Handball is a high-intensity contact sports activity characterized by repetitive movements, leadi... more Handball is a high-intensity contact sports activity characterized by repetitive movements, leading to sport-specific muscle patterns. However, at some stage, this pattern may turn into imbalance, predisposing athletes for injuries. The complexity of muscular interactions often makes it difficult to see a whole picture of an athlete's postural disorders and assess them within the framework of his stereotyped movements. We attempted to find an association between the muscle pattern and the number of injuries in a limited group of handball players by constructing a static logistical model. The constructed decision table of the static logistical model included seven conditional attributes of the muscle imbalance as preconditions for injury development and one decision attribute representing the number of experienced injuries of 25 university handball players. The findings displayed a sport-specific pattern of muscle alignment in athletes without or only one injury. However, all players with repetitive injuries had unilateral m. gluteus maximus weakness. In the latter case, impaired core body musculature can lead to increased share forces and stress for the gluteus maximus muscle leading to weakness of this crucial dynamic stabilizer. The logistical model allowed defining muscle imbalance associated with sports-related injuries in a limited group of athletes.
Bu çalışma Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde bireylerin anksiyete ve yaşam doyumu düzeylerini incelemeyi... more Bu çalışma Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde bireylerin anksiyete ve yaşam doyumu düzeylerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Henüz yeni bir çalışma alanı olan Covid 19 pandemi sürecinin bireylerin ruh sağlığını olumsuz etkilediği bilinmektedir. Bu bağlamda Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde bireylerin anksiyete ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiye daha önceki çalışmalarda ayrı bir şekilde bakılmamış olması nedeniyle çalışma önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin Osmaniye ilinde yaşayan bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmaya seçkisiz (randomize) örnekleme yönetimi ile seçilen 18-65 yaş arası yaşayan ve Türkçe konuşan 384 birey dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan veriler Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Yetişkin Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği ve Koronavirüs Anksiyete Ölçeği Kısa Formu aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında non-parametrik testlerden ikili gruplar için Mann-Whitney U, üç veya daha fazla grup için ise Kruskal-Wallis H analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda; bireylerin yaşam doyumu düzeylerinin cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim düzeyi ve birlikte yaşanılan kişi değişkenleri ile ilgili olmadığı tespit edilirken çalışma durumu ve gelir düzeyinin ise yaşam doyumu üzerinde etkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Buna göre Covid-19 sürecinde çalışan bireylerin çalışmayan bireylere göre; gelir düzeyi yüksek olan bireylerin ise gelir düzeyi düşük bireylere nazaran yaşam doyumu düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Çalışmada son olarak; bireylerin anksiyete düzeyleri ile yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde alanda çalışan ve terapi hizmeti sunan uzmanlara terapi hizmetlerinde ulaşılabilirliğinin arttırılması ve farklı sosyoekonomik düzeye sahip bireylere göre düzenlemelerin yapılması gerekliliği önerilmiştir.

Günümüzde konu ile ilgili yapılan birçok çalışma mevcut olmakla birlikte sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile yalnızlık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılacak olması tespitlerin yapılması açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu bağlamda lise öğrencilerinin sosyal görünüş kaygısı ve yalnızlık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyecek olan bu çalışmanın ilgili literatüre sağlayacağı katkı ve elde edilecek sonuçlar çerçevesinde alınabilecek bireysel ve toplumsal önlemler açısından da yol gösterici olma özelliği açısından önem arz ettiği açıktır. Çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin Uşak ilinde MEB'e bağlı liselerde öğrenim gören bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmaya amaca yönelik örnekleme ile seçilen 370 lise öğrencisi alınmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği (SGKÖ) ve Ucla Yalnızlık Ölçeği (UYÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında non-parametrik testlerden ikili gruplar için Mann-Whitney U, üç veya daha fazla grup için ise Kruskal-Wallis H analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada elde edilen bulguların bazılarının araştırma hipotezlerinde bulunan varsayımları desteklediği görülmektedir. Çalışma sonucunda; sosyal görünüş kaygısı düzeyinin yaş, sınıf düzeyi, ebeveyn tutumları ve fiziksel görünümden memnun olma durumu değişkenleri ile ilişkisi incelendiğinde yaş ve öğrenim görülen sınıf düzeyi arttıkça sosyal görünüş kaygısının azaldığı; fiziksel görünümden memnun olan ve ihmalkar ve ilgisiz ebeveyn tutumlarına sahip bireylerin ise sosyal görünüş kaygısı düzeylerinin arttığı ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Çalışmada son olarak; sosyal görünüş kaygısı ve yalnızlık düzeyi arasında düşük seviyede pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde bu alanda çalışan uzmanların genç bir nüfusa sahip olan ülkemiz gibi ülkelerde genç bireylerin sosyal görünüşlerinin ve beraberinde yaşadıkları yalnızlık duygularının genç nüfus arasnda oldukça ciddi bir problem alanı olduğu gerçeğinden hareketle hem bireysel hem aile hem de toplumsal çalışmaların bireylerin ruh sağlığını olumlu yönde etkileyeceğini ve gelecek yaşamlarında hem ruhsal hem de sosyal olarak daha sağlıklı bireyler olmalarına zemin hazırlayacaklarının bilincinde olarak psikolojik danışma süreçlerini planlamaları gerekliliği ortaya çıkarılmıştır.

