CONTRIBUTION OF THE PEOPLES OF UZBEKISTAN TO ISLAMIC CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION, 2021
Today, the study of the heritage and works of the great ancestors who lived on the territory of M... more Today, the study of the heritage and works of the great ancestors who lived on the territory of Mavaraunnahr, who made a great contribution to the development of Islamic sciences and culture, is one of the fundamental points in the self-identification of young independent states in the post-Soviet space. In addition, these works not only help in the education of the younger rising generation, but also serve as excellent factual and practical material for confronting religious radicalism. The purpose of the article is to show how rich is the legacy of the great scientists of Mavaraunnahr, which can be used not only in the study of Islamic sciences, but also in countering new modern threats, an adequate response to religious extremism. And also, to show what role the scientists of Mavaraunnahr played in the development of Islamic culture and sciences. The work used both primary sources and secondary research by scientists of the 20th - early 21st centuries. Historical and comparative analyses were taken as the basis of the methodology; systematization according to chronology was widely used. One of the main results and conclusions of the article is that it actually proves once again how enormous the labours and multifaceted talents of the ulema and ascetics of Mavaraunnahr were in the spread and development of Islam in the region and beyond.
The article attempts to show the importance of the contribution made by the peoples of Mavaraunnahr to the development of Islamic sciences and culture. The works and their brief description on the subject of the main topics considered in the work are given. Particular attention is paid to the main works of the ulema and scientists, who to this day are the standard-bearers of Islamic sciences and Muslim culture. The entry of the Arabs into the region and their subsequent activities are viewed critically and as objectively as possible. The article also makes an attempt to analyse the importance of the activities of medieval scientists in relation to today. At the end of the article, general conclusions on the article are given.

(Mawarannahr) is one of the fundamental moments in the
process of self-identification and the formation of modern
Uzbekistan. Not only do their works help to understand the
historical, national, and religious roots, but they also educate
the younger generation in the spirit of devotion and respect
for the Motherland. They also serve as an excellent factual
and practical material for confronting religious radicalism
under the new conditions of various threats emergence.
The purpose of the article is to show how rich and
valuable the heritage of the great scientists of Mawarannahr
is and how it can be used not only in the study of the Islamic
sciences but also in fighting modern threats, coming as an
adequate response to religious extremism. Moreover, their
legacy demonstrated the role of the scholars of Mawarannahr
at the dawn of Islamic civilization in the formation and
development of emerging Islamic sciences. The work relied
on both primary sources and other research works of scientists
of the 20th – early 21st centuries.

Firstly, the responses to the crisis should not repeat the same ill-founded concepts of the past, and secondly, their collapse will not necessarily lead to a strengthening of progressive policy, but could see the emergence of an extremist far right policy caused by fear and marginalization.” These two challenges are in fact two central threats for the Central Asian Social-Democracy.
