Its productivity and quality depends upon many factors like arc voltage, current, weld speed and heat generated during welding. There have been many researches done on the MIG welding. In this particular study, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of varying welding current with constant voltage on the impact strength of the weld bead of similar and different material. The objective of this is to design a V-joint and check the strength of the similar and dissimilar metal pieces on different current and constant voltage conditions. The materials used in this study are mild steel and stainless steel. The method used for the impact testing is IZOD test.

For the next generation technologies designers required materials which have a high strength to weight ratio, good workability, excellent castability, good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, which can be easily obtained in metal matrix composite. The mechanical properties of this mmc always attract the automobile and aerospace industries. This paper deals with the aluminum metal composite which contains silicon carbide partials as reinforcement. In this article different properties like mechanical, chemical and physical properties of the metal composite are discussed, as well as various types of parameters, and their influence on each other was studied in detail. This paper specifically deals with the effect of silicon particles reinforcement in the aluminum metal matrix and their related phenomenon. Keywords: Metal Metrix Composite (MMC), Silicon Carbide (SiCp) Particles Reinforcement, Aluminum (Al) Matrix Composite (AMC).

During the process of firing a bullet or projectile the barrel undergoes many types of loads which produce stresses in it. So that the design of the barrel must be strong enough to withstand the heavy pressure loads. Due to the absence of the design data a simple design of the gun barrel was made using cad software. The chamber of the gun barrel was designed for the 14.5 x 114 mm bullet also known as 0.57 caliber bullet. In most of the developing countries homemade fire arm is a major problem faced by the criminologist not only because it was dangerous for the society but it is also dangerous for the holder itself. Most of the home made fire arms are made up of cheap steel and are weak in there fabrication. Keeping this thing in mind the gun barrel was to be of structural steel, to perform static analysis using ANSYS. Using a finite element analysis package a model was generated for the analysis purpose. This paper deals with the analysis of the gun barrel for the given boundary conditions. Keywords-firearm; barrel chamber; 0.57 caliber bullet; finite element analysis.

Reverse engineering is widely used technique to design the product now a days. The reason may differ like due to the lack of design documents or the product is no longer in production. In this paper the electric model of the air gun were fabricated using reverse engineering and a modal analysis of the different components of the product were performed to find the natural frequency of the designed model. The components were analyzed with different material to find the optimum design. The result clearly provides different orders of vibrations, some of them are very fierce and complex in their nature.