Substantial knowledge in human anatomy is the premise for constructing lifelong effective exercis... more Substantial knowledge in human anatomy is the premise for constructing lifelong effective exercise programs in public health. The level of public awareness of the basic structure of the human body remains low for years and continues to be a challenge for trainees. The traditional teaching approach in anatomy studies utilizes inductive methodology, where body parts of the structure are taught separately, which might be productive for medical students. Teaching anatomy in nonmedical programs like physical education (PE), however, intends for a holistic understanding of the subject to accentuate functional anatomy, which differs from its classical medical programs purely structural comprehension. Consequently, we suggested that a deductive rather than an inductive form of teaching anatomy in PE might bring the difference and ease the studying process. To statistically analyze this hypothesis traditionally utilized in the PE inductive educational approach for anatomy study was compared with the newly introduced deductive form of teaching through retrospective evaluation of student's exam results. Exam scores of 1167 first-year students were divided into population and sample groups. The former included 1055 exam results of students previously taught by inductive methodology, whereas the latter consisted of 114 students' exam results after the deductive presentation of anatomy. The comparative analysis made by t-test for population-sample groups demonstrated significantly higher (p<0,001) exam scores in the sample group (40.1 ± 14.2 [95%CI 37.45-42.73]) comparing to the population group (34.5 ± 14.0 [95%CI 33.75-35.43]). The limited time of anatomy study and preliminary unawareness of human anatomy made the teacher-centered deductive approach in PE more effective.

School culture is a phenomenon that is created by students, teachers, administrators, parents, an... more School culture is a phenomenon that is created by students, teachers, administrators, parents, and other school staff members. It is formulated and operated by the school administrators. School culture is acquired in form of habits, beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and norms, and influences every aspect of how a school functions, including the methods of communication and the style of leadership of the school. Organizational trust in schools may not be formulated without school culture and the stakeholders of education are the key actors, who play crucial roles at the provision of organizational trust. Quality of the communication among administrators and other stakeholders plays an important role in constructing trust in a school, increasing motivation, and creating opportunities to express the needs and expectations to each other. Different perceptions among teachers and school administrators on educational leadership may cause problems regarding the organization of the school. This may in turn become a source of organizational conflict. This chapter involves the definition of instructional leadership, general features of an instructional leader, reconceptualization of instructional leadership as distributed leadership; concept of school culture and its features; and concept of institutional trust and role of instructional leadership in constructing school culture and trust in schools.

Online learning increases the chances of women's access to education. Online learning helps women... more Online learning increases the chances of women's access to education. Online learning helps women achieve their educational goals. In addition, it is seen as a potential solution to help women achieve their educational goals and ensure social, cultural and economic development of women worldwide. Because online learning provides flexible learning opportunities open to everyone with freedom of time and space, and facilitates education with the use of technology. In the light of the literature review and because of the scarcity of research about the education of women in North Cyprus, this study aimed to determine the educational needs of women living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This is a quantitative study, and the data were collected from 500 volunteers randomly selected women living in Nicosia and Famagusta cities of North Cyprus. A survey generated by inductive method was administered to participants, and the data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 program. Parametric tests were used in the analysis since the collected data showed a normal distribution. Descriptive statistics, such as percentage and frequency, were used to analyze demographic data. 80.6% of the participants require receiving English language education, 74.6% require social media education, 100% of the participants require receiving courses about baby care, child development, adolescence and mental health, 32.8% of them require healthy nutrition courses, 52.4% require ceramic courses, 98.6% of them would like to take part in a choir to receive music education and 56.4% would like to receive sports training. 50.4% of the participants would like to receive their training at their home as online learning, 88.6% would like to receive their training before noon on weekdays and 69.0% of them prefer to receive synchronous bidirectional interactive type of online learning. In addition, 55.6% of the participants would like to receive this training for free.

