This study aimed to examine the digital competence of 102 pre-service English language teachers a... more This study aimed to examine the digital competence of 102 pre-service English language teachers and identified areas of strength and weakness. A questionnaire aligned with the European Framework for Educators' Digital Competence (DigCompEdu) was used to assess self-perceived competence in various digital areas. The findings revealed strengths in organizational communication, professional collaboration, managing and sharing digital resources, guidance, collaborative and self-regulated learning, accessibility and inclusion, and digital content creation. However, reflective practice and analyzing evidence were identified as areas of relative weakness. The study highlighted the need for targeted training programs and curriculum enhancements to address these gaps. Technology has impacted in most of the sectors, including education field. Nowadays, many schools... more Technology has impacted in most of the sectors, including education field. Nowadays, many schools have incorporated technology through the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into the learning. The use of platforms such as Google Classroom is one of the ways to fit the best classroom practices. This study reveals the teacher's perception on the use of Google Classroom as a learning media. The qualitative research design which applies interview method is carried out. Seven high school teachers in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia, who have actively integrated Google Classroom in their teaching for at least 1 year became the participants. Findings showed that teachers use it as a facilitation tool for managing students' tasks, organizing classroom and accommodating students' interaction. In general, teachers perceived the use of Google Classroom was very helpful to conduct their virtual classroom. However, teachers stated that they needed to maximize other features of Google Classroom as they hadn't explored all which would surely bring benefits for their professional development.

To meet the new standard, there is a need to upgrade the development of the learning materials. Therefore, this study is aimed to portray the ICT competencies covered in the reading skill modules as a concern in addressing the issue of ICT competencies development in education. The qualitative content analysis is used as the method of this study. The main source of data is reading skills modules which are taken from four reading courses (Reading I, II, III, and IV) in Open University English Education Study Program. The results of this study show that 90 representations of ICT competencies are found and mostly represented in the form of Hypermedia, followed by Hyperlink, Multimedia (graphs, tables, and diagrams) and Communication Media (e-mail). Due to the explosive growth of technology, teachers are required to integrate technology into the... more Due to the explosive growth of technology, teachers are required to integrate technology into the classroom to engage learners who are regarded as digital natives. Digital storytelling can be an alternative medium for vocabulary learning. This case study examined how young learners perceived the implementation of digital storytelling during vocabulary learning. In-depth interviews and closed-ended questionnaires were employed to investigate the use of digital storytelling in the classroom. The sample of the study recruited 23 fifth-grade learners from an elementary school in Tuban, East Java. The qualitative data from the interviews and questionnaires of the young learners revealed that they considered digital storytelling more engaging, fascinating, and motivating for improving their vocabulary development. As a result, EFL teachers are recommended to deliver appropriate digital storytelling to young learners in order to teach vocabulary and support their vocabulary development.

Using content analysis, the researcher analyzed the honesty throughout the documents. The data was words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and the pharaprashing of them. The data was taken from Vocational High School’s documents used by English teachers of vocational school. The finding showed that honesty appears explicitly and implicitly. All the aspects of character building of honesty were stipulated in syllabus provided by the government. The indicators of honesty that appear in the lesson plan, learning material, and assessment of English language subject in vocational high school are integrity, academic honesty, and sportsmanship. Those indicators are addressed implicitly in the documents represented by sub indicators such as the prohibition to cheat in doing the assignment and so forth. Curriculum document is a planning, implementation, evaluation, management, and administration of education programs either in written forms, spoken statements, descriptions, or archaeologies. The curriculum document which had been analyzed consisted of semester planning of teaching and learning program (SPTLP)/syllabus, learning material and assessment taken from three universities – one was from Jakarta and the others were from Bandung. This study used qualitative content analysis method. The result of this study showed that ethical values such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship were addressed in SPTLP/syllabus, learning materials, and assessments in each university either explicitly or implicitly in the form of words, phrases, and clauses. This study used Research and Development (R&D) modified model of Dick and Carey which employs three stages to design the Needs-Based English syllabus by doing needs analysis, developing the syllabus and validating the syllabus. The findings reveals that the topics, learning objectives, materials, learning activities and assessments in the existing syllabus related with the Islamic education study program do not appear nor represent the language needs of the undergraduate Islamic education study program at STAI Al Aqidah Al Hasyimiyyah. Vocational high school education has been a hot topic in Indonesia. It focuses on the development... more Vocational high school education has been a hot topic in Indonesia. It focuses on the development of students' skills in specific fields and expects graduate students to be skilful and ready to work. English is one of the subjects that should equip students with particular knowledge and communication skills that support their work. However, the reading materials do not correspond to their vocational education needs and are not based on ICT, despite the goal of assisting students in gaining technical knowledge of specific skills. Teachers continue to rely on textbooks and have little interest in developing their own materials, despite the availability of ICT. The objectives of this study are to (1) identify and describe ICT competencies that are significantly owned by Classical Music Study Program grade 11 students, (2) identify relevant English reading materials for Classical Music Study Program grade 11 students and (3) construct relevant and potential ICT competencies in English reading materials for the Classical Music Study Program. The researcher will use a need analysis of ICT competencies and English reading materials for Classical Music Study Program. The result of this research exposed the ICT competency indicators, relevant English reading materials for Classical Music students, and ICT competency in English reading materials.
