This descriptive study aims to investigate the implementation of student project assignments related to biodiversity studies and to propose the potential of citizen science as a global perspective and follow-up to project assignments in studying biodiversity to enhance its meaningfulness. Several students of the Biology Department in one university in East Java-Indonesia were involved as respondents (n = 74) and several scientific articles were used as sources of potential information of citizen science (n = 15). The research aims to describe the characteristics of diffusion and osmosis practical design based on the student’s worksheet along with the development of the curriculum. The research method was descriptive. The samples used include eight student worksheets from different curriculums. Analysis indicators include the content, practical activities, and the construction of knowledge. Curriculum that used in the study began from the 2004 Standard-based Curriculum until 2013 Curriculum. Data analysis was conducted by scoring aspects of concepts, practices, and knowledge construction in student worksheets using the assessment rubric. This research was conducted in grade X which consists of 15 students in Senior High School of Global Mandiri Jakarta. The instrument is the questionnaire and interviews. Based on the results of the questionnaire, we found that most students gave positive responses. More than three-quarters of students can understand the plant and animal classification material well, can express their creativity, and are more active during online learning. Students are also satisfied with their peers' presentations. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with 9 sample worksheets determined by purposive sampling. The first step of this research is to test practicum in accordance with the available worksheets, then to analyze the worksheets using an analytical instrument adapted based on the Vee Diagram (Novak & Gowin, 1984). This study analyzed correlation between pre-service biology teachers’ tree thinking ability and their acceptance of evolution. Subjects were 41 pre-service biology teachers from two universities in West Java. Research instruments were TTCI (Tree Thinking Concept Inventory) and MATE (Measure of Acceptance of the Theory Evolution). Data was analyzed statistically. Result indicated that pre-service biology teachers’ tree thinking ability and their acceptance of evolution were categorized as moderate. Difference between gender as well as correlation between tree thinking ability and acceptance of evolution are discussed.

Practicum refers to the student worksheet (LKPD). The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the conceptual, practical, and knowledge construction components of the ABO blood group test students' worksheets which are used as a basis for making improvements and reconstruction of LKPD. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with a total of 5 LKPDs. The LKPD trial was carried out at the UPI physiology laboratory. The instruments used in this research are according to the Vee diagram and the structural analysis instruments developed. The results showed that the conceptual component was in accordance with the demands of the curriculum. This study analyzed correlation between pre-service biology teachers’ tree thinking ability and their acceptance of evolution. Subjects were 41 pre-service biology teachers from two universities in West Java. Research instruments were TTCI (Tree Thinking Concept Inventory) and MATE (Measure of Acceptance of the Theory Evolution). Data was analyzed statistically. Result indicated that pre-service biology teachers’ tree thinking ability and their acceptance of evolution were categorized as moderate. Difference between gender as well as correlation between tree thinking ability and acceptance of evolution are discussed.