Araştırmanın evreni Lefkoşa ilçesinde farklı türde 19 lise kurumunda öğrenim gören toplam 11,350 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Okul türleri dikkate alınarak 7 okuldaki 250 öğrenci, bu okullardan örneklem olarak 120 öğrenci rastgele örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak seçilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde istatistiksel olarak frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) değerlerden ve ki-kare istatistik tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, şiddete neden olabilecek birçok faktörden (aile, akran grubu, okul, televizyon, internet v.b.) söz edilebilir. Bunlardan özellikle TV programları, internet üzerinde durulmuştur. Medyadaki şiddetin gençler üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini önleyebilmek için başta aileler olmak üzere toplumun her kesimine büyük görevler düşmektedir.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Walking speed associates with a person's functional status and balance confidenc... more BACKGROUND/AIMS: Walking speed associates with a person's functional status and balance confidence, both of which diminish with age. The difference in children's body composition and prepubertal metabolic rate suggested gender variability in their walking parameters. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The preferred step length, cadence, and overall walking speed of 457 school children (256 boys) aged 12.65±2.16 years old were assessed during a 20 meter walk. The participants' height, weight, and heart rate values were also collected. RESULTS: The preferred walking speed analysis demonstrated that the girls, despite their shorter height and age, moved faster than the boys (1.35±0.22 m/sec in boys. 1.43±0.22 m/sec in girls, p<0.01). The girls' baseline heart rate correlated with their final walking speed (n=177, r=0.202, p<0.05). Although, as expected, the children's step length positively correlated with their height (n=457, r=0.42; p<0.05), with an increase in the child's height, the step-to-height ratio decreased significantly (n=457, r=-0.40; p<0.05). The average walking speed in prepubertal children (1.39±0.22 m/sec) was the highest among all population groups. CONCLUSION: Girls demonstrated better walking performance compared to boys. The preferred walking speed allows for a quick assessment of the child's physical development necessary for effective exercise programs.

The scale of the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 was used to collect the data. The purpose of this research; to determine the level of care and realization of the use of the me... more The purpose of this research; to determine the level of care and realization of the use of the means of communication with the parents of the branch teachers working in primary schools. The universe of work consists of 6 primary schools in Nicosia in 2018 academic year and 68 branches (permanent and contracted) working in these schools. Since all of the study universe in the study has been reached, no sample has been taken. 67 people were evaluated. The survey model was used in the study. "Elementary School Teachers' Ways to Communicate with Parents Scale Form" which is five point likert scale and developed by Coşkun in 2010 was used as data collection tool. In this study, the scale consists of two parts. In the first part, personal information form consisting of variables of "age, gender, branch, type of duty, education status, vocational seniority and communication course" and in the second part there are 47 behaviors aiming to measure the degree of importance and realization of the way teachers use to communicate with the parents.

Araştırmanın evrenini Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti'nde bulunan ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan ilköğretim öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma için yarı yapılandırılmış açık uçlu sorular kullanılmıştır Nitel araştırma deseninde, yönteminde yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ve doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde kodlanması ve kategorize edilmesini içeren içerik analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmenler daha önce bilinçli veya bilinçsiz olarak mobbinge maruz kaldıklarını, mobbinge maruz kalan öğretmen ve idarecileri gözlemlediklerini ve öğretmenlerin mobbing durumlarına yönetici veya öğretmenlerden kaynaklandığını belirtmişlerdir. Mobbing ile karşılaşıldığında çözüm önerileri, mobbing uygulayan kişi ile yüz yüze konuşmak, aldırmadan işini yapmak, mobbing uygulayan kişiyi görmezden gelerek, başarısı ile cevap verme, sendika veya üst yönetimle iletişime geçme veya tayin isteme yöntemlerine başvurulmaktadırlar.

