Background: Covid-19 is a disease caused by acute respiratory syndrome due to corona virus 2. Pat... more Background: Covid-19 is a disease caused by acute respiratory syndrome due to corona virus 2. Patients with Covid-19 experience symptoms of severe shortness of breath resulting in death. The risk of death for Covid-19 sufferers will be greater if the patient has a history of comorbid diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease or kidney disease.Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between comorbid diseases and the incidence of mortality in patients with Covid-19.Method: Research design using descriptive analytic. The research population was all Covid-19 sufferers who were treated at Mojowarno Christian Hospital (RSK) during 2021 totaling 450 sufferers. The research sample was 212 respondents with a sampling technique using systematic random sampling. The data was obtained from the medical records of Covid-19 patients who were treated at the Mojowarno Hospital. Statistical test using chi square and odds ratio with a significance level of P <0.05. Results: The results of the study found that comorbid diabetes mellitus showed a result of P: 0.000, meaning that there was a relationship between comorbid diabetes mellitus and the incidence of mortality in patients with Covid-19. Comorbid kidney disease shows a P value: 0.003, meaning that there is a relationship between comorbid kidney disease and the occurrence of mortality in Covid-19 sufferers. Comorbid heart disease results obtained P: 0.089, meaning that there is no relationship between comorbid heart disease and mortality in patients with Covid-19. Hypertensive comorbid disease on mortality with a P value: 0.134 meaning that there is no relationship between hypertension comorbid disease and the risk of mortality in patients with Covid-19. Conclusion:Covid-19 sufferers who have comorbid diabetes mellitus cause greater mortality. This is because diabetes mellitus can cause a cytokine storm which plays a role in increasing the severity of COVID-19 sufferers so that it often causes death.

Konsumsi Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) teh hijau dilaporkan banyak bermanfaat pada upaya pening... more Konsumsi Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) teh hijau dilaporkan banyak bermanfaat pada upaya peningkatan kesehatan, seperti pembakaran lemak, mencegah obesitas dan sensitifitas insulin. Sehingga teh hijau (Camelia sinensis) dari klon GMB4 dapat dikembangkan sebagai agen terapeutik potensial untuk obesitas dan resistensi insulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) teh hijau dapat menghambat peningkatan kadar SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan resistensi insulin pada tikus galur wistar jantan yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara invivo dengan pemeliharaan hewan coba selama 8 minggu yang dibagi dalam lima kelompok perlakuan: (1) kelompok kontrol (-) dengan pemberian diet pakan standart, (2) kelompok kontrol (+) dengan pemberian diet tinggi lemak, (3)Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 1mg/kgBB, (4) Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 2 mg/kgBB, (5) Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 8 mg/kgBB. Pakan tikus diberikan secara oral, sedangkan EGCG per sonde 1 x/hr. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ELISA untuk kadar insulin dan SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan spektrofotometri untuk glukosa darah puasa. EGCG menurunkan lemak viseral, kadar glukosa, kadar SREBP-1 dan resistensi insulin (HOMA-IR) (p<0,05). Penurunan kadar SREBP-1 secara signifikan sebesar 29,85%(p<0,05) pada dosis 8 mg/kgBB, sedangkan HOMA-IR menurun secara signifikan sebesar 33,89% (p<0,05) pada dosis 8 mg/kgBB. Terdapat hubungan antara kadar SREBP-1 dengan resistensi insulin (HOMA-IR) (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa EGCG mampu menghambat resistensi insulin yang mungkin melalui penurunan adipo/lipogenesis SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa, dengan bukti adanya penurunan kadar SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan lemak viseral.

SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) is one of autoimmune disease in which the immune system attack... more SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) is one of autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. Etiology and pathogenesis are not clearly mention until now by the scientist, but environmental factor is contribute to development of Lupus and Flare disease. The objective of this study to explain the relationship between environmental factors and pathogenesis development of SLE, and how the Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) can protect or prevent of organs damage and environmental effects. Method: The research design of this study was used literature review. The data sources collected from Electronic database in Pubmed, Sage, Google Scholar and website of science including reports, journals and mostly published in the last 10 years. Results: The pathomechanism of SLE was influenced by environmental factors and this was caused an increasing of oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, dysregulation of immune system and decreased the clean of immune complex and apoptosis of cells. The production of autoantibodies and immune complex are related with target tissue with is it was caused chronic inflammation and the end it caused irreversible damage in glomerulus of the kidneys, arteries, lungs and other tissues. EGCG plays a protecting role in environmental factors as a trigger because it works as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomudulator. So EGCG can as a potential agent to protect SLE. Conclusion: Environmental factors plays an important role as a triger of SLE and flare. Moreover, EGCG as a potential agent to protect the presence of oxidative stress, inflammation and immune dysregulation.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of green tea administration on TNF-a, Hsp70... more Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of green tea administration on TNF-a, Hsp70, and TGF-b1 levels in the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Material and methods: A total of 32 mice will be divided into four groups (each 8 mice), namely the control group, the SLE group, the SLE group who were given green tea extract at a dose of 500 mg/kg body weight, and the SLE group who were given green tea extract at a dose of 1000 mg/kg body weight. Analysis of TNF-a, Hsp70, and TGF-b1 levels was carried out using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. Results: TNF-a and TGF-b1 levels were significantly increased in the SLE group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). This increase can be significantly reduced through the provision of green tea, even reaching levels comparable to the control group (p > 0.05). Conclusions: It was concluded that green tea containing EGCG can suppress TNF-a and TGF-b1 in the SLE model. Thus, green tea can be an alternative in immunology modulation in SLE.

Method: Twenty-five rats will be divided into five groups, namely the control group (without any treatment), the group of rats treated by anti-tuberculosis drugs, and a group of mice were given antituberculosis drugs and got Aloe vera extract at a dose of 40; 80; and 120 mg/kg body weight. Wistar male rats were fed a diet high in fat for 2 months from 8 weeks of age and determination of the object of research with completely randomized design five treatments and EGCG was given by sonde. Blood cholesterol levels by spektrophometry. EGCG treatment decreased cholesterol levels (p<0.05). Cholesterol levels decreased 55%(p=0.00) at doses of 8 mg / BW. The Results suggested that EGCG one of the most abundant catechins contained in green tea effectively inhibits increased cholesterol levels, that risk factor for cardio vascular disease.

