The ideal definition of "Minimal Invasive (MI) Dentistry" is the use of a biological me... more The ideal definition of "Minimal Invasive (MI) Dentistry" is the use of a biological method rather than a typical (surgical) operational dentistry strategy to treat dental caries. When operational dentistry is necessary, it is now done in the most conservative way possible, with the least amount of tooth structure being harmed. This novel method of caries cares shifts the focus from detecting carious lesions as cavities (and a recurring cycle of restorations) to diagnosing the oral ecological imbalance and affecting biological changes in the biofilm. BACKGROUND: Minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis (MiRAS) is one of the most common, recurrent, and... more BACKGROUND: Minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis (MiRAS) is one of the most common, recurrent, and painful mucosal pathological condition. It is characterised by round or shallow oval ulcers, less than 10 mm in diameter, surrounded by a thin erythematous halo. It involves non-keratinized mucosa such as the labial and buccal mucosa, the ventral surface or borders of the tongue and the floor of the mouth, but it is uncommon to occur on the keratinised mucosa. It heals spontaneously within 10-14 days without scarring. There is no curative remedy to prevent its recurrence; also, available modalities only reduce the symptoms and severity of the lesion. A variety of different modalities have been proposed for removing hyperpigmentation involving surgical scraping, gingival autograft, cryotherapy, electrosurgery, and lasers. However, the microneedling technique is a nonsurgical procedure that creates microholes to facilitate the penetration of topical medications across the connective tissues. Case Description. A healthy female patient aged 25 years with a pigmented gingiva seeking gingival depigmentation. On examination, a dark brown ribbon of hyperpigmentation was observed within the mandibular attached gingiva. The case was diagnosed as physiological moderate gingival pigmentation ( pigmentation index score = 3 ). Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Riyadh city between April and July 2021. About 200 non-smokers Saudi men were recruited in the study which was allocated into two groups (100 subjects each); bodybuilders and non-bodybuilders. Oral health indicators like dental caries, plaque, and gingival indices were measured. Results: D and DMFT were higher in the bodybuilder group than in the non-bodybuilder [4.47 vs 0.89 for D, and 8.75 vs 4.58 for DMFT]. Also, P.I. and G.I. showed the same result. 60 % of participants were taking protein only, while 37% of them were taking a combination of protein, creatine, and amino acids. Although there are many presenting treatments, some of them proved its failure. Recently, the use of photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been expanding due to its numerous advantages, as it is safe, convenient, and non-invasive and has toxic effect towards selective tissues. This article provides comprehensive review on OLP, its etiology, clinical features and recent non-pharmacological treatments. We also describe the topical PDT and its mechanisms. Despite the considerable number of new biomaterials that develop with more advantages and fewer disadvantages for bone regeneration, the cost and surgical approach difficulties are still the main obstacles that we tried to overcome using the novel membrane. AIM: Our research aimed to assess histologically the bone formation using the novel membrane in experimental bone defects. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Our study was conducted on ten mongrel dogs. However, curcumin characteristics have been described to be effective in reducing inflammatory mediators and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP). But, due to its poor solubility and bioavailability, a chemically modified curcumin (CMC 2.24) has been used. In this chapter, we explore the applications of botulinum toxin in dentistry for either cosmetic or therapeutic purpose, such as gummy smile (high lip line), parafunctional habits, temporomandibular disorders and facial pain. It is considered as a non-invasive, conservative and affordable alternative treatment in comparison to surgical procedures. Although, the effect of BT is temporary that lasts for 4-6 months, it is preferred by most of the patients as it gives positive significant results that meet their desires with minimal side effects.

AIM: In this context, we elevated in this pilot study the effect of HA on soft tissue healing and bone repair of dental sockets (DS) as well as the postoperative pain. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ten individuals of both genders (80% females and 20% males) with age range 18–44 years, were included who were diagnosed with two non-restorable teeth (total sockets n = 20). A split-mouth study design was performed where the DS of each patient were divided into Group A (study group): Topical oral HA gel (Gengigel®) was applied into sockets while Group B (control group): Sockets were left untreated.