Araştırma sonunda ortaya çıkan veriler SPSS 22.0 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Katılımcıların okul kültürü ve psikolojik sermaye ölçeklerinin alt boyutlarından aldığı toplam puanlara denk gelen ortalama, en küçük ve en büyük değerler, standard sapma gibi tanımlayıcı istatistikler Skewness Kurtosis testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca Okul Kültürü Ölçeği ile Psikolojik Sermaye Ölçeklerinin alt boyutlarının demografik özellikler ile aralarındaki farkın belirlenmesi için t testi analizi, araştırmada kullanılan iki ölçeğin ve alt boyutlarının birbirleri ile olan korelasyonlarının belirlenmesinde Pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon analizleri sonucunda okul öncesi öğretmenlerin okul kültürü algıları ve psikolojik sermaye düzeyleri arasında negative, düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda var olan sonuçların bu alanla ilgili literature ve daha sonra yapılacak olan çalışmalara ayrıca konunun gelişimine katkı sağlayacağı değerlendirilmektedir.

Haber verme, kamuoyu olusturma, egitme, eglendirme gibi cesitli islevleri ustlenen bu araclarin kisilerin yasam bicimlerini, begenilerini, tuketim konusundaki tercih ve aliskanliklarini, genclerin duyarlilik ve davranislarini etkiledigi bilinmektedir. Handball is a high-intensity contact sports activity characterized by repetitive movements, leadi... more Handball is a high-intensity contact sports activity characterized by repetitive movements, leading to sport-specific muscle patterns. However, at some stage, this pattern may turn into imbalance, predisposing athletes for injuries. The complexity of muscular interactions often makes it difficult to see a whole picture of an athlete's postural disorders and assess them within the framework of his stereotyped movements. We attempted to find an association between the muscle pattern and the number of injuries in a limited group of handball players by constructing a static logistical model. The constructed decision table of the static logistical model included seven conditional attributes of the muscle imbalance as preconditions for injury development and one decision attribute representing the number of experienced injuries of 25 university handball players. The findings displayed a sport-specific pattern of muscle alignment in athletes without or only one injury. However, all players with repetitive injuries had unilateral m. gluteus maximus weakness. In the latter case, impaired core body musculature can lead to increased share forces and stress for the gluteus maximus muscle leading to weakness of this crucial dynamic stabilizer. The logistical model allowed defining muscle imbalance associated with sports-related injuries in a limited group of athletes.

Henüz yeni bir çalışma alanı olan Covid 19 pandemi sürecinin bireylerin ruh sağlığını olumsuz etkilediği bilinmektedir. Bu bağlamda Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde bireylerin anksiyete ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiye daha önceki çalışmalarda ayrı bir şekilde bakılmamış olması nedeniyle çalışma önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin Osmaniye ilinde yaşayan bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmaya seçkisiz (randomize) örnekleme yönetimi ile seçilen 18-65 yaş arası yaşayan ve Türkçe konuşan 384 birey dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan veriler Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Yetişkin Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği ve Koronavirüs Anksiyete Ölçeği Kısa Formu aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında non-parametrik testlerden ikili gruplar için Mann-Whitney U, üç veya daha fazla grup için ise Kruskal-Wallis H analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda; bireylerin yaşam doyumu düzeylerinin cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim düzeyi ve birlikte yaşanılan kişi değişkenleri ile ilgili olmadığı tespit edilirken çalışma durumu ve gelir düzeyinin ise yaşam doyumu üzerinde etkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Buna göre Covid-19 sürecinde çalışan bireylerin çalışmayan bireylere göre; gelir düzeyi yüksek olan bireylerin ise gelir düzeyi düşük bireylere nazaran yaşam doyumu düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Çalışmada son olarak; bireylerin anksiyete düzeyleri ile yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde alanda çalışan ve terapi hizmeti sunan uzmanlara terapi hizmetlerinde ulaşılabilirliğinin arttırılması ve farklı sosyoekonomik düzeye sahip bireylere göre düzenlemelerin yapılması gerekliliği önerilmiştir.