This research aimed to reveal the potency of green tea (Camellia sinensis) as immunomodulator, an... more This research aimed to reveal the potency of green tea (Camellia sinensis) as immunomodulator, antiapoptosis agent and anti pyroptosis agent in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.. The rest samples was downloaded from KNAPSACK Database. Biological activity prediction was conducted by PASS SERVER. Molecular Docking analysis was performed by Autodock Vina in PyRx software v.0.9.3. Complex docking was analyzed and visualized using Discovery Studio Software. The result showed that Camellia sinensis has the main potency as immunomodulatory, antioxidant and anti-inflammation. The highest activity of this herbal is antioxidant. There are few bioactive that have role as immunomodulator. The result of molecular docking can explain the mechanism of active compound as anti-apoptosis and anti-pyroptosis. Docking result showed that Theaflavin has the highest affinity to both activities. It can be concluded that bioactive from Camelia sinensis is promising for curing Systemic Lupus Erythematosus by acting as antioxidant and inhibit apoptosis and pyroptosis mechanism.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek dari EGCG terhadap kadar sterol regulatory element-binding protein - 1(SREBP-1) pada tikus betina yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Tikus wistar betina diberi diet tinggi lemak selama 2 bulan dan dikelompokkan dalam lima kelompok perlakuan yaitu ( 1 ) Tikus dengan diet pakan standart ( 2 ) Tikus dengan diet tinggi lemak , ( 3 ) Tikus dengan diet tinggi lemak + EGCG 1 mg/kgBB ( 4 ) Tikus dengan diet tinggi lemak + EGCG 2 mg/kgBB ( 5 ) Tikus dengan diet tinggi lemak + EGCG 2 mg/kgBB. EGCG diberikan per sonde 1x/hari. SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa diperiksa dengan ELISA. Dan hasilnya Kadar SREBP-1 menurun 29.85% (p <0.05) pada dosis 8 mg/kgBB. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa EGCG efektif menurunkan kadar SREBP-1 yang merupakan faktor regulator adipo dan lipogenesis suatu patogenesis untuk terjadinya obesitas. Terutama obesitas viseral yang beresiko untuk terjadinya sindroma metabolik. Sehingga disarankan untuk mengkonsumsi teh hijau untuk pencegahan obesitas. Wistar male rats were fed a diet high in fat for 2 months from 6-8 weeks of age and determination of the object of research with completely randomized design with five treatments, namely (1) Rats with standard feed diet (2) rats with a diet high in fat, (3) rats with high-fat diet + EGCG 1mg/kgBW, (4) rats with high-fat diet + EGCG 2 mg/kgBW, (5) rats with high-fat diet + EGCG 8 mg/kgBW. Feeding rats administered orally, whereas EGCG per sonde 1x/day. Adipose tissue SREBP-1 was measured by ELISA EGCG treatment decreased SREBP-1<0.05) compared with high-fat diet without EGCG treatment. SREBP-1 levels decreased significantly by 29.85% (p <0.05) at doses of 8 mg/kgBW. Results suggested that EGCG effectively inhibits SREBP-1 regulator of adipo/lipogenesis to the pathogenesis of obesity. Especially visceral obesity that risk for the metabolic syndrome. The research population was all Covid-19 sufferers who were treated at Mojowarno Christian Hospital (RSK) during 2021 totaling 450 sufferers. The research sample was 212 respondents with a sampling technique using systematic random sampling. The data was obtained from the medical records of Covid-19 patients who were treated at the Mojowarno Hospital. Statistical test using chi square and odds ratio with a significance level of P <0.05. Results: The results of the study found that comorbid diabetes mellitus showed a result of P: 0.000, meaning that there was a relationship between comorbid diabetes mellitus and the incidence of mortality in patients with Covid-19. Comorbid kidney disease shows a P value: 0.003, meaning that there is a relationship between comorbid kidney disease and the occurrence of mortality in Covid-19 sufferers. Comorbid heart disease results obtained P: 0.089, meaning that there is no relationship between comorbid heart disease and mortality in patients with Covid-19. Hypertensive comorbid disease on mortality with a P value: 0.134 meaning that there is no relationship between hypertension comorbid disease and the risk of mortality in patients with Covid-19. Conclusion:Covid-19 sufferers who have comorbid diabetes mellitus cause greater mortality. This is because diabetes mellitus can cause a cytokine storm which plays a role in increasing the severity of COVID-19 sufferers so that it often causes death.

Sehingga teh hijau (Camelia sinensis) dari klon GMB4 dapat dikembangkan sebagai agen terapeutik potensial untuk obesitas dan resistensi insulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) teh hijau dapat menghambat peningkatan kadar SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan resistensi insulin pada tikus galur wistar jantan yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara invivo dengan pemeliharaan hewan coba selama 8 minggu yang dibagi dalam lima kelompok perlakuan: (1) kelompok kontrol (-) dengan pemberian diet pakan standart, (2) kelompok kontrol (+) dengan pemberian diet tinggi lemak, (3)Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 1mg/kgBB, (4) Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 2 mg/kgBB, (5) Pemberian diet tinggi lemak+EGCG 8 mg/kgBB. Pakan tikus diberikan secara oral, sedangkan EGCG per sonde 1 x/hr. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ELISA untuk kadar insulin dan SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan spektrofotometri untuk glukosa darah puasa. EGCG menurunkan lemak viseral, kadar glukosa, kadar SREBP-1 dan resistensi insulin (HOMA-IR) (p<0,05). Penurunan kadar SREBP-1 secara signifikan sebesar 29,85%(p<0,05) pada dosis 8 mg/kgBB, sedangkan HOMA-IR menurun secara signifikan sebesar 33,89% (p<0,05) pada dosis 8 mg/kgBB. Terdapat hubungan antara kadar SREBP-1 dengan resistensi insulin (HOMA-IR) (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa EGCG mampu menghambat resistensi insulin yang mungkin melalui penurunan adipo/lipogenesis SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa, dengan bukti adanya penurunan kadar SREBP-1 jaringan adiposa dan lemak viseral.

