Tourism is, no doubt, one of the fastest growing industries in the world. It faces many problems too, especially in the developing countries like Pakistan. Many of these problems create real obstacles to get the targets that may be achieved otherwise. If the problems associated with this industry are seriously addressed it will not only increase the facilitation but will increase the confidence by satisfying the visitor. At the same time will enhance the economy of the country and will contribute to the wellbeing of the people of the area. The development of tourist resorts in the mountainous areas of Pakistan is one of the chief contributions of the colonial rule. Though Fort Munro remained the summer headquarter of the British bureaucracy but it emerged as public tourist attraction after the establishment of Pakistan. This region has wide potential for tourism and is suitable for eco and adventure tourism. This case study aims to look into the tourism potential and the constraints that are obstructing the flow of tourist in Fort Munro. The study also wanted to explore the state of infrastructure, the service quality and security conditions in the target area. To investigate broadly, to reach to some reliable results, questionnaires were developed and an interview was conducted with Deputy Director , FMDA. SPSS software was used to analyse the data and apply certain tests. The research discovers that quality of approachability i.e. infrastructure, standard of services regarding accommodation & food and security conditions contribute directly to pleasure of tourists. Satisfactory level of services convinces the tourist to revisit and ultimately contribute to development of tourism industry in a region. The findings of the study discover the potential of tourism in Fort Munro and indicate issues related to availability of funds, transportation, quality of services and security. At the end of the study recommendations and suggestions have been forwarded to improve tourism in Fort Munro and surroundings.
