluation of TWSQ. Fuzzy TOPSIS is a preferred solution method when the performance ratings are vague and imprecise. The proposed methodology is illustrated through a practical app...

Technological improvement and economic growth are continuously exploiting the earth's resources, resulting in an overwhelming burden on earth's ecology. Confirming a state of equilibrium between economic growth and safeguarding the environment becomes a challenge for business people and marketers. Though people worldwide are becoming interested in buying organic food, the concept of organic farming is relatively new in Bangladesh. The tea industry has started off with producing organic tea on a very limited scale. In this study, the researchers tried to examine the buying intention of organic tea among the consumers of Bangladesh. The study demonstrated that trust and perceived price significantly affect the buying intention of organic tea consumers along with product attributes, health consciousness, and environmental concern. Marketers may consider the stated factors to create an influence on the selection process of organic tea by consumers.

In practice, all inventories cannot be controlled with equal attention. In order to efficiently control the inventory items and to determine the suitable ordering policies for them, multiple criteria inventory classification is used. In this paper, a systematic and logical approach is structured for multiple criteria inventory classification through integrating Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) with Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP). Fuzzy Delphi method used to identify the most important and significant criteria and, Fuzzy AHP is used to determine the relative weights of the attributes or criteria, and to classify inventories into different categories. To accredit the proposed model, it is implemented for the 351 raw materials of switch gear section of Energypac Engineering Limited (EEL), a large power engineering company of Bangladesh. Implementation results show that the proposed method can be used in inventory classification.

This paper deals with a brief review of the literature regarding AHP technique and its relevancy to its application in vendor selection process. Vendor selection is a complicated process. This process needs evaluation of multiple criteria and various constraints associated with them. This paper has been developed based upon the views of various experts. A well researched methodology has been adopted for the synthesis of priorities and the measurement of consistencies. A consistency ratio has also been calculated. Industries has been classifies into small scale, medium scale and large scale. Various criteria for vendor selection process as received from the expert have been identified. These criteria have been compared using average matrix, priority matrix and overall priority matrix. After analysis of the results we found that for large scale industries, vendor reliability, product quality and vendor experience are the top three vendor selection problems that needs to be taken up on priority for effective vendor selection.

The multi-dimensional, multi-criteria nature of the concrete production facility location problem limits the usefulness of any particular single objective model. In this study, social, economical, technological, environmental, and transportation factors and sub criteria have been derived to make the optimal concrete production facility location selection decision more realistic and effectual. This study shows an improved and appropriate concrete production facility location evaluation and selection model has been developed by integrating Modified Delphi and Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) with Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. Evaluation of the proper and appropriate hazardous industrial waste transportation firm (HIWTF) i... more Evaluation of the proper and appropriate hazardous industrial waste transportation firm (HIWTF) is a vital problem for hazardous waste generators as hazardous and toxic industrial wastes may cause extensive damage to both humans and the environment when improperly handled. In general, many conflicting factors affect the appropriate HIWTF selection problem which adheres to uncertain and imprecise data. In this paper, a simple, systematic and logical scientific approach is structured to evaluate HIWTF through integrating fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) with the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations (PROMETHEE). The proposed decision-making approach takes advantage of the synergy between these two well-known multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods in which their strong and weak points are detected and a ranking is provided which facilitates the final selection for the decision maker. To accredit the proposed model, it is implemented in an automotive battery manufacturing company in Bangladesh.
