Педагогічні науки: реалії та перспективи Zahorodnii S., Ivanichkina N. Competent approach in the process of continuous education of teachers during the European integration of Ukraine The article attempts to outline the common points of contact of the legislative basis of the European Union and Ukraine in the field of continuing education in the context of the transformation of society, in particular, it analyzes such European documents as the Communiqué of the Conference of European Ministers of Higher Education, the Memorandum of Continuing Education of the European Union, Recommendation 2006/962/EC of the European of the Parliament and Council (EU) "On core competencies for lifelong learning" and others. Ukrainian legislative acts, such as the Law of Ukraine on Education, the Concept for the Development of Pedagogical Education, the Strategy for the Development of Higher Education in Ukraine for 2021-2031, and others, which regulate the issue of continuous education in our country, are compared. It was emphasized that one of the elements that was successfully integrated into the Ukrainian education system is the European credit transfer and accumulation system. Emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of the application of the competence approach in the process of continuous education in the conditions of European integration. The European and Ukrainian approaches to the formation and development of key competences during the continuous professional development of pedagogical workers were considered and analyzed. The need to improve the professional training of teachers due to the orientation of the content of continuous education to the competency approach has been updated. The conditions for the successful professionalization of pedagogical workers through the prism of the competence approach in the modern educational space of Ukraine are clarified. A conclusion is made regarding the role of successful implementation of the competence approach in the system of continuous education in the conditions of the European integration of our country in the context of training a modern competitive personality for an active life in the conditions of world globalization.

It has been proved that mankind has no other alternative for saving from the energy catastrophe (... more It has been proved that mankind has no other alternative for saving from the energy catastrophe (as a result of global warming) than a wide introcluction of fast-growing energy plants on all land areas where possible, especially for the degraded soil rehabilitation though without losses in land for obtaining the sufficient quantity of food products. Miscanthus giganteus (or napier grass) proves most effective among plant biofuels. This plant on the majority of Ukraine’s lands can yield considerably not only because of biomass quantities, but due to the lowest expenditures on its growing. Miscanthus giganteus also contributes to the degraded soil rehabilitations.

The functions of most of the lowmolecular-mass polypeptides, including PsbY, have remained elusive. Here we present a comparative characterization of the wild-type Synechocystis sp. strain PCC 6803 and a PsbY-free mutant derived from it. The results show that growth of the PsbY-free mutant was comparable to that of the wild-type when cells were cultivated in complete BG11 medium or under initial manganese or chloride limitation, and when illuminated at 20 or 200 lE m À2 s À1. However, while growth rates of both the wild-type and the PsbY-free mutant were reduced when cells were cultivated in BG11 medium in the absence of calcium, the reduction was significantly greater in the case of the PsbY-free mutant. This differential effect on growth of the mutant relative to the wild-type in CaCl 2 deficient medium was detected when the cells were illuminated with high-intensity light (200 lE m À2 s À1) but not when light levels were lower (20 lE m À2 s À1). The differential effect on growth was associated with lower O 2 evolving activity in the mutant compared to wild-type cells. The mutant was also found to be more sensitive to photoinhibition, and showed an altered pattern of fluorescence emission at 77 K. In addition, mass spectrometric analysis revealed that PsbY-free cells cultivated in CaCl 2 sufficient medium (in which no growth reduction was observed) had a significantly higher O 2 evolution from hydrogen peroxide and a lower O 2 evolution from water under flash light illumination than wild-type cells. These results imply that photosystem II is slightly impaired in the PsbY-free mutant, and that the mutant is less capable of coping with low levels of Ca 2+ than the wild-type.

This led to the transition from usual bibliometrics to scientometrics, and later to other more sophisticated forms of accounting for scientific activity, which can be divided into infometrics and altmetrics. Infometrics and its modifications take into account everything that could be formalized, while altmetrics seeks to include qualitative parameters in the realm of quantitative measurements. In this article, attention is focused precisely on the analysis of the relationship between quantitative methods and quantitative indicators of scientific activity with the progress of science thanks to a comparative assessment of bibliometrics, sci...

There is a need for a new type of social contract between society and citizens, which must necessarily be included in modern institutional systems. This contract manifests itself differently on the basis of different national cultures, so the socio-economic development should be based on intercultural dialogue between different countries, social systems and civic institutions. The internationalization and integration of higher education in the global and international aspect raises many new questions for theory and practice: what patterns, forms, methods of management are universal, and which of them are specific. It is assumed that it is necessary to identify and conceptualize the essential interdependence of systemic and functional...

Research paper thumbnail of Education for Sustainable Development and Beyond It

This paper aims to consider the human dimension of education for the sustainable development of s... more This paper aims to consider the human dimension of education for the sustainable development of society. A systematic approach in value analysis of social institutions should be used as a research methodology. The education for sustainable development should be based on the latest technical achievements, but these achievements themselves are not an end in itself. This education aims to develop humans as a person and humanity as a species in the face of increasing technological and other threats to humankind's very existence. Simultaneously, technologies turn out to be ambivalent-they can serve both the destruction of humankind and a significant deterioration in the conditions of its existence, or the development of humankind and the improvement of these conditions. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a prime example. AI could be used as a resource for education, but only until AI itself began to use people receiving education as its resource. Researchers should theoretically ground the decision on the degree of participation or limitation of AI in modern education, technically prepared by programmers and other AI practitioners. Still, such a decision should also be discussed and agreed upon with the common public's participation. Professionals should calculate the risks of such a decision, but the final decision can only be made on a democratic basis and consider liberal and social values.

The main research is based on fundamental developments in pedagogy, philosophy of education, management of education and educational process, in particular on humanistic pedagogy, effective methodology of educational process, anthropological pedagogy, internationalization and globalization of higher education. Different forms of global cooperation viewed as a standard are vital for the overall thinking, environmental, economic and social dimension. Almost every developed country has extensive experience in building a system of higher education. The results of the analysis of this experience can contribute to the development and enrichment of the domestic education system, avoid the recurrence of mistakes and the opportunity to discover new approaches to solving a number of problems in this area. The main focus is made on the compliance of possible strategies for the interaction between the educational environment and AI with the standards of the sustainable development paradigm approved by the UNO for the next decade. In the context of the study, both constructive and destructive scenarios of human interaction with AI are taken into account. At the same time, the position is argued that risks and dangers still prevail over the technological opportunities that the new stage of development of AI technologies can provide. Therefore, as the main conclusion, it is proposed to place a bet on maximizing the development of total human intelligence through the introduction of new educational strategies in the future of implementing high-quality, accessible to all primary, secondary and higher educational levels on a global scale. At this stage of the development of civilization, this task is a priority. In addition, restrictions on the development and implementation of AI are necessary to avoid the unpredictable consequences of a "technological singularity".

Universities should b...

There have been protests and revolutions calling for political change and democratic reforms in many parts. However, little is actually known about the origins and success factors of these movements. Historically, a higher level of education can certainly be associated with a high degree of democratization, but the channels and extent of this correlation have not yet been fully researched. Findings based on transnational panel data show that the formation of democratization is more effectively accelerated when average income is lowЗаклики до демократизації стали візитівкою цього десятиліття.
