Noise pollution adversely affects the health of human beings. The most important noises sources of noise are road traffic, aircraft, railways and industries, noise in the community from industrial and construction site and noise at home. Road traffic is by far the largest of these, and accounts for about 78 per cent of noise annoyance. In India, vehicular traffic is increasing rapidly, which has given birth to overcrowded roads and noise pollution. This study is primarily focusing on the monitoring of noise pollution at different places of Raipur City. In this study, noise monitoring was carried out with the help of sound level meter model (VA8080). Some important places of Raipur have been selected for noise level study purpose. All the places are categorized under different zones i.e. commercial zone, silent zone, industrial zone, and residential zone. All data were collected between 07:00 am to...

Mass transfer characteristics of three-phase fluidization were determined in the present experime... more Mass transfer characteristics of three-phase fluidization were determined in the present experimental work which was carried out in a vertical cylindrical acrylic column of 90mm internal diameter , 100 mm external diameter and height of the column is 1350 mm .Benzoic acid pellets, water and air were used as solid, liquid and gaseous phase respectively. Initially the superficial liquid velocity was maintained constant and superficial gas velocities varied. After attaining steady state, at a particular gas velocity, the fluidized bed height and manometer readings were recorded for pressure drop estimation. The above-mentioned procedure was repeated for four different liquid velocities in a fluidized bed. The effect on mass transfer for various specific liquid flow rates and gas flow rates were studied. It was observed that there is slight decrease in mass transfer with increase in gas flow rate and not significant difference in mass transfer by increasing liquid flow rate in cocurrent...

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) represents a systematic and well defined process which exam... more Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) represents a systematic and well defined process which examines the environmental consequences of the development actions of any proposed activity beforehand. The existing guidelines have been prescribed by a Government of India (MOEF) notification. Screening Scoping, Public Hearing followed by appraisal are the primary components of an EIA. A case study has been presented for the proposed establishment of a coal beneficiation plant. After conducting baseline environmental study, the incremental pollution loads have been assessed. The cumulative analysis of the study suggests that the project is environmentally feasible.

This data focuses on mass transfer enhancement using nanomaterial. In present investigation benzoic acid-water-air system was used as three phases ie solid, liquid and gas respectively with Arachitol nano as nanomaterial in different volume percent in three phase fluidized bed. Data from experiment were collected by varying gas velocity, bed height, nanomaterial percentage and time. After a convenient selection various correlation have been derived. The data presented here is the full set of experimental value and coefficients and exponents in correlation were estimated from nonlinear optimization technique in MATLAB.

Solid -Liquid mass transfer coefficient (K) was measured in Gas-Liquid-Solid Fluidized Beds by us... more Solid -Liquid mass transfer coefficient (K) was measured in Gas-Liquid-Solid Fluidized Beds by using the system of dissolution of benzoic acid in water. Benzoic acid pellets of various diameter- height combinations were prepared by pelletizing machine and effect of various parameters (superficial gas velocity, superficial liquid velocity, Reynolds number, particle Reynolds number based on gas and liquid velocity) on mass transfer of benzoic acid pellets in water has been studied. It was observed gas velocity plays an important role on mass transfer coefficient value. The effect of Reynolds number based on superficial gas velocity on rate of mass transfer was investigated with varying liquid velocity, bed height and pellet size. Increase in mass transfer coefficient was observed with increase in gas velocity, liquid velocity, bed height at fixed pellet size. As the pellet size decreases in one run, increase in mass transfer with increasing rate of remaining parameter was observed. Comparative study on effect of Reynolds number and particle Reynolds number along with liquid velocity, gas velocity on mass transfer has been shown that mass transfer coefficient increases with increase in Reynolds no., liquid velocity, gas velocity, bed height and with decrease particle Reynolds number.

In India, vehicular traffic is increasing rapidly, which has given birth to overcrowded roads and noise pollution. This study is primarily focusing on the monitoring of noise pollution at different places in Raipur City. In this study, noise monitoring was carried out with the help of a sound level meter model (VA8080). Some important places of Raipur have been selected for noise level study purpose. All the places are categorized under different zones i.e. commercial zone, silent zone, industrial zone and residential zone. All data were collected between 07:00 am to 09:00 p.m. Every hour the noise levels have been measured. To make the noise level more accurate each reading were taken in a gap of 6 minutes, that is, 10 readings per hour. And the average of the readings was taken as per hour sound intensity level. The study period of the survey was 15 days. Therefore this study reveals that the noise levels are higher than the standard level for each zones.
