Een definitief verdwijnen is voor velen geen aanlokkelijk idee. Maar verdwijnen we wel definitief? En als ons persoonlijk bewustzijn blijft voortbestaan waar komt dat dan terecht? After a historical overview of the psychical research into reincarnation memories, the authors present well-documented cases that have been studied by scholars from East and West.
The authors place themselves in the tradition of American psychiatrists Ian Stevenson and Jim Tucker and their Indian predecessors, as well as colleagues such as the late Dr. Erlendur Haraldsson, Dr. Satwant Pasricha and anthropologist James Matlock.
Dr. Rawat has independently studied many children with memories of a past life in Asia, including classic cases in India such as Shanti Devi, Jagdish Chandra and Swarn Lata Mishra.
Rivas has investigated cases in the Netherlands that show the same basic pattern, even though most of them remain unsolved.
The authors address alternative psychological and parapsychological hypotheses for the findings in the field and demonstrate why reincarnation of a personal psyche offers the best explanation. Based on this assumption, they look at the possible future of parapsychological reincarnation research.

Hoe onterecht dit feitelijk is, blijkt uit de recensies en essays in dit boek van drs. Titus Rivas, geschreven tussen medio jaren 1990 en 2017. Hij staat onder meer stil bij het lichaam-geest probleem, interactie tussen hersenen en psyche, gangbare bezwaren tegen het dualisme, psychogene causaliteit en epifenomenalisme, een psychisch geheugen, en bewustzijn bij niet-menselijke dieren. Een aantal essays werden geschreven in samenwerking met wijlen Anny Dirven (1935-2016) voor Stichting Athanasia. Bij het artikel Exit epifenomenalisme trad dr. Hein van Dongen op als coauteur. Hij staat onder meer stil bij het lichaam-geest probleem, interactie tussen hersenen en psyche, gangbare bezwaren tegen het dualisme, psychogene causaliteit en epifenomenalisme, een psychisch geheugen, en bewustzijn bij niet-menselijke dieren. Een aantal essays werden geschreven in samenwerking met wijlen Anny Dirven (1935-2016) voor Stichting Athanasia. Bij het artikel Exit epifenomenalisme trad dr. Hein van Dongen op als coauteur. Rivas hoopt met deze bundel aan te tonen dat substantialistisch dualisme meer wijsgerige aandacht verdient. Only a few of these cases of apparently non-physical veridical perception during NDEs have been carefully researched. In this article, we report a case described originally by cardiac surgeon Lloyd Rudy in a YouTube Internet video. Days later the patient saw a nurse and told him that it was he who had removed those dentures. The patient was right, but he should not have known this information, because tat the time the nurse had removed his dentures, the patient was clinically dead. Since publication of this account in a prestigious mainstream medical journal, speculations have abounded.
