An examination of such an explication furthers the position of Younge and Sassenrath that in thip task, subjects strumre their experience relating their own personal histories to the structure of the task and materials. In addition, the present study indicates that when an experimenter attempts to &scribe the meaning of an experimental experience he does so in light of his Faowledge of all the experimental conditions. Deriving the descriptions from the subjects allows the experience to unfold in a manner more closely congruent with what a subject experiences, which can then be dialogued with the experimenter's theoretical stance.