Etiology and pathogenesis are not clearly mention until now by the scientist, but environmental factor is contribute to development of Lupus and Flare disease. The objective of this study to explain the relationship between environmental factors and pathogenesis development of SLE, and how the Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) can protect or prevent of organs damage and environmental effects. Method: The research design of this study was used literature review. The data sources collected from Electronic database in Pubmed, Sage, Google Scholar and website of science including reports, journals and mostly published in the last 10 years. Results: The pathomechanism of SLE was influenced by environmental factors and this was caused an increasing of oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, dysregulation of immune system and decreased the clean of immune complex and apoptosis of cells. The production of autoantibodies and immune complex are related with target tissue with is it was caused chronic inflammation and the end it caused irreversible damage in glomerulus of the kidneys, arteries, lungs and other tissues. EGCG plays a protecting role in environmental factors as a trigger because it works as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomudulator. So EGCG can as a potential agent to protect SLE. Conclusion: Environmental factors plays an important role as a triger of SLE and flare. Moreover, EGCG as a potential agent to protect the presence of oxidative stress, inflammation and immune dysregulation.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of green tea administration on TNF-a, Hsp70... more Objective: This study aims to investigate the effects of green tea administration on TNF-a, Hsp70, and TGF-b1 levels in the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Material and methods: A total of 32 mice will be divided into four groups (each 8 mice), namely the control group, the SLE group, the SLE group who were given green tea extract at a dose of 500 mg/kg body weight, and the SLE group who were given green tea extract at a dose of 1000 mg/kg body weight. Analysis of TNF-a, Hsp70, and TGF-b1 levels was carried out using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. Results: TNF-a and TGF-b1 levels were significantly increased in the SLE group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). This increase can be significantly reduced through the provision of green tea, even reaching levels comparable to the control group (p > 0.05). Conclusions: It was concluded that green tea containing EGCG can suppress TNF-a and TGF-b1 in the SLE model. Thus, green tea can be an alternative in immunology modulation in SLE.

Wistar male rats were fed a diet high in fat for 2 months from 8 weeks of age and determination of the object of research with completely randomized design five treatments and EGCG was given by sonde. Blood cholesterol levels by spektrophometry. EGCG treatment decreased cholesterol levels (p<0.05). Cholesterol levels decreased 55%(p=0.00) at doses of 8 mg / BW. The Results suggested that EGCG one of the most abundant catechins contained in green tea effectively inhibits increased cholesterol levels, that risk factor for cardio vascular disease.

This research aimed to reveal the potency of green tea (Camellia sinensis) as immunomodulator, an... more This research aimed to reveal the potency of green tea (Camellia sinensis) as immunomodulator, antiapoptosis agent and anti pyroptosis agent in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.. The rest samples was downloaded from KNAPSACK Database. Biological activity prediction was conducted by PASS SERVER. Molecular Docking analysis was performed by Autodock Vina in PyRx software v.0.9.3. Complex docking was analyzed and visualized using Discovery Studio Software. The result showed that Camellia sinensis has the main potency as immunomodulatory, antioxidant and anti-inflammation. The highest activity of this herbal is antioxidant. There are few bioactive that have role as immunomodulator. The result of molecular docking can explain the mechanism of active compound as anti-apoptosis and anti-pyroptosis. Docking result showed that Theaflavin has the highest affinity to both activities. It can be concluded that bioactive from Camelia sinensis is promising for curing Systemic Lupus Erythematosus by acting as antioxidant and inhibit apoptosis and pyroptosis mechanism.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek dari EGCG terhadap kadar sterol regulatory element-binding protein - 1(SREBP-1) pada tikus betina yang diberi diet tinggi lemak. Feeding rats administered orally, whereas EGCG per sonde 1x/day. Adipose tissue SREBP-1 was measured by ELISA EGCG treatment decreased SREBP-1<0.05) compared with high-fat diet without EGCG treatment.