Günümüzde konu ile ilgili yapılan birçok çalışma mevcut olmakla birlikte sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile yalnızlık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılacak olması tespitlerin yapılması açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu bağlamda lise öğrencilerinin sosyal görünüş kaygısı ve yalnızlık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyecek olan bu çalışmanın ilgili literatüre sağlayacağı katkı ve elde edilecek sonuçlar çerçevesinde alınabilecek bireysel ve toplumsal önlemler açısından da yol gösterici olma özelliği açısından önem arz ettiği açıktır. Çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin Uşak ilinde MEB'e bağlı liselerde öğrenim gören bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmaya amaca yönelik örnekleme ile seçilen 370 lise öğrencisi alınmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği (SGKÖ) ve Ucla Yalnızlık Ölçeği (UYÖ) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada son olarak; sosyal görünüş kaygısı ve yalnızlık düzeyi arasında düşük seviyede pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde bu alanda çalışan uzmanların genç bir nüfusa sahip olan ülkemiz gibi ülkelerde genç bireylerin sosyal görünüşlerinin ve beraberinde yaşadıkları yalnızlık duygularının genç nüfus arasnda oldukça ciddi bir problem alanı olduğu gerçeğinden hareketle hem bireysel hem aile hem de toplumsal çalışmaların bireylerin ruh sağlığını olumlu yönde etkileyeceğini ve gelecek yaşamlarında hem ruhsal hem de sosyal olarak daha sağlıklı bireyler olmalarına zemin hazırlayacaklarının bilincinde olarak psikolojik danışma süreçlerini planlamaları gerekliliği ortaya çıkarılmıştır.

Substantial knowledge in human anatomy is the premise for constructing lifelong effective exercis... more Substantial knowledge in human anatomy is the premise for constructing lifelong effective exercise programs in public health. The level of public awareness of the basic structure of the human body remains low for years and continues to be a challenge for trainees. The traditional teaching approach in anatomy studies utilizes inductive methodology, where body parts of the structure are taught separately, which might be productive for medical students. Teaching anatomy in nonmedical programs like physical education (PE), however, intends for a holistic understanding of the subject to accentuate functional anatomy, which differs from its classical medical programs purely structural comprehension. Consequently, we suggested that a deductive rather than an inductive form of teaching anatomy in PE might bring the difference and ease the studying process. To statistically analyze this hypothesis traditionally utilized in the PE inductive educational approach for anatomy study was compared with the newly introduced deductive form of teaching through retrospective evaluation of student's exam results. Exam scores of 1167 first-year students were divided into population and sample groups. The former included 1055 exam results of students previously taught by inductive methodology, whereas the latter consisted of 114 students' exam results after the deductive presentation of anatomy. The comparative analysis made by t-test for population-sample groups demonstrated significantly higher (p<0,001) exam scores in the sample group (40.1 ± 14.2 [95%CI 37.45-42.73]) comparing to the population group (34.5 ± 14.0 [95%CI 33.75-35.43]). The limited time of anatomy study and preliminary unawareness of human anatomy made the teacher-centered deductive approach in PE more effective.

School culture is a phenomenon that is created by students, teachers, administrators, parents, an... more School culture is a phenomenon that is created by students, teachers, administrators, parents, and other school staff members. It is formulated and operated by the school administrators. School culture is acquired in form of habits, beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and norms, and influences every aspect of how a school functions, including the methods of communication and the style of leadership of the school. Organizational trust in schools may not be formulated without school culture and the stakeholders of education are the key actors, who play crucial roles at the provision of organizational trust. Quality of the communication among administrators and other stakeholders plays an important role in constructing trust in a school, increasing motivation, and creating opportunities to express the needs and expectations to each other. Different perceptions among teachers and school administrators on educational leadership may cause problems regarding the organization of the school. This may in turn become a source of organizational conflict. This chapter involves the definition of instructional leadership, general features of an instructional leader, reconceptualization of instructional leadership as distributed leadership; concept of school culture and its features; and concept of institutional trust and role of instructional leadership in constructing school culture and trust in schools.

Online learning helps women achieve their educational goals. In addition, it is seen as a potential solution to help women achieve their educational goals and ensure social, cultural and economic development of women worldwide. Because online learning provides flexible learning opportunities open to everyone with freedom of time and space, and facilitates education with the use of technology. In the light of the literature review and because of the scarcity of research about the education of women in North Cyprus, this study aimed to determine the educational needs of women living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This is a quantitative study, and the data were collected from 500 volunteers randomly selected women living in Nicosia and Famagusta cities of North Cyprus. A survey generated by inductive method was administered to participants, and the data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 program. Parametric tests were used in the analysis since the collected data showed a normal distribution. Descriptive statistics, such as percentage and frequency, were used to analyze demographic data. 80.6% of the participants require receiving English language education, 74.6% require social media education, 100% of the participants require receiving courses about baby care, child development, adolescence and mental health, 32.8% of them require healthy nutrition courses, 52.4% require ceramic courses, 98.6% of them would like to take part in a choir to receive music education and 56.4% would like to receive sports training. 50.4% of the participants would like to receive their training at their home as online learning, 88.6% would like to receive their training before noon on weekdays and 69.0% of them prefer to receive synchronous bidirectional interactive type of online learning. In addition, 55.6% of the participants would like to receive this training for free.

