Synthetic lipid A analogs which have two amide-bound and two ester-bound (R)-3-hydroxytetradecano... more Synthetic lipid A analogs which have two amide-bound and two ester-bound (R)-3-hydroxytetradecanoyl groups at the C-2 and -2' and C-3 and -3' positions of beta(1-6)glucosamine disaccharide mono- or diphosphates showed high activities in most in vitro assays, and the lethality of a diphosphate derivative to galactosamine-treated mice was almost comparable to that of natural lipid A. The pyrogenicity and Shwartzman induction activity of the synthetic analogs, however, were much less than those of natural lipid A.

The bulletin contains analyses of various aspects of the Russian enterprises' performance such as output dynamics, investment policy, ownership structure, attitude to economic policy, etc and a vast selection of statistical series consisted of more than 70 monthly and quarterly indicators. All data published in REB are based on the results of surveys of industrial and agricultural companies, which have been conducted by the Center for more than 20 years. The aim of the bulletin is to provide a wide range of professionals with unique statistical information so that they could study various aspects of the Russian manufacturing sector's performance in detail.
ABSTRACT Global land temperature and ocean temperature can be modeled as stochastic processes wit... more ABSTRACT Global land temperature and ocean temperature can be modeled as stochastic processes with a memory, given by the Hurst exponent. The temperature data also have trends, which may yield spuriously high Hurst exponents if not taken into consideration. In this study the global land temperature and the global ocean temperature increments are modeled as a fractional Gaussian noise with a polynomial trend. The Maximum Likelihood method is applied to estimate the noise parameters H and σ, and the polynomial coefficients of the trend. Ensembles of synthetic fractional Gaussian noises with corresponding properties and different Hurst exponents from 0.6-0.9 are studied. The results are compared to another method for finding the Hurst exponent, the Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA).
