Starting from the concept of folk art as a historical phenomenon that refers to particular civic ... more Starting from the concept of folk art as a historical phenomenon that refers to particular civic processes of valorisation, selection and representation of peasant painting traditions, its role can be considered against the backdrop of specific economic, social and political circumstances of congenial cultural activities, which, from the end of the 19 th century to the World War II, included the practices of gathering of ethnographic collections, the formation of the first museum collections and museum activities, the development of artistic crafts, encouragement of home-based handicraft businesses, as well as education in visual arts through professional education. This paper provides a historical overview of the process of affirmation of folk art, with an emphasis on musealisation and it is intended as a contribution to the interpretation of the initial collections of the Ethnographic Museum.

Polazeći od pojma narodne umjetnosti kao historijske pojave koja se odnosi na konkretne građanske... more Polazeći od pojma narodne umjetnosti kao historijske pojave koja se odnosi na konkretne građanske procese valorizacije, selekcije i reprezentacije seljačkih likovnih tradicija, njezinu ulogu možemo sagledati u određenim gospodarskim, socijalnim i političkim okolnostima. Također možemo je sagledati u okolnostima povezanih kulturnih djelatnosti, koje su od kraja 19. stoljeća do Drugoga svjetskog rata, obuhvatile praksu sabiranja etnografske građe, formiranje prvih muzejskih zbirki i djelovanje muzeja, razvoj umjetničkoga obrta, poticanje organiziranoga kućnog rukotvorstva kao i likovnu naobrazbu stručnim školovanjem. Ovaj rad povijesni je pregled procesa afirmacije pojma narodne umjetnosti s naglaskom na muzealizaciji i prilog je interpretaciji inicijalnoga fundusa Etnografskoga muzeja
Pregled posebnosti i znacajki Zbirke Perinic uvod je u razmatranje njezine prezentacije i slobodn... more Pregled posebnosti i znacajki Zbirke Perinic uvod je u razmatranje njezine prezentacije i slobodne dostupnosti u virtualnom okružju u obliku interaktivnog mrežnog kataloga, u praksi nove muzejske publikacije, izrađene koristenjem suvremenih informacijskih tehnologija. Pri osmisljavanju, razradi i realizaciji ovog projekta valjalo se referirati i na relevantna teorijska promisljanja koja su potvrdila pocetne postavke u okviru modela mrežnog kataloga i polaznih premisa u organizaciji i konceptualnom oblikovanju njegovih sadržajnih cjelina.
The survey of the specific features of the Perinić Collection represents an introduction to the c... more The survey of the specific features of the Perinić Collection represents an introduction to the consideration of its presentation and accessibility in the form of an interactive on-line catalogue, a new practice in museum publication activities produced by modern information technologies. In the intellectual organisation, design and implementation of the project due reference had to be made to relevant theoretical considerations which confirmed the initial propositions within the scope of the on-line catalogue model and the initial premises in the organisation and conception of its units.