Araştırmanın evreni Lefkoşa ilçesinde farklı türde 19 lise kurumunda öğrenim gören toplam 11,350 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Okul türleri dikkate alınarak 7 okuldaki 250 öğrenci, bu okullardan örneklem olarak 120 öğrenci rastgele örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak seçilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde istatistiksel olarak frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) değerlerden ve ki-kare istatistik tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, şiddete neden olabilecek birçok faktörden (aile, akran grubu, okul, televizyon, internet v.b.) söz edilebilir. Bunlardan özellikle TV programları, internet üzerinde durulmuştur. Medyadaki şiddetin gençler üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini önleyebilmek için başta aileler olmak üzere toplumun her kesimine büyük görevler düşmektedir.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Walking speed associates with a person's functional status and balance confidenc... more BACKGROUND/AIMS: Walking speed associates with a person's functional status and balance confidence, both of which diminish with age. The difference in children's body composition and prepubertal metabolic rate suggested gender variability in their walking parameters. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The preferred step length, cadence, and overall walking speed of 457 school children (256 boys) aged 12.65±2.16 years old were assessed during a 20 meter walk. The participants' height, weight, and heart rate values were also collected. RESULTS: The preferred walking speed analysis demonstrated that the girls, despite their shorter height and age, moved faster than the boys (1.35±0.22 m/sec in boys. 1.43±0.22 m/sec in girls, p<0.01). The girls' baseline heart rate correlated with their final walking speed (n=177, r=0.202, p<0.05). Although, as expected, the children's step length positively correlated with their height (n=457, r=0.42; p<0.05), with an increase in the child's height, the step-to-height ratio decreased significantly (n=457, r=-0.40; p<0.05). The average walking speed in prepubertal children (1.39±0.22 m/sec) was the highest among all population groups. CONCLUSION: Girls demonstrated better walking performance compared to boys. The preferred walking speed allows for a quick assessment of the child's physical development necessary for effective exercise programs.

The universe of work consists of 6 primary schools in Nicosia in 2018 academic year and 68 branches (permanent and contracted) working in these schools. Since all of the study universe in the study has been reached, no sample has been taken. 67 people were evaluated. The survey model was used in the study. "Elementary School Teachers' Ways to Communicate with Parents Scale Form" which is five point likert scale and developed by Coşkun in 2010 was used as data collection tool. In this study, the scale consists of two parts. In the first part, personal information form consisting of variables of "age, gender, branch, type of duty, education status, vocational seniority and communication course" and in the second part there are 47 behaviors aiming to measure the degree of importance and realization of the way teachers use to communicate with the parents.

Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmenler daha önce bilinçli veya bilinçsiz olarak mobbinge maruz kaldıklarını, mobbinge maruz kalan öğretmen ve idarecileri gözlemlediklerini ve öğretmenlerin mobbing durumlarına yönetici veya öğretmenlerden kaynaklandığını belirtmişlerdir. Araştırma sonunda ortaya çıkan veriler SPSS 22.0 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Katılımcıların okul kültürü ve psikolojik sermaye ölçeklerinin alt boyutlarından aldığı toplam puanlara denk gelen ortalama, en küçük ve en büyük değerler, standard sapma gibi tanımlayıcı istatistikler Skewness Kurtosis testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca Okul Kültürü Ölçeği ile Psikolojik Sermaye Ölçeklerinin alt boyutlarının demografik özellikler ile aralarındaki farkın belirlenmesi için t testi analizi, araştırmada kullanılan iki ölçeğin ve alt boyutlarının birbirleri ile olan korelasyonlarının belirlenmesinde Pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon analizleri sonucunda okul öncesi öğretmenlerin okul kültürü algıları ve psikolojik sermaye düzeyleri arasında negative, düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda var olan sonuçların bu alanla ilgili literature ve daha sonra yapılacak olan çalışmalara ayrıca konunun gelişimine katkı sağlayacağı değerlendirilmektedir.
