Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a computer hardware that carries out the computer program instructions. The CPU technology development is very fast with the impression of smaller dimensions yet maintain its performance and efficiency, this results in a heat flux or overheating that should be reduced and even removed from the CPU system to maintain the CPU performance and life because the overheating could potentially damage and slow down the computer work. To solve the CPU heat flux problem, we use heat pipes as the cooling system, because of its ability to transfer heat and contribute to the high outlet temperature in the condenser. The cascade heat pipe design is made by combining two heat pipes into one. So to solve those problems, heat pipe was chosen to be an alternative solution. Heat pipe was hoped to be a passive cooling system technology, but further research shows that goal can’t be achieved, due to the high condenser temperature, and the cooling system still needs fan support to banish the heat quickly from the device. So, this paper will discuss a research about new cascade system for heat pipe with variations of heat load and amount of condenser. The results were compared to non-cascade heat pipe to know its thermal performance, especially in thermal resistance. Vehicles that operate on the street usually driving with varying rpm so that the heat produced by the combustion process is not constant and then this study analyze the performance of radiators as a function of time (transient condition). Tests is done on the condition of operating the engine with five rpm variations, each for one hour with air conditioning load and without air-conditioning load. The data to be collected includ the inlet and outlet temperature of radiator and radiator fluid volume flow. Agar tidak terjadi hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan akibat suhu mesin melebihi suhu normal mesin saat bekerja, maka penelitian ini perlu dilakukan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian perbandingan laju pembuangan panas mesin antara pemakaian 100% air dengan campuran 80% air dan 20% radiator coolant dengan metode paired comparison pada rpm 2000. Pelat logam harganya mahal, sehingga penggunaaniiya tidak memungkinkan bagi masyarakat pedesaan yang mempunyai penghasilan rendah untuk mengeringkan hasil panennya seperti : padi, jagung, kacang dan Iain-lain. Temperatur udara untuk proses pengeringan umumnya tidak terlalu tinggi kira-kira 45Aƒâ€šA‚°C - 55Aƒâ€šA‚°C. Mengingat kebutuhan tersebut maka memungkinkan penggunaan batu krikil yang dicat hitam sebagai pengganti pelat logam. Computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) technology is being developed rapidly for better work perf... more Computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) technology is being developed rapidly for better work performance together with smaller size. This technology development produces significant heat flux increase on the processor. In this paper, a cascade straight heat pipe (CSHP) is created for a better CPU cooling system which is a fully passive system using nanofluids and hybrid nanofluid as the working fluid. Heat loads were given to the CSHP at 10 watts, 20 watts, 30 watts, and 40 watts, respectively. Based on the experiment's result, the CSHP with Al2O3-TiO2-water working fluid showed the best performance, decreasing 41.872% of the simulator plate temperature at maximum load while also having the highest condenser output temperature. The CSHP with Al2O3-water working fluid decreased 35.243% of the simulator plate temperature. The CSHP with water working fluid decreased only 28.648% of the simulator plate temperature and had the lowest condenser output temperature. The CSHP with Al2O3-TiO2-water showed the lowest thermal resistance and the highest coefficient of heat transfer.

Pelat logam harganya mahal, sehingga penggunaaniiya tidak memungkinkan bagi masyarakat pedesaan yang mempunyai penghasilan rendah untuk mengeringkan hasil panennya seperti : padi, jagung, kacang dan Iain-lain. Temperatur udara untuk proses pengeringan umumnya tidak terlalu tinggi kira-kira 45Aƒâ€šA‚°C - 55Aƒâ€šA‚°C. Mengingat kebutuhan tersebut maka memungkinkan penggunaan batu krikil yang dicat hitam sebagai pengganti pelat logam. Telah didesain dan dibuat sebuah prototipe alat pengering tenaga surya dengan menggunakan batu krikil sebagai kolektor. Dimensi kolektor adalah lebar 0,9 m dan panjang 1,4 m. Computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) technology is being developed rapidly for better work perf... more Computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) technology is being developed rapidly for better work performance together with smaller size. This technology development produces significant heat flux increase on the processor. In this paper, a cascade straight heat pipe (CSHP) is created for a better CPU cooling system which is a fully passive system using nanofluids and hybrid nanofluid as the working fluid. Heat loads were given to the CSHP at 10 watts, 20 watts, 30 watts, and 40 watts, respectively. Based on the experiment's result, the CSHP with Al2O3-TiO2-water working fluid showed the best performance, decreasing 41.872% of the simulator plate temperature at maximum load while also having the highest condenser output temperature. The CSHP with Al2O3-water working fluid decreased 35.243% of the simulator plate temperature. The CSHP with water working fluid decreased only 28.648% of the simulator plate temperature and had the lowest condenser output temperature. The CSHP with Al2O3-TiO2-water showed the lowest thermal resistance and the highest coefficient of heat transfer.
