Increasing expectations of health tourists for health services improves the quality of nursing care services for foreign clients. Due to globalization, nurses are required to handle the increasing number of overseas visitors and immigrants. Objectives: This study was conducted to assess cultural capability in the professional care of nurses for medical tourists in Iran. Methods: We conducted 23 semi-structured interviews in 2021 - 2022 in this qualitative study. The interviewees included nurses from international wards and wards with international patients, patients, patient companions, and doctors. The interviews were conducted using a goal-oriented method. Background: Mental health is a serious concern for burn survivors. Burn injuries can bring long-t... more Background: Mental health is a serious concern for burn survivors. Burn injuries can bring long-term complications that begin at the moment of injury and last throughout a burn victim’s life. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a home care plan in the mental health status of burn survivors six months after hospital discharge. Methods: This randomized clinical trial with intervention and control groups was conducted in Kermanshah, Iran. Eligible samples (n = 90) were allocated into the two groups by a randomized block design. The intervention group received a home care plan for six months. The General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) was responded to by the samples at three time points, baseline (T1: hospital discharge) and 3 (T2), and six months (T3) after the intervention. Results: The mean scores of the GHQ-28 showed a descending trend in the intervention group during six months (T1: 32.48 ± 15.83, T2: 25.15 ± 15.11, and T3: 19.37 ± 14.11). However, the ...

Background Medical tourism is traveling to another country to promote, restore and maintain healt... more Background Medical tourism is traveling to another country to promote, restore and maintain health, recreation, and pleasure. There are different types of health tourism, including medical tourism, recovery tourism, and preventive tourism. This study aimed to explain safe acceptance in the nurses’ cultural care of medical tourists in Iran. Methods In this qualitative study, 18 semi-structured interviews were conducted with nurses, patients, and patients’ relatives, who had been selected by purposeful sampling in 2021–2022. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and then analyzed by conventional content analysis. Results The statistical analysis revealed that the main theme of this study was safe acceptance which included the five categories of trust building, safety, maintaining comfort and peace, stress control, and identifying patients’ expectations. A total of 117 participants were recruited out of which 86 were included in the analysis. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study design was used. A total of 120 neonatal nurses who working in NICUs & neonatal units in Ardebil province, Iran were selected using the convenience sampling technique. A questionnaire of Nurses’ Perceptions of Neonatal Pain (Cong, 2013), including 36 questions with Likert scale and 2 open ended questions, was used. Data collected were analyzed with descriptive statistics of frequencies and percentages.Results: Nurses had Appropriate knowledge of neonatal pain management , but less than 50% felt that they received adequate training and continuing education on pain. Participants reported that they don’t use of pain assessment tools (65%). Less than half felt that the pain tool used in their unit was an accurate measure (44.2%).
