Rather than prescribing a set of generic implementation steps, suggests that there are other, more significant, factors to be considered related to the timing of the initiative rather than where it should begin. Discusses four necessary issues: the removal of abstraction from the concept of quality in higher education; organization‐wide understanding of the customer; the importance of assessing the current quality level; and the need for strategic quality planning. Also cites classical organizational facets such as structure, culture, human resource management and leadership as being among the determinants of TQM success – concentration on these key matters attenuates the importance of the method of implementation. Recent literature shows the existence of co-morbidity between the use of smartphone, internet addiction, and psychiatric disorders. A study was conducted on the usage pattern and dependence on mobile phones among the students of professional colleges. A cross-sectional study among 100 medical & 100 engineering students, was conducted at Anil Neerukonda Educational Society (ANES), Visakhapatnam, India. Data were collected using a pre-designed & pretested questionnaire from October to November 2018. SAS-SV Scale was used to assess the mobile phone dependence. Collation of data was done using inferential statistical methods. Majority of respondents were females (52.5%) and in the age group of 19 years. Medical group included 32% males & 68% females and engineering group included 63% males & 37% females. 75% of students in both the groups were using mobile phone for a duration of 1-6 hours a day. While 32% students had addiction scale of more than 31 another 33% students were in the addiction scale range of between 22 and 30. An increased dependence of mobile phone usage among medical & engineering students had a negative effect on physical and mental health resulting in poor academic performance.

While doing that, this research has initially analyzed the concept of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and has presented several different activities performed by the HRM department. After that, in the data analysis section, it was found that every activity performed by HRM department fulfills one or more factors or stages from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs such as esteem needs, love-belongingness needs, self-actualization needs, safety-security needs and physiological needs. By fulfilling these needs, HRM department triggers employee motivation and job satisfaction that in turn ensures employee retention. As a multilingual and multicultural Asian society that implements a unique bilingual policy of taking English (which is not native to the majority of the local population) as the dominant language, Singapore provides a good scenario for the exploration of such issues. As part of a two-year intervention project aiming at promoting schoolchildren's self-regulated English literacy learning ability, we conducted a preparatory study which was aimed at finding out students' English language learning profile and identifying gaps in their knowledge of literacy learning strategies. We administered a reading survey and a writing survey to 678 Primary 3 pupils from two typical primary schools in Singapore. Results show that our informants did attempt to use different literacy learning strategies, though the average frequency of strategy use was not very high. We also found that learners' gender, motivation, self-efficacy, and out-of-school effort are related to their use of learning strategies, whereas their home languages are not. The findings highlight the necessity of strategy instruction for this group of schoolchildren and the potential importance of gender and psychological factors in literacy strategy instruction programs.
